Not Being a Trainer This Time

Chapter 478: Chapter 282: Year After Year (4000)_2

Use a blender to turn the Tree of Beginning Leaf into a paste, then add ingredients like eggs and milk, pour into molds to shape, and finally bake in the oven.

Once it’s baked to perfection, take the cake out of the oven, spread cream on it, and cut it into small pieces.

With that, a Leaf Cake is complete.

Naoki couldn’t wait to check the information on this Leaf Cake.

[Leaf Cake (Incomplete Edition) (S-): A cake made by mixing Tree of Beginning Leaf with eggs and MooMoo Fresh Milk, etc. Listen closely, and you might sense the Breath of Nature within.

Cooking Effect: Breath of Nature.

1. Permanently increase the power of Grass Type Moves by 20%, effect limited to Grass Type Pokemon, cannot be stacked.

2. After consumption by Grass Type Pokemon, it can respond to the rhythm of nature. When using Grass Energy to cultivate crops, it can slightly shorten the crop growth time, effective only for Grass Type Pokemon, effect cannot be stacked.

Additional Effect: Master of the World Tree, you have been recognized by the Tree of Beginning. As an existence that nurtured the World Tree with the mounting goat, you may enter all regions inside the World Tree in future, this effect only applies to Naoki.

Evaluation: Listen to the Breath of Nature! Perhaps once the World Tree is fully grown, dishes made from its leaves will have even better effects.]

Naoki was dumbfounded.

Wait! What does this additional effect mean? It’s valid only for him?

Naoki calmly analyzed, pondering a bit.

Initially, he had personally brought back those three Miracle Seeds from the town, intending them as items for the mounting goat, which unexpectedly got planted in the ground and nurtured with Grass Energy.

Then, those three Miracle Seeds took root and sprouted in the soil...

Thinking of this, Naoki suddenly realized something.

All along, he considered the Gogoat as merely a Pokemon that nurtured the World Tree, ignoring the underlying conditions.

But from the effects of this Leaf Cake, isn’t there a possibility that the World Tree regards the Gogoat as a mother?

And Gogoat’s daily act of nurturing the World Tree with Grass Energy, isn’t it like feeding milk to a child?!

”So, could it be that the World Tree is influenced by Gogoat and considers me its owner too? Or perhaps its grandfather?”

The more Naoki thought about it, the more absurd it seemed.

If this were true, then wouldn’t he and the Gogoats be like young people freeloading off their children?

It’s too absurd...

Naoki quickly shook his head, dismissing this bizarre speculation.

After all, the World Tree represents nature’s will and shouldn’t be so ridiculous.

Of course, all of this is just Naoki’s conjecture, the World Tree’s own intentions remain unknown.

Ignoring the additional effects, Naoki began to carefully examine the two specific effects above.

The first is to increase the power of Grass Type Pokemon moves.

”Increase by 20%... it’s about the same value as the items Pokemon carry.” Naoki mused.

This is just the effect of Tree of Beginning Leaf before it’s mature, if once the World Tree grows completely, the increase in move power should be much greater.

The second is the reduction of crop growth time, which is currently a necessity for the ranch.

Whether it’s the everyday vegetables and melons, or the carrots fed to Glastrier and Spectrier, or the World Tree, all need Pokemon with this capability.

Naoki even considers the second effect more critical than the first.

Because the future ranch can’t always rely on Calyrex’s power, with the ability to shorten crop growth times, the Gogoat, Dolliv, and other Grass Type Pokemon can handle it themselves.

Just like the Shaymins’ ability to make flowers bloom.

And once Calyrex eats the Leaf Cake, the World Tree’s growth time will likely shorten further.

”Once the World Tree is fully grown, the extent of the reduction in crop growth time will likely increase from slight to significant.” Naoki thought.

Overall, the effects of this Leaf Cake far exceeded his imagination!

Naoki first ate a piece himself, then placed the remaining five on a tray and brought them to the ranch to feed them to three Gogoats, Dolliv, and Calyrex respectively.

After eating, none of the Pokemon reacted significantly, no exaggerated glowing effects, just going about their usual activities, playing and sleeping.

Only Calyrex perceived a subtle change.

After eating the Leaf Cake, it immediately felt the changes occurring within its body.

”Was that miraculous cuisine made by you as well?” Calyrex asked curiously.

Naoki grinned: ”That’s right, that’s Leaf Cake, able to boost the power of Grass Type Pokemon moves and shorten their crop cultivation growth time.”

”Such cuisine exists in the world...” Calyrex murmured in awe, then smiled: ”Thanks to you, my power has grown again.”

When leaving Galar, it came here with the intention of seeking a change in life and mood, and also to see if its little follower needed assistance, which it would offer to the best of its ability.

Yet now it seems, the little follower not only refrained from seeking too much help but rather kept creating snacks and afternoon tea to enhance its power.
