Not Being a Trainer This Time

Chapter 449: Chapter 270: Let There Be Light

Yesterday, that exploding Destruction Mushroom caught his attention.

Naoki tried searching for traces of other Destruction Mushrooms on this apple and waterfall-laden island.

However, he didn’t see any Destruction Mushrooms, but he did notice some apple trees had been eaten bare.

It was obvious without even thinking that it must have been Giratina eating them after he had left yesterday.

Naoki imagined Giratina shrinking to a little over two meters, landing on the grass of Apple Hills, plucking apples with its mouth and devouring them.

At that time, what kind of mood would Giratina be in?

Naoki curiously looked at Giratina.

Sensing Naoki’s gaze, Giratina felt a bit uneasy and glared back at him with wide eyes.

Pretending not to see, Naoki, unable to find the Destruction Mushroom he wanted, set off to a new Sky Island.

Ultimately, they chose a Sky Island with relatively flat terrain, no backward waterfalls, and no scattered boulders, appearing quite normal.

Once again with Diglett’s help, Naoki turned the soil, scattering grass and flower seeds before handing it over to Calyrex for cultivation.

With a surge of blue light, in the blink of an eye, the Sky Island before them transformed dramatically.

The barren, deep land was covered with green grass, which bloomed with a variety of flowers.

Roses, lilies, roses, lilies of the valley, sunflowers, and some unknown small flowers.

Naoki looked at this sea of flowers, feeling extremely satisfied.

However, at that moment, as if suddenly discovering something, Calyrex gazed at a special sunflower and said, ”I sense an unusual aura.”

”What?”

Naoki was slightly taken aback and followed Calyrex’s gaze to see a peculiar sunflower emitting a faint glow amidst the dense Sunflora Field.

The next second, information about that sunflower surfaced in his mind.

[Sunflower: Special crop, originally an ordinary sunflower that underwent magical changes after Calyrex’s cultivation. It can periodically produce sunlight to illuminate a certain area, providing both warmth and light. Dishes made from its fruit will have the effect of a ”Sun Stone.”]

This is...

Naoki was stunned on the spot.

Just then, the sunflower’s head suddenly brightened at a speed visible to the naked eye.

When it reached a certain level, the light gradually detached from the head below, gathering into a golden sun that rose above this Sky Island.

Instantly, the surrounding environment became warm and bright.

Giratina, seeing this scene, was also slightly taken aback.

If it wasn’t mistaken, that thing was... the sun?

Giratina felt a bit unsure, so it turned its gaze to Naoki.

After a brief shock, Naoki quickly accepted the situation and said to Giratina, ”Alright, you can come here to bask in the sun from now on.”

Giratina still looked bewildered. It couldn’t believe its eyes while staring at that sunflower, exclaiming, ”What is that thing? Humans can actually grow such plants!”

Naoki: ”... Not everyone can grow sunflowers like this.”

Giratina looked over.

Naoki explained, ”To be precise, it’s called a Sunflower, a special plant born from the combination of my ability and Calyrex’s ability.”

Giratina seemed to half-understand and then, in an admiring tone, said, ”That’s amazing!”

Naoki inspected the other flowers carefully, and seeing no other mutant plants besides the Sunflower, he took a few Pokemon to the next Sky Island.

This time, he planned to plant tea seedlings here and transform this place into his exclusive tea garden.

Meanwhile, in Mesagoza City, at Paldea News TV Station.

A blonde woman in an office lady outfit sat at a desk, reviewing letters sent in from across Paldea.

Generally speaking, these letters would record strange and unusual events happening across Paldea.

For example, rare Pokemon appearing in certain areas, a specific Pokemon causing disturbances in a town, or a Trainer witnessing ghosts somewhere.

When these events occur, Paldea News TV Station would dispatch specialized reporters to investigate and interview, then produce programs to air on TV, thereby captivating the audience.

”Let me see if there’s any big news worth uncovering lately.” Alice’s heart was filled with anticipation.

If they encountered interesting news, the viewership ratings of their show would rise by several points.

Opening the envelope, the first thing that caught her eye was — [A large number of Magnemites causing chaos in the town, leading to a massive city-wide blackout, their purpose in draining electricity was actually for...]

”Magnemite? A pretty normal event!” Alice sharply commented, ”This kind of stuff happened many years ago, nothing surprising at all.”

Alice put this letter aside and continued to open the second one.

[A man fell in love with a Gardevoir, dressed Gardevoir in a wedding gown, intending to hold a wedding at a church. What will be the outcome of this forbidden love between humans and Pokemon?!]

Alice: ”...”

At this moment, a male colleague wearing glasses approached: ”Hey Alice, have you discovered any interesting news?”
