Not Being a Trainer This Time

Chapter 411: Chapter 255: Sword and Shield (4k)_2

It turned its head, looking over with a wary expression.

”Awoo?” (Who are you?)

This Urshifu’s perception is sharper than he imagined! Its strength must be formidable!

Naoki thought this to himself, but spoke aloud, ”You left that boy alone at the Pokemon Center.”

Upon hearing this, Urshifu’s face showed a look of reluctance and pain, ”Little Wu...”

Naoki raised an eyebrow, ”Little Wu?”

Suddenly, Urshifu realized, ”You can understand what I’m saying?”

At this moment, Calyrex floated forward, asking with goodwill, ”We mean no harm, I merely wish to understand your relationship with that human.”

Urshifu looked at Calyrex, opened its mouth, internal pain and struggle evident.

After a moment, it spoke in a sorrowful tone, ”He is Little Wu... my son.”

Naoki and Calyrex exchanged a glance, inwardly saying, just as they suspected.

Koraidon beside them was full of shock.

”Agassi?!” (Can a Pokemon give birth to a human?!)

Naoki: ”...” That Urshifu is obviously male, how could it lay an egg?

He greatly admired his Koraidon’s fanciful thinking.

The Urshifu across from them glanced at Koraidon and explained, ”He’s not... I found him in the forest.”

Speaking of his son, Urshifu’s face was full of affection and pride; it was clear that it had devoted one hundred percent of its emotions to the human boy.

”At that time, I was practicing boxing under the waterfall when a human-abandoned boy drifted down from upstream in front of me.”

”If I didn’t take him in, he would die, so I adopted him, became his father, and named him Little Wu.”

”I love him very much. I take him to the plains on the other side of the mountain to find milk, and he accompanies me by the waterfall to practice boxing all year round. Little Wu is a very intelligent child; he helps the Pokemon in the forest, and even some of the more fierce Pokemon become more docile when they see him.”

Talking about the past, Urshifu’s eyes were exceptionally gentle.

Calyrex listened silently, then curiously asked, ”Then why did you leave him?”

Urshifu’s expression turned somber, painfully answering, ”Because Little Wu is a human, life in the forest isn’t suitable for him.”

”That human was right, I’m not a qualified father; I can’t selfishly bind Little Wu to my side, keeping him away from the human world.”

”Staying in the human world, Little Wu can grow up healthy, never get sick, always find food, live in a warm room, and not worry about rain and cold...”

Hearing this, Naoki roughly understood Urshifu’s thoughts.

He couldn’t help but say, ”You’re already a qualified father.”

Urshifu was slightly taken aback.

Naoki: ”But I think the child doesn’t know about your departure yet, does he?”

Urshifu looked embarrassed.

Calyrex also understood Naoki’s meaning, ”I can feel your heart. If you cannot let him go, why leave him?”

Naoki: ”When he wakes up, the first person he wants to see will surely be you, yet you’re not by his side. Though it’s the human world, everything is unfamiliar and unknown to that child.”

Koraidon nodded its big head in agreement, ”Agassi!”

Upon hearing these words, Urshifu was slightly stunned.

Imagining that scene, his heart raced, and he no longer cared about previous matters, hastily turning and running toward the town.

Naoki turned to watch this scene, feeling slightly touched inside.

”I never expected that such a thing could happen in this world.”

He liked Urshifu, this kind of Pokemon, even more.

Though regrettably, liking aside, the number of such Pokemon is really too scarce.

He certainly couldn’t go and steal someone else’s father, right?

Forget it! With Koraidon and Calyrex, he’s already quite content.

The most important lesson in life is to understand the joy of being content.

Calyrex too saw new possibilities between humans and Pokemon.

This former King of Galar sincerely wished, ”I hope that child can recover soon.”

”Alright, we should continue on our journey!” Naoki said.

Calyrex nodded.

Thus, the group continued, making their way toward Postwick Town.

The sky was turning dark, the setting sun enveloping the entire land, as if the whole world were drowning in summer’s orange soda.

Like Porto Marinada Town, Postwick Town also primarily engages in farm business.

Only here, the farm raises not Rock Pokemon or Miltank, but a large group of chubby, round Wooloo.

Watching them leisurely munching on grass across the sunset-lit fields brings a sense of peace and tranquility.

Looking at the scene here, Calyrex seemed to foresee its own future life.

A smile appeared on its face, softly saying, ”I haven’t experienced such life in a long time, and now, it does make one look forward to it.”

Behind the vast plains lies a quiet, deep forest.

Calyrex’s gaze fell upon the forest, ”Let’s go, King of Swords and King of the Shield are there!”

Naoki felt a slight rush of excitement within.

Would he soon meet Zacian and Zamazenta?

This trip to Galar, he met six Legendary Pokemon, indeed making it all worthwhile!

With anticipation, Naoki and Calyrex proceeded to the Slumbering Weald.

As the night descended, the entire forest appeared extraordinarily tranquil.

The river babbled along, dense plants thrived on both sides of the path, towering trees blocked out the sky, occasionally a beam of pure moonlight pierced through the gaps illuminating the woods.

In the distant thicket, a layer of enigmatic mist prevails, making the entire forest dreamlike, as if entering a fantasy.

The paths in the forest wind and diverge, unknown to Naoki and Koraidon, so Calyrex led the way.

After walking without knowing for how long, gradually the surrounding mist grew heavier until visibility was less than five meters.

Suddenly, Calyrex at the front stopped.

Naoki was about to ask what was wrong, then saw Calyrex stare proudly ahead.

Naoki was slightly stunned, then he followed its gaze, seeing two agile shadows emerge from the thick haze.

The one on the left had a coat of blue fur with white patterns resembling scars, ears with braid-like extensions, and slender limbs.

The one on the right was covered in red fur resembling armor, had a tuft of hair on its head, sharp angles throughout, similarly marked with scar-like patterns, its face resembling a small shield.

With calm and composed eyes, Zacian and Zamazenta glanced at Naoki behind Calyrex and then approached, bowing low like knights serving their king.

Calyrex spoke with authority, ”No need for ceremony!”

Zacian and Zamazenta rose; they seemed to understand Calyrex’s purpose, then raised their heads, letting out a howl akin to a canine.

”Woof—!” (We’ve successfully repelled the Darkest Day!)

Calyrex nodded slightly, ”I am aware; however, I can still feel that force wasn’t completely driven away, scattered across the land.”

Upon hearing this, slight confusion flashed upon Zacian and Zamazenta’s faces.

Calyrex’s gaze turned to them, saying, ”I am no longer the King of Galar. Soon, I will depart this land; from now on, everything here is in your hands.”

Hearing that Calyrex would leave, Zacian and Zamazenta widened their eyes in surprise.

Zamazenta asked in confusion, ”Awoo?” (Why? Is it because of this human?)

Calyrex glanced at Naoki, ”Yes and no, this land has no need for me anymore; humans have found their path.”

Zacian, somewhat anxious, said, ”Woof? Woof...” (But you just said the Darkest Day isn’t over... If you leave, can we alone stop it? Furthermore, our weapons have long grown rusty...)

Calyrex lightly shook its head, ”I have bestowed the King’s Power upon you; it will provide answers, and I have glimpsed the future. This time, the disaster shrouding this land will be conclusively resolved.”

Then Calyrex looked at the heroes before him and said to them:

”Until that day arrives, all you need to do is patiently await.”
