Not Being a Trainer This Time

Chapter 426: Chapter 262: Return to the Ranch (4k)

League Year 198, October 28, the ship finally arrived at the Paldea Region, docking at the port of Levincia City.

Naoki got off the ship and hurried towards the ranch with Koraidon, who was carrying a sack of Corviknight feathers.

The Paldea Region doesn’t compare to the Galar Region; trains don’t cover all cities.

If you want to go out, apart from riding Pokemon, mostly, you take buses and other transportation facilities.

It’s inconvenient to travel with so many things, so as soon as Naoki left Levincia City, he released Glastrier and Spectrier from the Poke Ball.

Then he hung the sack of Corviknight feathers on Glastrier, who was stronger, while he and Calyrex respectively rode Koraidon and Spectrier, heading towards Porto Marinada Town.

They walked and stopped along the way, finally returning to Porto Marinada Town on the evening of October 31.

Looking at the familiar road leading to the ranch, Naoki felt exceptionally excited inside.

Having left the ranch for so many days, he wondered how everyone was doing now?

He eagerly wanted to see those Pokemon, but just then, a large truck suddenly drove towards him on the road ahead.

Naoki recognized that truck at a glance; it was Zack’s truck, which he drove every day to collect goods from nearby ranches and farms.

At this time, it just happened to be five o’clock in the evening, which was Zack’s collection period.

The rural road is not as wide as in big cities, so he quickly rode Koraidon to the side to let it pass.

Driving the truck, Zack also spotted a few familiar figures standing by the roadside.

He honked twice from a distance to greet them.

As he got closer, Zack stopped the truck, rolled down the window, stuck his head out, and showed a hearty smile: ”Back already?”

Naoki smiled back and replied: ”Yes! The matter is settled, I can finally go home.”

Thinking of Naoki Ranch, Zack couldn’t help but feel admiration:

”Your Pokemon are truly capable! While you were away, they managed to keep the ranch as neat as when you were here through mutual cooperation! It’s really impressive!”

With that, Zack shifted his gaze downward, looking at Koraidon beneath Naoki, and waved at it with a smile: ”Long time no see, Koraidon!”

Koraidon also happily responded: ”Aga Ssss～”

”You’ve grown stronger and stronger; looks like the ranch’s food is really good!”

After speaking, Zack then turned his attention to the few unfamiliar Pokemon following Naoki.

At first, he thought these were Pokemon Naoki had just captured elsewhere, not paying much attention.

But when he saw the Pokemon riding on the horse, his face showed a stunned expression.

This familiar yet strange feeling!

Could it be...

Impossible, right?!

Zack was shocked and quickly jumped out of the truck.

”Is this Pokemon really?!”

He looked at Calyrex, who also gazed gently at this human.

Calyrex could feel that this human was also providing it with faith.

Its mouth slightly curled upward, and it nodded softly at Zack.

”Wow!” Zack couldn’t help but shout.

This majestic look, this graceful posture, these loving eyes, aren’t they the legendary Pokemon Calyrex?!

The legend is true!

Naoki... actually captured Calyrex and brought it back to the Paldea Region!!!

After a brief moment of daze, Zack quickly reacted, immediately turned around, pulled Naoki aside, and began whispering.

”What is going on here?!”

Naoki looked innocent: ”What do you mean, going on?”

Zack lowered his voice: ”Isn’t Calyrex the king of the Galar Region? How did you bring it here?”

Capturing the Pokemon symbolic of another region, if the Galar people find out, would they come here to seize it? If it escalates, it could trigger a war between the two regions!

Zack was very worried.

”It’s not that exaggerated...” Naoki showed an expression of speechlessness.

He recalled for a moment and suddenly realized he had previously only told Zack and others about the legend of Calyrex riding with its beloved horse across the Galar Land, bringing prosperity to humans, but not the subsequent events.

After some thought, Naoki told Zack about the later events where Calyrex was forgotten and lost all its power.

”...There, people gradually forgot the King of Galar, the Crown Shrine turned into a ruin of broken walls, and the powerless Calyrex wandered lonely on the cold snowfield.”

After hearing this, Zack couldn’t help but frown and feel outraged inside: ”That’s too much!”

”Exactly!” Naoki added: ”When I went there, I almost froze to death on the snowfield. I really can’t believe how Calyrex, a Grass Type Pokemon, survived all these years there.”

”Luckily, you brought Calyrex back!” Zack no longer felt it would trigger a war between the two regions: ”Since they don’t cherish it, from now on, we will protect Calyrex!”

”Doesn’t it need faith? Tomorrow, when I go out to collect goods, I’ll spread the word for Calyrex in other towns!”

Naoki: ”...”

Great, from now on, Zack is missionary number two!
