Not Being a Trainer This Time

Chapter 93: Chapter 75: Special Soil (Double Chapter)_2

Just like that, Teddiursa was scared away by the Skiddo.

By the time Naoki finished his work at the ranch and turned around to look for it, he couldn’t find it anywhere in the ranch.

Naoki was puzzled and went to Pawmi, asking, ”Where’s Teddiursa?”

Pawmi looked confused, ”Pamo...” It didn’t know either, didn’t know what happened, and the other party just suddenly disappeared.

Seeing this, Naoki slightly raised his eyebrows.

He asked Pawmi what exactly happened, and Pawmi honestly reenacted the incident that just happened.

After watching, Naoki looked surprised.

Huh? It was scared away by the Skiddo?

He couldn’t help but feel speechless, looked up towards the direction of the back mountain, searched around, but still couldn’t find any trace of Teddiursa.

Naoki felt a bit regretful inside.

He hadn’t petted it enough!

He originally planned to finish his work and then prepare some hot water to give Teddiursa a bath, make it smell nice and then have a nice petting session.

But before he even had a chance, the other party was scared away.

Thinking about this, Naoki wondered if he had gone too far.

The other party was just a Teddiursa that wanted to eat honey.

It was even willing to sell its charms for honey.

He thought as he looked into the distance, then turned back to the house, took that jar of honey from the cupboard, and portioned a small part into a slightly smaller jar.

Then he handed it to Butterfree, and said to it, ”Butterfree, take this jar of honey to the forest and see if you can find Teddiursa.”

”If you find it, remember to tell it that stealing is wrong, if it wants honey, it can exchange something for it here.”

If he guessed correctly, that Teddiursa should have the characteristic related to Guts.

But before evolving into Ursaring, its current characteristic should still be Pickup.

Pokemon with this characteristic have a habit of collecting items from the wild; picking up berries and such should be easy for it.

”Buuu~”

Butterfree gently took it and then flew towards the direction of the back mountain, holding the honey.

Watching it leave, Naoki couldn’t help but take a deep breath and then focused his attention back on the ranch.

The crops in the field were already the second batch, and it would be about half a month before they matured.

Unconsciously, half of the spring had passed, and it would soon be summer.

Naoki murmured, ”Should I buy a batch of crops that can be planted in summer in advance?”

”Hmm, it’s better to prepare, otherwise there’s too much to do during the seasonal change, and it’s easy to be overwhelmed.”

Besides this, he also had to plan for each Pokemon living in the ranch.

The Skiddo weren’t a concern for now; they could grow without pressure with the Grassy Seed.

Currently, he needed to focus on Nacli, Dragonite, and Smoliv.

1. Let Nacli evolve into Naclstack, and then strive for the final stage, Garganacl.

2. Help Dragonite learn more moves.

3. Help Smoliv evolve into Dolliv, so he could get fresh and delicious olive oil.

”So, next I can try making cuisine with Rock Salt to see if I can make something like Grassy Seed, which could help Nacli grow. However, since Nacli is Rock Type, I might need to use rocks and soil rich in minerals to make the cuisine.”

Currently, Dragonite’s mastered moves include Wing Attack, Leer, Twister, Dragon Rage, Extreme Speed, Dragon Tail, Rain Dance, Thunder Punch, and it’s diligently training Thunderbolt.

Overall, this Dragonite’s move set includes flying, dragon, electric, and normal types, making its coverage very extensive.

”It’s a pity that I haven’t been able to make Dragon Type cuisine,” Naoki murmured. But now Dragonite is practicing Thunderbolt, and he plans to let it practice other moves after it masters Thunderbolt.

As for Smoliv...

Also a Grass Type Pokemon, Naoki had tried feeding it Grassy Seed before.

But Smoliv doesn’t like the sticky texture of the glutinous rice skin, and with its unmotivated attitude, it didn’t care about getting stronger.

”Hmm, I should also start developing Grass Type cuisine that suits Smoliv’s taste and can help it grow,” Naoki thought.

Today he planned to go to town, besides buying summer crop seeds, he also wanted to check if the shipment of Miltank had arrived.

Last time he asked, the old man at Happy Ranch said that the cargo ship carrying the Miltank might have encountered a storm and lost contact with them.

With this in mind, Naoki rode on Koraidon and headed to Porto Marinada Town.

Since last time he rode Cyclizar to town, this time it was naturally Koraidon’s turn.

This was a rule set by Koraidon, as it felt this way it wouldn’t lose out.

Porto Marinada Town was as bustling as ever; on his way to the seed store, Naoki passed by the Porto Marinada Market.

In his mind, he was thinking about Nacli when suddenly he heard a shout from the Porto Marinada Market.

”Come and take a look, fresh from Zapapico Town, Sun Stone, starting bid 2,000 League Coins!”

Sun Stone?

Naoki went towards the sound and saw a crowd gathered in front of a stall.

On the stall was a sun-like, reddish stone.

The stall owner smilingly shouted, ”3,000 League Coins, 3,000 League Coins once! 5,000 League Coins, 5,500! 7,000! 7,000 League Coins once, anyone bid higher?”

”Sun Stone, the miraculous Sun Stone, which can evolve Pokemon, you’re guaranteed not to lose money by buying it!”

”Wow! This gentleman bids 10,000 League Coins! Anyone bid higher?”

”...”

Naoki curiously watched from the outside, as the Sun Stone was finally auctioned off to a wealthy trainer for 60,000 League Coins.

Then, the stall owner brought out the second auction item—a handmade Love Ball.

”Huh, didn’t expect there really to be auctions here,” Naoki was a bit surprised because in the game, Porto Marinada Market was a very remarkable place.

Here, people could auction anything from berry juice to Adamant Orbs and Lustrous Orbs; they even had Arceus’s Plates.

But in reality, it wasn’t that bizarre; the rarest things sold here might only be evolution stones.

But those were useless to Naoki, so he glanced a few times and then walked away to explore the Porto Marinada Market.

Here, he saw people selling crops and milk from the ranch, fish and seafood caught from the water, and some selling handmade cooked foods.

Naoki was not very interested in these, so he walked through the food section and arrived at the stalls near the right side.

These stalls sold Pokemon supplies, like food, toys, and small Pokemon climbing frames.

Naoki picked up a flying disc, weighed it in his hand, and asked, ”Koraidon, what do you think about this?”

Koraidon looked at the disc, and in its mind appeared the scene of Naoki throwing it with force and itself running to retrieve it.

It quite liked this game, so it joyfully nodded its big head.

”ARghss!”

Alright, let’s buy it!

The ranch needed some Pokemon toys anyway.

The price of the flying disc wasn’t expensive, only 800 League Coins, so Naoki paid without hesitation and continued walking forward.

Just then, he suddenly noticed a small bag of special soil at a Pokemon food stall.

The soil was powdery and had a very special color, similar to metal.

”What is this?” Naoki asked curiously.

The stall owner glanced at Koraidon beside him and said with a smile:

”This is soil that’s very suitable for Steel Type and Rock Type Pokemon to eat, containing a rich amount of minerals and trace elements! It can greatly help in their bodily growth!”

”There’s such a thing? This is the first time I’ve heard of it,” Naoki said surprised.

The stall owner nodded with a smile, ”Of course, this is special soil dug from the mine pits in Zapapico Town, a specialty of that small town! The price isn’t high either, this small bag is only 1,500 League Coins!”

”Many trainers specializing in Rock Type and Steel Type often purchase these soils from me, I specially transport them from Zapapico Town!”

Upon hearing this, Naoki’s first thought was that the enhancing cuisine for Nacli was settled!

”The price of 1,500 isn’t high, whether it’s useful or not, I’ll first buy a bag to try!” With this thought, Naoki immediately said, ”I’ll take a bag!”

”Alrighty!”
