Not Being a Trainer This Time

Chapter 55: Chapter 45: Goat Milk Delivery Arrived

After returning to the ranch, Naoki was still in a state of confusion.

Judging from Koraidon’s actions and cries, it seemed that Koraidon first learned from Dragonite about its intention to become stronger, and Dragonite didn’t know what a Trainer was.

Then, Koraidon recommended him to Dragonite, telling it that he could help Pokemon become stronger.

Although saying so isn’t wrong...

So, Dragonite excitedly entered the Poke Ball, without realizing whether the other party might be a fraud.

Should it be called naive or silly?

Naoki couldn’t judge.

Koraidon landed in the ranch, and Naoki released Dragonite from the Poke Ball.

Seeing the wounds on it, Naoki took out a Berry once again.

This time, Dragonite accepted it without refusal, grabbed it with its claw, and ate the Berry excitedly.

As long as it becomes stronger and learns more moves, it can return to the island and prove itself to the Dragonite that thought it was weak!

So, how could it become stronger?

Dragonite looked expectantly at the human in front of it.

Naoki: ”...”

He couldn’t help but hold his forehead, ”Let’s call it a day, it’s getting late, tomorrow I’ll find a way to make you stronger.”

”Oowu...” Dragonite immediately felt a bit disappointed.

Since there wasn’t enough room in the cabin, Naoki put Dragonite back into the Poke Ball for the night, allowing it to sleep inside.

The next morning, the sky was bright.

Naoki got up and began working on the ranch with Cyclizar and Koraidon.

Dragonite followed eagerly behind them, waiting for someone to help it become stronger.

Naoki put feed and water in the Chicken House’s feeding trough, then turned around to see Dragonite closely following behind.

He immediately felt a bit speechless.

Naoki returned to the cabin and quickly fried a steak that could boost strength and stamina in a short time, and fed it to Dragonite.

After eating it, Dragonite’s eyes lit up, and it immediately felt a surge of power in its body, as if it had endless strength.

This made it more confident in front of the human.

Naoki: ”You stay on the ranch, I have some errands to run, we’ll talk in the afternoon.”

Ranch work is very busy, after feeding the chickens and watering, Naoki also had to go to town to buy some consumed daily necessities.

”Oowu...” Alright.

Naoki left Dragonite in Koraidon’s care, gave some simple instructions, and then rode Cyclizar to Porto Marinada Town.

This time, he mainly intended to buy some milking tools and ingredients.

The first stop, Naoki went to Happy Ranch.

Upon opening the door, he saw the girl who had previously delivered Alcremie and Smoliv to the ranch.

She was wearing an apron and holding a cloth, doing a thorough cleaning. Seeing Naoki, she immediately stood up and said, ”Mr. Naoki, good... good morning!”

”Hello.” Naoki looked around and asked, ”Where’s your grandpa?”

The girl replied, ”Grandpa had some business and went out today. If there’s anything you need, I can help too.”

Ah... Naoki didn’t ask more, straightforwardly stating his purpose.

The girl looked surprised, ”Did Mr. Naoki catch a milk-producing Pokemon?”

Naoki nodded slightly, ”That’s right, because the ranch is just starting up and there’s not enough funds to buy everything, I thought I’d just catch one myself.”

”I see, Mr. Naoki must have been a remarkable Trainer before!” The girl said while fetching an item from the back shelf, ”This is a milking machine, and besides this, there are milk cans and glass bottles.”

Usually, a Skiddo produces milk every two days, yielding about 2-3 kilograms of goat milk each time.

The rancher uses the milking machine to extract the milk into the milk cans, then bottles it in glass jars.

This way, the milk can be stored for personal consumption or to make cheese and other products, or it can be sold.

Depending on the quality, the price varies—the better the milk quality, the higher the price.

Normally, a small 300 ml bottle of goat milk is sold at around 200 League Coins.

Of course, the rancher can also sell it by the can, with the buyer paying according to the milk quantity.

Naoki had understood this beforehand.

He promptly purchased a milking machine, three milk cans, and 200 glass bottles meant for packaging.

These cost a total of 4,600 League Coins.

After paying, the girl said, ”Alright, I’ll deliver these items to your ranch later, Mr. Naoki.”

”Thanks a lot.”

Naoki thanked her politely, then rode Cyclizar to Porto Marinada Market to purchase a large amount of glutinous rice flour, white sugar, and many ingredients Pokemon usually eat.

Glutinous rice flour and white sugar combined with grass can make grass balls, which Skiddo loves, and he plans to make a lot of them as feed for Skiddo.

After finishing his errands, Naoki didn’t stay in town long.

When he rode Cyclizar back to the ranch, Keri’s construction team had already arrived to start working.

Seeing Naoki, Keri’s gaze fell on the nearby dazed Dragonite, revealing a look of surprise, ”I didn’t expect you to have caught such a rare Pokemon like Dragonite!”

Naoki: ”...” Could he say this Dragonite just followed him?

But Keri didn’t ask more, she was just making a casual remark before continuing her work.

Naoki turned and placed the purchased ingredients into the cupboard, and when he came out, the milking machine, milk cans, and glass bottles had also arrived.

After receiving the items from the girl, Naoki took them to the location of the three Skiddo.

The three Skiddo stood up obediently.

Naoki wrapped their milking organs with the milking machine, placed the milk can underneath, and with a gentle squeeze, a stream of sweet-smelling goat milk flowed into the can.

”Did I squeeze too hard? Do you feel uncomfortable anywhere?” Naoki asked.

”Baa~”

This Skiddo shook its head, indicating everything was fine.

”That’s good.”

Naoki breathed a sigh of relief and continued working.

After milking all three Skiddo, it barely filled one milk can, about fifteen pounds.

Naoki glanced at the specification, 7.5 liters.

”The glass bottle specification is 300 ml, priced at 200 League Coins each. 7.5 liters of goat milk can sell for about 5,000 League Coins.”

Naoki roughly calculated the profit from the goat milk in his heart.

With three Skiddo producing 5,000 every two days, that’s 75,000 a month, which translates to being able to buy seven Nacli, then money can make more money.

Finally struck it rich!

Naoki felt very happy.

The ranch finally has a stable income source!

He immediately carried the milk can back to the cabin, recalling the elderly lady who had come to order milk a few days ago.

He then took out the ledger from the drawer, found her phone number, and dialed it via a video phone.

After a few beeps, the call connected, and Naoki asked, ”Hello, Mrs. Dantes, this is Naoki Ranch. Fresh goat milk has arrived. Do you need any?”

Hearing this, Boji·Dantes’s voice over the phone revealed a hint of joy, and she quickly said, ”I do! Thank you so much! I’m very grateful!”

After a brief chat, Naoki learned about her requirements and address.

Customer Name: Boji·Dantes

Requirement: Daily morning delivery of two bottles of fresh goat milk, willing to pay 500 League Coins per bottle.

Address: 308 Blue Sea Street, Porto Marinada Town

”500 per bottle, that’s 1,000 for two, the normal market price is 400 for two, that’s a markup of 600. Such a price is outrageous...” Even as the seller, Naoki felt it was a bit absurd; perhaps they really needed it.

After thinking it over, he decided to sell it at the normal price, at most charging an additional 100 League Coins for delivery.

Besides, there’s another issue.

Who would deliver the milk to town every day?

Naoki pondered deeply.

Just then, a sound came from behind.

Naoki turned and saw Dragonite eagerly flying over, seemingly asking when it could begin helping to become stronger.

Naoki: ”...”

Alright, it’s decided that you’ll do it!

A smile appeared on his face, ”I’ve figured out a way to help you train!”

Dragonite’s eyes immediately lit up, ”Oowu?”

”Help me deliver milk!” Naoki patted its shoulder, explaining the job details to it.

After listening to Naoki’s explanation, Dragonite looked puzzled.

Can this really make me stronger?

Naoki persuaded, ”No, no, delivering isn’t as simple as you think. While delivering, you need to master flight skills, sustain efforts over a long time, which is beneficial for training your physical strength, making you stronger, and tempering your Guts.”

Dragonite: ”!”
