Not Being a Trainer This Time

Chapter 56: Chapter 46: Goat Milk Quality Up Up!

At noon, after finishing lunch for the Pokémon, Naoki began making green grass dumplings using the glutinous rice flour he bought and the grass cut from the pasture.

He wore a gray, dirt-resistant apron, and in front of him, on the cutting board, were washed and cut grass along with prepared syrup.

Under Naoki’s hands, the glutinous rice dough was constantly being rolled out into circular cakes.

The green grass dumplings, unlike traditional feed, cannot be stored for long, so Naoki planned to make about a week’s worth at a time.

Once the Skiddos have eaten them all, he’ll start making a new batch.

The afternoon sunlight streamed in through the window, and Naoki’s hands were covered with glutinous rice flour.

Outside in the pasture, Alcremie and Smoliv were playing around with the Nacli, while the Skiddos lounged leisurely on the grass. Koraidon and Dragonite seemed to be whispering about something, and Cyclizar dozed off in the shadow under the eaves.

Hearing the sounds from outside, Naoki suddenly felt this lifestyle was quite pleasant.

Stretching with a big yawn, Naoki began wrapping the dough around the grass, then put them all in the steamer, working until three-thirty in the afternoon to finish everything.

Each green dumpling looked like a newborn chubby boy, piled up in a large stainless-steel basin.

Naoki looked down, and the information about these dumplings appeared in his mind.

[Green Grass Dumplings (C): Made with glutinous rice flour as the skin and filled with tender grass that grows in spring and a small amount of white sugar as the filling to create this special dish.

Cooking Effect: Slightly improves the probability of Grass Type Pokémon comprehending Grass Type Moves after eating.

Additional Effect: Slightly increases the affection of Grass Type Pokémon

Evaluation: A creatively unconventional dish!]

”Able to slightly improve the probability of Pokémon comprehending Grass Type Moves...” Naoki pondered slightly, ”Eating this three times a day as a meal shouldn’t be an issue, right?”

Probably?

Naoki didn’t think too much about it, considering all the ingredients used in the green grass dumplings were quite normal.

Setting the green grass dumplings aside to cool, Naoki took rice and MooMoo Milk from the cupboard and began making milk porridge to enhance milk quality and nutrition.

This time he was smart, not cutting the Black Truffle directly into pieces but grating it into the dish using a grater.

Soon, a simple milk porridge was ready.

The effect was exactly the same as last time.

[Black Truffle Milk Porridge (S): A milk porridge added with Black Truffle, White Sugar, and MooMoo Milk. The addition of Black Truffle has greatly enhanced the quality of the dish.

Cooking Effect: Better Milk lv3, exclusive to milk-producing Pokémon; after eating it, it will greatly enhance the quality of the milk produced by the eater, making it taste better and more nutritious, while also having a rapid stamina recovery effect.

Evaluation: An exquisite milk porridge whose nutritional value is suitable for the growth of all Pokémon, a rare delicacy.]

Naoki served three bowls, bringing them to the Skiddos, and said with a smile, ”Drink up!”

The Skiddos immediately caught the rich aroma of milk; they usually consume some grains, so they do not resist foods like rice and milk.

Perhaps the flavor was truly exceptional, as the three Skiddos quickly finished the milk porridge, leaving their bowls spotless and even showing expressions of longing for more.

”What a pity they have to wait two days before producing milk again,” Naoki thought to himself.

Today, Naoki had already milked the Skiddos dry, so there was no immediate way to check the changes in their milk.

Before evolving, Skiddos produce milk every two days. Only after evolving into Gogoats do they produce milk daily, with an increase in both quantity and quality.

After feeding the Skiddos, Naoki went back to the wooden cabin and washed the bowls clean, then went to find Keri to discuss building a goat pen.

”A goat pen? That’s simple. For Skiddos, you just need to fence them in with wooden rails,” Keri said with a smile. ”That’s easier than building the Salt House. Fortunately, the Salt House will be completed by tomorrow morning, so I’ll bring the materials over then to help you build it.”

”Alright,” Naoki nodded.

The money earned from the last fishing trip left him with about fifteen thousand League currency. After building a goat pen, only five thousand would remain.

Naoki couldn’t help but marvel, ”It’s spent so quickly!” He barely felt it.

But thankfully, with Skiddos and Nacli on the farm, there’s a continuous source of income.

”Once the Salt House is completed tomorrow, the project of farming Nacli will officially begin. Combined with the milk from the Skiddos, within a month, the money will be earned back.”

”Hmm, the crops in the field are also about to mature, and they could bring in some money as well.”

Naoki pondered the to-do list for the farm.

But before that, he had something else to take care of, which was familiarizing Dragonite with the delivery route.

With this in mind, Naoki found Dragonite and said to it, ”Let’s go!”

”Roar!” Dragonite let out a joyful cry.

Naoki instructed Koraidon to stay behind and guard the farm while he rode on Dragonite’s back to fly to the town.

It seemed Dragonite didn’t mind being ridden at all.

Or rather, its mind was fully occupied with the desire to get stronger, not caring about such things.

The feeling was completely different from riding Koraidon; Dragonite was soft and cushy, making the touch feel very pleasant.

It’s just a pity he didn’t have a chance to touch its big belly.

Naoki lamented a little.

Dragonite flew in the sky, feeling a bit worried inside.

Flying like this didn’t seem much different from when it flew over the sea, would this really make it stronger?

Dragonite let out a questioning call.

Although they couldn’t communicate in words, based on Dragonite’s expression and tone, Naoki could roughly guess its meaning.

It was doubtful whether delivering goods would really make it stronger!

How could that be possible?

Naoki immediately said to Dragonite, ”Delivering goods isn’t just about the delivery; you need to feel everything during the process, the flow of the wind, the formation of air currents, or even the grass and trees by the roadside.”

”Use your eyes to see, in the process of constantly delivering goods, gradually get to know everything around you, understand, imitate, and finally master them.”

”You can learn to flap your wings by sensing the flow of the wind, imitating the process, or even merge yourself into the air currents.”

”No Dragonite is born knowing how to use those powerful moves; everyone needs a lot of practice and unyielding effort to skillfully master the moves they have learned.”

”Roar!”

What profound words!

Yet, why were they somewhat hard for Dragonite to understand?

However, they sure sounded impressive!

It must learn those powerful moves and become stronger!

Dragonite immediately became full of fighting spirit.
