Chapter 91: Chapter 74: Teddiursa: Was I Taken Advantage Of?

The number of Pokemon in the room was numerous, and Teddiursa couldn’t possibly steal all the honey under so many watchful eyes.

Taken aback by Naoki’s actions, Teddiursa instinctively wanted to push him away with its paw, but halfway through, it suddenly remembered its true purpose for coming here. It then withdrew its paw.

”Hold on! I must hold on! The sweet and delicious honey is right ahead!” Teddiursa thought.

For the sake of honey, it began to endure humiliation and decided that it would steal all the honey this human had stored without leaving a drop!

At this moment, Teddiursa saw the human finally stop, and its heart also breathed a sigh of relief.

Naoki took Teddiursa back to the cabin.

Seeing this scene, Teddiursa’s heart was filled with joy.

The bait worked!

But in the next second, Teddiursa felt something wasn’t right.

The human seemed to be preparing dinner.

It was placed on a wooden stool, and when it looked up, it found itself surrounded by a group of Pokemon.

Koraidon, Cyclizar, Dragonite, Pawmi, Alcremie...

Looking at the big red lizard, cold sweat began to form in Teddiursa’s heart.

What kind of Pokemon is this? Its aura is so terrifying! If they discover its true intentions, it will be doomed!

Strongly suppressing its internal panic, Teddiursa put on a friendly smile and greeted: ”One~”

”Ah, hiss?”

Koraidon’s eyeballs rolled around; it seemed to think of something and didn’t pay attention to Teddiursa, opting to lie on the side and wait for dinner instead.

Pawmi, being naturally lively, greeted Teddiursa.

”Bamo~” Don’t be afraid, Naoki is really nice!

Indeed! Very nice. Teddiursa cooperatively chuckled twice.

Very soon, Naoki came over with dinner.

Although dinner was sumptuous, Teddiursa was focused on how to steal honey and wasn’t interested in other food. Even faced with the human’s hospitality, it only ate one berry.

After dinner, Naoki briefly washed up before going to bed early to rest.

Pretending not to know Teddiursa’s intentions, he said to it: ”Since you’ve gotten lost, stay here overnight and see if you can find your way home tomorrow morning when the sun rises.”

”One~” You’ll never see me again tomorrow, Teddiursa outwardly nodded with joy, but internally had a different thought.

Once the night is deep and this human and those Pokemon are all asleep, it’s time for it to act.

Steal all the honey and return to the forest nest to slowly enjoy it.

Just thinking about it makes Teddiursa excited!

However, in the next second, it was scooped up by the human and tucked into the warm bed.

Teddiursa: ”?! ”

Pawmi climbed onto the blanket and soothed: ”Bamo~” Don’t be afraid, Naoki likes you, so he’s using Nuzzle.

Teddiursa twitched its mouth: ”One...”

The room lights were turned off.

Teddiursa closed its eyes, held its breath, pretending to sleep, while actually waiting for the opportunity.

Time slowly passed, and after a long while, all around was left in pitch darkness; everyone and the Pokemon seemed to have fallen asleep.

Teddiursa opened its eyes wide; its vision was excellent, allowing it to see clearly even at night.

It used its paw to prop itself up on the bed, observing the surroundings.

The human before it had his eyes tightly closed, with steady breathing coming from his nose.

The red Pokemon and the other Cyclizar lay by the bed, resting on their paws, seemingly asleep as well.

It’s time!

Teddiursa’s heart stirred, wanting to secretly get up and leave, to flee with the honey.

But before it could rise, the human unexpectedly turned over and tightened his arm, holding it tightly in his embrace.

Teddiursa hurriedly held its breath, not daring to breathe.

Has it been discovered?

Teddiursa felt guilty.

After so many times, this was its first encounter with such a strange human.

Though other ranch humans would just bring it to the house without sleeping cuddling it like this.

After a while, the human did not make any further moves.

Teddiursa closed its eyes, pretending to sleep.

After a long time, the surroundings finally became completely silent.

The deep night was quiet; it was the perfect time to act!

The human seemed to be in a deep sleep too, as moments before, he unconsciously drew back his arm, turning over.

Good opportunity!

Teddiursa hurriedly crawled out from the covers, lightly grabbed the sheet, and slid down to the floor under the moonlight, moving stealthily.

It sneaked past the sleeping Koraidon and Cyclizar, seeing them still asleep, not forgetting to breathe a sigh of relief.

As it got closer to the door, Teddiursa’s heart was filled with joy.

Reflecting on how much it endured throughout the night for this moment.

Hateful humans! How dare they put their face on its belly—that’s something only close ones can do!

Now it would take revenge by stealing all their honey!

Finally, it reached the door.

Teddiursa carefully opened a crack, expertly squeezing through.

Returning outside, Teddiursa immediately dashed towards the beehive.

The familiar beehive stood on the grass, surrounded by moonlight.

The three honey-gathering Combee stacked together, sleeping inside.

Teddiursa reached the hive, but upon seeing the situation inside, it was dumbfounded.

Where’s the delicious sweet honey?

Why were there absolutely none?

It used its paw to groped the hive, only touching a little residual honey.

What’s happening? Teddiursa looked confused, its eyes flashing disbelief.

Had it been fooled?

Thinking of enduring humiliation for a night just to end up with nothing, Teddiursa suddenly felt hopeless.

What to do?

Teddiursa stood at a crossroads in its life, becoming confused for the first time.

Should it abandon the ranch’s honey and leave? Or stay to find where the human hid the honey and look for a chance to steal it?

Teddiursa wanted to choose the latter, but it was too risky.

Through its observations, Teddiursa found the ranch’s Pokemon were no pushovers.

If discovered, its fate might be miserable.

Teddiursa licked the honey stains from its paw, savoring the delicious honey while making up its mind.

No way! I absolutely can’t let it go like this!

Thinking that, Teddiursa turned around and headed back to the cabin.

Under the moonlight, Butterfree watched Teddiursa’s actions, showing confusion.

”Moo-ee?”

Teddiursa didn’t realize its actions were exposed. It squeezed through the door crack, seeing no one wake up, it sighed with relief.

Teddiursa retraced its route to climb onto the bed, squeeze into the covers, lying beside the human as though nothing happened, then closed its eyes to rest.

After a long time, Naoki quietly opened his eyes, glancing at the peacefully lying Teddiursa, thinking this Teddiursa has quite the guts.

If it evolves into Ursaring, its characteristic might become Guts.

But given the situation, he wouldn’t show mercy.

Thinking that, Naoki smiled, then closed his eyes to sleep.

The next morning, Naoki woke up to Pawmi’s calls.

He opened his eyes and saw Pawmi perched on his chest.

”Bamo~”

Sunshine outside poured in through the window, signaling a new day, Pawmi cheerfully greeted him.

Seeing Pawmi’s appearance, Naoki reached out to touch its head, smiling: ”Morning!”

”Bamo!”

Naoki got out of bed, turning to see the awakened Teddiursa.

Playing the role till the end, he deliberately asked: ”Good morning, Teddiursa. Do you remember where you got lost? Does your family have any adults? Like Ursaring, for example. Where did you live before?”

Upon hearing these questions, Teddiursa was dumbfounded.

Why say it all?

But for the honey, it decided to continue pretending.
