Not Being a Trainer This Time

Chapter 82: Chapter 67: Phone Call

Miss Joy stared blankly at the three Sprightly Skiddo on the grass.

She had never seen such Pokemon.

Using moves was as easy for them as walking or eating; they could perform so many moves effortlessly with the slightest motion.

And every move seemed to be quite skillfully executed.

Grassy Terrain, Leaf Blade in their mouths, three Skiddo...

Is this reasonable?

After a long while, Miss Joy finally spoke: ”I’m very sorry, I can’t give a comment on this matter.”

Naoki: ”...”

Miss Joy continued: ”But don’t worry, looking at the Skiddo, the energy inside them might not have a bad impact on them.”

”Also, the physical examination didn’t show any problems; these Skiddo are very healthy. As long as they get plenty of exercise, they can quickly return to a normal physique.”

Hearing this, Naoki couldn’t help but breathe a sigh of relief.

That’s good, that’s good.

”So, as long as they vent out their excess energy every day, it should be fine, right?” Naoki asked.

Miss Joy nodded gently: ”It seems to be the case currently. Venting can also help Skiddo practice those moves, achieving a training effect, allowing them to proficiently use the moves they have already learned.”

Perhaps the Leaf Blade in their mouths is a testament to these Skiddo mastering the move to perfection? Joy thought.

”Alright,” Naoki thanked politely, ”Thank you very much, Miss Joy.”

Miss Joy smiled softly, packing up her inspection tools, when she suddenly remembered something.

”Oh, right!”

Naoki: ”What?”

Joy explained: ”Besides what I just mentioned, I once heard a theory from a professor.”

”The evolution of Pokemon is actually a significant leap in their life level. Based on the depth of their reserves before evolution, the deeper the foundation, the stronger they become after evolving.”

”Like Magikarp evolving into Gyarados.”

”These Grass Type energies should also be considered a type of foundation, right? Once these three Skiddo evolve, they might become really powerful!”

Is that so?

Naoki was slightly taken aback, pondering over Joy’s words.

The consultation over, after Naoki paid the fee, Miss Joy left the ranch riding Cyclizar.

Naoki watched the three Skiddo running around and shook his head helplessly.

Just then, a raindrop suddenly fell from the sky.

Naoki paused, looking up to see that a cluster of clouds had gathered over the ranch without him noticing.

Accompanied by the first raindrop, as though a switch had been flipped, more rain began to drizzle down from the sky.

It started to rain.

Feeling the raindrops falling from above, the three Skiddo dancing in the grass stopped. They looked up at the sky, then bounced happily back under the rain shelter, standing there with bright eyes watching the outside.

A raindrop fell on the face of Smoliv who was resting on the grass.

It blinked, looking up to see Butterfree fly overhead, landing on a wooden box under the eaves.

”Maa!”

In the grass, Alcremie playing butterfly-catching with Nacli got soaked, exclaiming and then quickly led them back to the Salt House, watching the rain from inside.

Outside the Chicken House, Pawmi, who was working diligently, felt the rain start and quickly began herding the chickens indoors.

Even Combee stopped collecting nectar, fluttering back to their hive to wait quietly for the rain to stop.

Seeing the rain, Naoki felt somewhat surprised.

Why?

It was clearly Sunny Day just now?

At this moment, as if he realized something, he quickly turned his head and saw Dragonite not far away looking excitedly at the sky.

Naoki ran over through the rain and asked, ”Did you learn it?”

Dragonite was very excited: ”Rawr!”

”That’s great!”

Naoki genuinely felt happy for Dragonite.

The first time using Rain Dance, Dragonite was not very adept.

This caused the brief shower to last for about three minutes before stopping.

The clouds dispersed, revealing the sun overhead once again.

But even so, Dragonite was still very happy.

Having experienced learning Dragon Tail, it believed that with continued practice, it could perform a more powerful Rain Dance!

Just like Naoki said, making the whole world shrouded in its rain!

Dragonite gazed at the vast sky, filled with ambition and determination.

Naoki: ”...”

Near noon, Naoki took a short break and then returned to the cabin to start preparing lunch for everyone.

Just then, the video phone placed at the end of the bed suddenly rang.

”Huh? Who would call me at this time?” Naoki wondered.

He scrubbed his egg-stained hands clean and went over to answer.

In the next second, Professor Sada’s energetic face appeared on the screen.

She was still wearing her lab coat, with a beast-tooth necklace around her neck, hair let down, looking over this way.

Behind her was a silver-white metal wall filled with a sci-fi atmosphere, seemingly part of a research lab.

”Long time no see, Naoki.” Professor Sada greeted with a smile.
