Not Being a Trainer This Time

Chapter 79: Chapter 64: Captured, the Moonlight Thief!

When it feels uneasy, Pawmi will rub its cheeks to prepare to discharge electricity. It first rubs its cheeks back and forth to charge up, and then releases Thunder Shock from the pads of its hands to shock the opponent by touching them with both hands.

Naoki still remembers the related descriptions about this.

However, Koraidon didn’t feel scared at all by Pawmi’s Thunder Shock; instead, it smiled at Pawmi as if greeting it.

The result of this was that Pawmi used Thunder Shock, and Koraidon was enveloped in Spark.

Basking in the Spark, Koraidon still looked unscathed, as if Pawmi’s Thunder Shock didn’t affect it at all.

Naoki: ”...”

As expected of a Dragon-type Pokemon that doubly resists electricity.

Seeing its move couldn’t harm this big red-skinned monster, Pawmi was dumbfounded.

How could this be?

Naoki walked up speechlessly, looking at this little Pawmi.

At this moment, Pawmi finally averted its gaze from Koraidon and noticed other Pokemon around, as well as the owner of this ranch.

Seeing the other party walking toward it, Pawmi’s heart skipped a beat, full of fear.

It had been caught!

Pawmi recalled the warnings from its parents: some bad guys would hunt them as prey, and they must turn around and escape immediately when encountered.

But now, with this scary red-skinned monster here, it was impossible to escape.

At this moment, Pawmi was stunned, with only one thought left in its mind:

It was over; it was going to be eaten by the other party!

Pawmi fearfully closed its eyes.

Naoki: ”...” What’s going on in this little brain?

Are they that scary?

”Listen, Pawmi, no one here will hurt you,” Naoki said.

”Babu?” Pawmi froze for a moment.

Thinking of its previous sneaky behavior of eating chicken feed, Naoki turned and took a Pecha Berry from the cabinet and placed it in front of Pawmi.

”Here you go, are you hungry? Eat up!”

Pawmi was stunned, then looked at the Pecha Berry in front of it in disbelief.

This human didn’t blame it!

Not only that, but he also gave it a Berry!

Pawmi was indeed very hungry, and after confirming there was no danger, it immediately picked up the Berry and began to munch on it.

Naoki sent the surrounding Pokémon to sleep and asked after Pawmi finished eating, ”Is your home nearby?”

After eating that Pecha Berry, Pawmi was not so afraid of the human in front of it.

Upon hearing this question, Pawmi lowered its head sadly: ”Babu...”

It seemed not, so Naoki asked, ”Then is it very far away?”

This time, Pawmi nodded.

It previously lived on a meadow, and it was accidentally packed into a Bombirdier’s bag with a stone while sleeping next to a rock during migration.

When it woke up again, it had already been brought here by that Bombirdier.

It was very scared then, and it used Thunder Shock in Bombirdier’s bag, which scared Bombirdier into dropping it and the stone.

Fortunately, it fell into the river and wasn’t hurt, and next to that river was this ranch.

Seeing Pawmi nod, Naoki continued to ask, ”Do you remember the way home?”

”Babu...”

Pawmi shook its head sadly; it couldn’t see anything inside Bombirdier’s bag at the time.

”Alright.” Naoki took a deep breath and summarized, ”So, your home is far away, and you were brought here for some reason and don’t remember the way back?”

Pawmi nodded: ”Babu.” Something like that.

However, Naoki was still somewhat puzzled. How did such a small Pawmi come here?

Thinking of this, he asked it.

To this, Pawmi wobbly stood up, then flapped its little arms as if flying.

It looked around, then opened its mouth to hold Pecha Berry’s pit in its mouth, puffing its cheeks.

After ”flying” for a while, Pawmi opened its mouth to spit out the pit.

Naoki was baffled. What did this mean?

He tentatively asked, ”Did you fly here?”

”Babu!” Pawmi shook its head.

”Then did you come here to play and accidentally get lost?”

”Babu...” Pawmi continued to shake its head.

Then there was only one possibility left.

Naoki thought of Pawmi’s pit-spitting and wing-flapping actions, behavior reminding him of a Paldea Region Pokemon, Bombirdier.

This was a bird Pokemon based on a stork which made bags with its chest feathers and cast-off feathers, using its mouth to put things inside and throwing them from high places for fun, carrying food back to its nest with the bag on its chest.

Could it be...

An incredible thought suddenly came to Naoki’s mind, ”Did Bombirdier bring you here?”

”Babu Babu!” Pawmi’s eyes suddenly lit up, nodding repeatedly.

”So that’s actually it?” Naoki was very surprised.

It was quite like a fairy tale, like Thumbelina riding a leaf drifting downstream.

Naoki asked, ”So have you thought about what to do next?”

Pawmi’s expression turned gloomy, ”Babu...”

Naoki timely asked, ”So, would you like to stay at the ranch and work with us?”

Hearing this, Pawmi froze.

”Babu?” Can I?

”Of course.” Naoki laughed, ”In our human world, it’s called employment. You help me work, and I provide you with food so you won’t go hungry anymore.”

”Babu...” But it didn’t know what it could do...

The so-called employment was just a casual reason Naoki found. After thinking for a moment, he casually said, ”How about managing the chicken flock? Of course, you don’t need to feed them, just watch over them to prevent them from running off the ranch or wild Pokémon from coming to harm them.”

”Babu!”

Pawmi nodded and agreed.

Seeing his purpose achieved, Naoki felt a burst of joy in his heart.

His ranch finally had a fluffy Pokémon!

And just like that, Pawmi settled down at the ranch.

Early the next morning, when Pawmi saw MooMoo Milk and various delicious foods on the dining table, a shocked expression appeared on its little face.

”Babu...”

Naoki looked at it with satisfaction and said, ”Eat! After breakfast, I’ll give you a bath.”

This Pawmi didn’t know where it had been digging; it was dirty, and its fur even clung to two burdocks.

Pawmi immediately started to eat happily. After eating a piece of pastry, it shed tears of joy.

It was the most delicious food it had eaten these days!

After breakfast, Dragonite went to the town to deliver milk, Alcremie and Smoliv went to play with Nacli, while Naoki heated a pot of water to give Pawmi a warm bath.

Koraidon and Cyclizar lay not far away, watching this side.

Naoki applied shower gel on Pawmi, and soon, a fragrant, clean Pawmi was freshly bathed.

Without a hairdryer at home, Naoki first used a blanket to dry Pawmi and then called Butterfree to use Gust to help blow Pawmi’s fur.

Butterfree flapped its wings, and a moderate whirlwind came, with Pawmi closing its eyes, enjoying the breeze.

Butterfree, seeing Pawmi, remembered using Sleep Powder on it last night and gently apologized: ”Mui-yii.”

Hearing this, Pawmi also became a bit embarrassed: ”Babu...”

Butterfree felt very happy: ”Mui~”

”Babu!”

Naoki didn’t understand Pokémon language, but seeing their behaviors seemed like they got along well.

Soon, Pawmi’s fur was dry.

Butterfree stopped, and Naoki lifted Pawmi high by its armpits.

Pawmi cried out in surprise against the light, ”Babu!”

”How cute!” thought Naoki as he nestled his face into Pawmi’s fluffy, soft belly, indulging in its texture.

Ah~ It’s really so cute!
