Chapter 521: Amamiya Kenichi: I’m Just Reading from the Script, What’s Wrong with That?

”Now, the entire Shinobi World has been unified by me. All ninja villages and all lands now exist within one nation. However, that doesn’t mean the demon of war has vanished from this world. That monster will only lurk in the shadows, waiting for an opportunity to resurface.”

Kenichi looked at Jiraiya and Tsunade and spoke seriously.

”And now, I’ve discovered a ninja who was hidden extremely deeply and possesses extraordinary strength. There was no news of him before. No movement whatsoever. It was only recently that I accidentally detected him.”

After hearing Kenichi’s words, Tsunade and Jiraiya could not help exchanging glances.

They even doubted whether this was true.

But considering that Kenichi, though a little bastard, sometimes acted with great discretion and generally would not play overly outrageous jokes, since he had said it, then such an extraordinarily powerful ninja probably did exist.

However, as soon as Jiraiya thought of this, his expression became even more solemn.

For Kenichi to be this nervous, even going so far as to use Edo Tensei to revive them, the strength of this opponent was probably beyond imagination.

Just as he was thinking this, Jiraiya noticed that on the platform behind Kenichi, there were many skeletons.

Those white bones were laid out there, looking somewhat unsettling.

But Jiraiya’s expression became even worse.

Jiraiya had become one of Konoha’s Three Sannin not just because of his strength, but also because of his combat intelligence.

Although Jiraiya had seemed a bit lacking when facing Pain, it was undeniable that he had probed out a great deal of information in that battle, laying the foundation for Naruto’s fight.

Moreover, Jiraiya would not have died if he had not been so persistent in gathering intelligence.

Therefore, upon seeing those skeletons, Jiraiya immediately thought of something.

Those skeletons were used by Kenichi, that little bastard, to perform Edo Tensei.

Then who would be revived through Edo Tensei?

Just look at himself and Tsunade.

He and Tsunade both possessed Kage level strength, which was very powerful.

By analogy, these skeletons were probably the remains of other Kage level powerhouses.

And Kenichi, that little bastard, had prepared so many of them.

Thinking of this, Jiraiya felt a chill in his heart.

What kind of opponent warranted such treatment from Kenichi?

Not to mention, with so many Kage level powerhouses appearing, even Kenichi himself would find it extremely difficult to resolve.

Even against an opponent on Madara’s level, if Hashirama were present, solving the problem would not be too difficult.

But Kenichi had prepared so many skeletons.

It was as if he had dug up the legendary Sage of Six Paths to be an enemy.

”How strong is he? Are you and Madara not enough? And you even dug up so many skeletons. What kind of enemy are you facing?”

Jiraiya could not help asking seriously as he pointed at the skeletons behind Kenichi.

It was mainly because the sight looked too terrifying.

Even Jiraiya felt immense pressure.

Only then did Tsunade notice the corpses behind Kenichi.

Her eyes showed even more surprise and unease.

After all, Tsunade had been Hokage.

She deeply understood that if so many Kage level powerhouses needed to unite, then the enemy must be incredibly powerful.

And thinking about it further, Kenichi and Madara were already very strong.

But now, Kenichi still needed to use Edo Tensei on herself and Jiraiya, and there were also so many corpses prepared.

What level of opponent was Kenichi facing that made him so uneasy, even forcing him to resort to such measures?

”...Although it’s just a guess, all I can tell you is that the enemy is terrifyingly strong. Madara went to confront him, and he was beaten to near death before he even had the chance to make the opponent break a sweat.”

Kenichi pinched his brow.

Jigen’s identity could not be explicitly stated, but Kenichi had not been idle during this time.

He had consulted a large number of ancient books, family archives, and genealogies, then found some clues about ancient times in a collection of books from the Land of Earth.

It explicitly mentioned certain terms.

Kenichi had now organized those materials and kept them.

He planned to uncover this mystery later and let the people of the Shinobi World know some of this world’s history.

At the very least, he wanted to make sure that Kaguya, the final boss, would not appear too abruptly.

After all, this was the real world.

Since Kaguya existed, there had to be records of her.

In fact, Kenichi’s idea was correct.

He had indeed found information about Kaguya.

Although it was not recorded very clearly and did not state her name, it was enough.

What Kenichi did not know was that as he spoke, Black Zetsu, who was underground, showed surprise and panic in his eyes.

But after a moment of silence, Black Zetsu still did not come out.

Instead, he continued listening quietly.

He wanted to see what Kenichi knew and whether it would affect his plans.

If it did, how should he adjust them?

Thinking of this, Black Zetsu quieted down.

He wanted to see what Kenichi had discovered.

”Since the Land of Flame unified the entire Shinobi World, I collected all the books from the Shinobi World for classification and organization. During this process, I discovered a book in the home of the Land of Earth’s Daimyo that recorded some very interesting things.”

Kenichi paused briefly, then continued.

”This book, titled Ninja World Miscellany, recorded: [In the earliest world, there was no chakra and no ninja. People worshipped various gods until one day, night turned into day. People knelt in panic, begging for the gods’ forgiveness, only to find that the gods had descended from their divine realm in the heavens to the world. They planted a tree, and relying on that tree, people multiplied, lived, and developed a large tribe. The gods occasionally bestowed favors upon the people, making them stronger.]”

Kenichi continued speaking.

Black Zetsu’s eyes narrowed.

”[Later, one of the gods disappeared, and another became the Ancestor of Chakra. She wielded chakra, allowing people to master chakra and become ninja. The gods also had two children, one of whom had horns on his head and wore a white feathered robe.]”

Kenichi was still speaking.

Black Zetsu fell silent.

Why would anyone in this world casually record such things?

Was this not exposing his mother’s identity?

And the child mentioned in the book, even Black Zetsu could tell, was the Sage of Six Paths.

That traitor who betrayed his mother.

That madman.

That utter madman.

Thinking of this, Black Zetsu gnashed his teeth in anger.

He would make that traitor pay the price sooner or later.

However, considering that he was already dead, Black Zetsu’s mood gradually calmed down.

”The Sage of Six Paths?”

Jiraiya could not help interjecting.

The description of the second child immediately sounded like the Sage of Six Paths.

So, the Sage of Six Paths had a mother?

And where did the other god go?

What about the Sage of Six Paths’ mother?

In an instant, countless questions appeared, filling Jiraiya’s mind with doubt.

”Hmm. To summarize, it then says that the Sage of Six Paths and another child fought with their mother. Finally, the Ancestor of Chakra disappeared, and the Sage of Six Paths’ sibling also disappeared. The Sage of Six Paths spread ninjutsu and eventually disappeared as well, forming the current Shinobi World.”

Kenichi nodded.

This story was not very complex.

But its wonder lay in the fact that it truly recorded many useful things, such as Kaguya, the Ancestor of Chakra, and the Sage of Six Paths.

However, these were not the reasons Kenichi brought this up today.

He brought this up today for one very small matter.

To talk about his current enemy.

”This is...”

Jiraiya took a deep breath.

He knew more about the Sage of Six Paths, as the Great Toad Sage had mentioned him before.

So Jiraiya naturally knew of him.

Comparing that account with what Kenichi said, it became clear that Kenichi was correct.

This meant that the Shinobi World indeed had such a history.

But what was Kenichi’s reason for saying this?

Jiraiya had not forgotten that Kenichi was bringing this up to tell them who their enemy was.

But what did this have to do with the Sage of Six Paths?

Then Jiraiya gasped.

Kenichi, that little rascal, would not joke around.

So all of this...

”I suspect that the hidden individual is the other god who disappeared back then.”

Kenichi took a deep breath and spoke seriously.

Instantly, the entire room fell silent.

Jiraiya’s mouth hung open.

Tsunade’s eyes widened.

Black Zetsu remained silent.

He felt that Kenichi was right.

He also knew some things about what had happened back then.

However, regarding Jigen, Black Zetsu had initially thought he might be the Sage of Six Paths or the other unfilial son.

But after listening to Kenichi, Black Zetsu actually felt that this was quite possible.

The messages his mother had left him were not many.

She had only briefly mentioned planting the Divine Tree, stating that his mother had sacrificed the person who was originally meant to eat the Divine Tree’s fruit to the tree.

That person died.

His mother survived, ate the fruit, and then said no more.

However, Black Zetsu had never doubted this aspect, because he believed that what his mother said must be true.

”Why that vanished god?”

Jiraiya could not help asking.

He thought the Sage of Six Paths’ other sibling was even more likely.

”The reason is simple. The Sage of Six Paths is already dead. And according to the information I’ve gathered, the Sage of Six Paths’ other sibling left this world and settled on the moon. He also died. So, the only remaining mystery is the other vanished god mentioned in the records.”

Kenichi shrugged.

”I even suspect that the disappearance of that god is somehow related to the remaining god.”

”In my opinion, so-called gods are just more powerful ninja. Ninja even stronger than the Sage of Six Paths. Why did these ninja come to this world? The records don’t mention anything else about their arrival in this world. They only say that the god planted a sky-covering Divine Tree.”

”But where is that Divine Tree now? It can’t be seen.”

”I have reason to suspect that the Divine Tree was the god’s purpose for coming to this world, but I don’t know what its use was. However, the other vanished god is a big mystery.”

”In my opinion, that vanished god and the Sage of Six Paths’ mother might have had some conflict. The god was severely wounded or defeated by the Sage of Six Paths’ mother, which is why he hid and has been recuperating. Otherwise, I don’t understand why that person is so strong yet has remained anonymous all this time.”

Kenichi was working backward from the answer.

But others did not know that.

Others would only find Kenichi’s explanation a bit forced, but not impossible.

However, the more Black Zetsu listened, the more he felt that this was indeed the case.

Although his mother’s memories indicated that the other person had died, what if he had not?

Black Zetsu fell silent, his mood heavy.

If that person was indeed his mother’s companion, then his long period of anonymity made sense.

Being severely injured, he naturally would not dare show himself casually.

Only when he had mostly recovered would he emerge.

No wonder he had been hidden for so long without being discovered by Black Zetsu.

Thinking of this, Black Zetsu felt a little nervous.

No.

No matter what, he had to kill that guy this time.

Otherwise, with that person’s existence, his mother’s revival plan could go wrong.

Who knew how much information he had probed in Amegakure?

Perhaps while Black Zetsu was deceiving Madara and using him as a pawn, Black Zetsu himself had become a pawn in the other party’s hands.

Once suspicion arose, it was easy to become paranoid.

And Black Zetsu was in exactly such a state.

He even began to suspect whether he was also part of Jigen’s plan, which made Black Zetsu extremely nervous.

He hurriedly left.

He needed to quickly check his contingencies and see whether anyone had tampered with them.

He did not want to become someone else’s pawn.

If Kenichi knew Black Zetsu’s thoughts, he would surely mock him.

Jigen never appeared in the anime.

He was an NPC from Boruto: Naruto Next Generations.

This meant that in the main series, Jigen was completely inactive, a boss inserted later simply to continue drawing Naruto and making money, just like Kaguya’s abrupt appearance at the end.

Jigen’s appearance was also quite sudden.

However, Kenichi did not know this.

He was currently waiting for Jiraiya and Tsunade’s answer, as he still had to use Edo Tensei on the others later.
