Merging with Demon Spirits

Chapter 93: Chapter 83: Demon Hunter

”Roar!”

A harrowing scream.

A Demon Beast fell with a crash, its body twitching a few times before lying still.

Whoosh...

The dagger was withdrawn!

A crimson blood arrow shot out.

In the dense forest, Lin Feng skillfully cut up the spoils with his dagger, while the floating Demon Spirit was casually absorbed into his body as food for the Nightmare.

Suddenly, Lin Feng stopped, reaching behind with his right hand, and a pitch-black war bow appeared in his hand. The bow was drawn into a full moon shape as Lin Feng released the bowstring. A sharp whistling sound pierced the air, and the arrow shot out like lightning.

Eighty meters away, a Wind Leopard was hiding in the grass, its yellow pupils fixed on Lin Feng. It was crouching, ready to ambush, but as Lin Feng turned and picked up the war bow, it prepared to flee. However, before it could escape, the sharp arrow was in front of it, piercing through its right eye and shooting out seven or eight meters further before embedding with a ’thud’ in a large tree.

Blood flowed from the Wind Leopard’s grotesque, hollow right eye, and soon its heart stopped beating.

Wind Leopard, a wind attribute Demon Beast, as fast as a gale. Even a team of five would find it troublesome, yet it died so easily under Lin Feng’s arrow.

And this is the mighty strength of an archer.

An archer’s attack is not as powerful as a warrior’s, not as agile as an Assassin, and lacks the destructive power of a Mage. If caught in close combat, even a Thief could kill them.

But as long as they kept a distance, a formidable Divine Archer would instill fear in all professions, even in the Assassin.

Entering the forest, Lin Feng forcefully retrieved the arrow embedded in the tree. This Grade-Three alloy arrow was extremely hard, without a single scratch, and worth ten thousand New Coin, reusable many times.

After harvesting the spoils, Lin Feng moved like a ghost.

Relying on speed and combat skills, Lin Feng resembled a Demon Hunter, continuously reaping the lives of First Grade Demon Beasts.

As the hunting continued, the pack on Lin Feng’s back grew heavier.

While hunting the Demon Beasts, Lin Feng drank their blood and ate their raw flesh, enhancing the Qi and Blood within his body. Due to consuming too much flesh and blood, even Lin Feng’s body struggled to digest it, causing the Qi and Blood to accumulate within.

”Ye Qiu’s diary only recorded that the Nightmare absorbed Essence Qi, but it seems unable to absorb Qi and Blood!”

Lin Feng’s expression was a bit grim.

He discovered that the Qi and Blood accumulating in his body were quickly absorbed by the Nightmare, which became eerily red.

”Forget it, strength is all that matters.”

Lin Feng didn’t dwell on it much, since there was nothing he could do.

After some time of hunting, Lin Feng’s expression became colder, his eyes showing a disregard for life.

Whoosh!

Suddenly, as Lin Feng was about to leave, a shadow emerged from behind him, pouncing fiercely.

”Red-eyed Demon Monkey?”

Lin Feng swiftly retreated, avoiding the attack. The whooshing sound continued as a red-eyed monkey circled him rapidly, shrieking.

Meanwhile, a giant black-and-white striped tiger also appeared beside Lin Feng. In the jungle behind this tiger, a pair of yellow eyes were watching intently—a Tiger Cat.

”Surrounded, although they’re all First Grade Demon Beasts, having three appear at once is tough to handle.”

Lin Feng thought to himself, ”Kill the Monkey Demon first, its speed should be the fastest, then the Tiger Demon, finally...”

As Lin Feng was still contemplating, the Red-eyed Demon Monkey attacked, its claws swiping while screeching as it lunged at him. Lin Feng moved, appearing behind it. With a swoosh, his right leg lashed out like a black lightning bolt at the monkey’s head.

If it connected, Lin Feng’s explosive power was enough to smash its head.

But unfortunately, the Demon Monkey was very small and extremely fast, vanishing in a flash.

The Tiger Demon pounced at Lin Feng, its tail swinging like an iron rod, trying to knock him away.

The Tiger Cat, meanwhile, stayed on the side, watching for opportunities to sneak an attack.

Under the combined assault of the three Demon Beasts, Lin Feng constantly dodged. Each of these Demon Beasts was stronger than him. In a one-on-one, Lin Feng could win with experience, but surrounded, he was hard-pressed to cope.

Lin Feng was still in the Body Cultivation Realm, unable to unleash Martial Skills. Although an archer, in this encirclement, a bow was less effective than a dagger; he relied solely on pure Body Techniques, each move simple and direct.

Finally, after a fierce battle, Lin Feng managed to kill the Monkey Demon, sustaining a wound, blood staining his body. Fortunately, he wasn’t attacked by the Tiger Demon, and at one point, deliberately let the Tiger Cat graze him. With an open chest wound deep into the flesh, he killed it.

In the end, Lin Feng, already somewhat exhausted, carefully used speed and patience to kill the Tiger Demon.

When all three Demon Beasts were dead, Lin Feng had just finished harvesting the Demon Spirits and was about to take a rest when suddenly the howl of wolves echoes. A pack of First Grade Wolf Demons smelled the scent of blood and came rushing over, giving him no time to breathe.

Lin Feng was feeling fatigued, not only physically but mentally as well. His mind was extremely weary, highly concentrated, for any lapse in focus would mean being swallowed whole by the Demon Beasts.

All the Wolf Demons quietly snarled as they charged recklessly from all directions. Their pairs of fierce, cold fangs aimed at various parts of Lin Feng’s body.

”Fight!”

No running, no hesitation, with a loud shout, Lin Feng immediately charged into the wolf pack. At such close range, a primal battle began.

Holding a dagger, Lin Feng’s hands, feet, head, and all parts of his body became perfect killing weapons. His movements simple and direct, exuding the beauty of violence.

In the fierce battle.

Bang!

A dark shadow shot out. Lin Feng flew backwards in the air, hitting the ground, dragging his legs through the mud and leaving a deep mark before he stabilized himself, with intense panting and his chest heaving.

Five bloody wounds spread across his body, but soon the bleeding stopped.

”Is this recovery ability brought by the Nightmare?”

Lin Feng glanced at his wounds, slightly bloodthirsty, thrilled and feverish. This reckless, pure physical combat made him want to shout.

With cold eyes.

Ahead, not far away, more than a dozen bloody wolf corpses lay motionless on the ground, staining the earth red.

A breeze blew through, with the air filled with a pungent scent of blood.

”Such dense smell of blood could attract more Demon Beasts, must leave quickly.”

Holding the dagger, Lin Feng swiftly sliced the materials needed from the Demon Beasts’ bodies, absorbing all the dozen Demon Spirits into his body. Then his figure quickly vanished from the place.

Soon after he left, terrifying beast roars echoed.

”Such familiar combat method!”

Thus, Lin Feng, alone, kept moving in Senhai, experiencing life and death, with danger lurking everywhere.

The scorching sun hung high, even though dense trees provided cover, the air still held a sticky heat.

At this moment, Lin Feng was no longer as composed as before; he was desperately fleeing.

In Senhai, although most are First Grade Demon Beasts, it doesn’t mean there aren’t Second Grade Demon Beasts, though the probability is very low.

Unfortunately, Lin Feng encountered one right then.

Not long ago, he had bad luck to stumble upon a Second Grade Demon Beast and entered its territory; it was a more than two-meter long, terrifying Fire Cloud Lion immensely powerful, but the only relief was its lack of speed skills.

Lin Feng fled madly, his feet pounding the ground, weaving through the forest like a black bolt of lightning. Though fast, Lin Feng always ran around a section of distance repeatedly to avoid accidentally running into another Demon Beast’s territory, which would truly be dangerous.

”Damn it, chasing for this long, why still chasing?”

An hour later, when Lin Feng realized the beast was still relentlessly pursuing him, he couldn’t help but curse inwardly. Did stepping into its territory once mean it had to kill him so urgently?

”Here it comes again.” Lin Feng’s heart tightened, quickly speeding up.

”Roar!”

A giant roar, the air seemed to ripple like water. Within this shockwave, Lin Feng’s initially fast escaping figure paused slightly, as if frozen.

”Such a powerful sonic attack, fortunately I have experience now.” Lin Feng’s head buzzed, hearing nothing, his Qi and Blood slightly vibrating, freeing his body again.

This wasn’t over yet; after the sonic attack, a scorching fireball quickly formed in the Fire Cloud Lion’s mouth, with a sharp whistling sound, flying toward Lin Feng. But since he dodged in time, it did not hit him. The fireball whistled, crashing and breaking an enormous tree that five people could barely hug, quickly setting it aflame.

”That was close!”

Under the pressure of death, Lin Feng sped up again.

”Roar...”

The Fire Cloud Lion let out an angry roar, having chased for so long but never catching that damn human, it was truly exhausted. When the human’s shadow disappeared again, the Fire Cloud Lion panted rapidly and reluctantly gave up.

It had seen many stronger than Lin Feng but never someone who ran so well.
