I Love Destroying Worlds' Plot

Chapter 652: 12.54 Unknown Star - Modern ABO World: First Case - The Victimʼs Perspective.

At the victimʼs house...

Masterʼs bedroom,

Jie Yun followed the only surviving target of the serial killer of the case they are currently handling. The victim was about to retell the information she knew to the officer only to be surprised to see that this man named Jie Yun suddenly changed in appearance once she turned around to look at him. But what surprised her is not that this person can see his face but instead that very familiar face that matches the one in her mind.

The long-lost younger brother she had been looking for all this time. If not because she was pregnant and is targeted by a serial killer, his pursuit of looking for this younger brother of hers would continue. They separated when they were very young but they love each other as real siblings. The two didnʼt want to get separated but the man who wanted to adopt Yun Jie only wanted him after learning that the boy is a genius when it comes to computers.

Yun Jie was taken despite his disagreement and she wasnʼt even allowed to visit him as if the man who adopted Yun Jie had cut him off from the whole world. As more years passed by, she believed that her younger brother had been sold by the orphanage to that bad man. So she tried all means to know where Yun Jie had been brought and even secretly entered the deanʼs office to check on Yun Jieʼs information. She only saw the district name and nothing more was written. Thinking that her younger brother was in danger, she escaped from the orphanage and went to the district that was written on her younger brotherʼs file.

But never would she expect to have an even harder life outside the orphanage. She can only live by stealing to buy food. If she got caught she would be beaten up. She learned the hardship of living in a city with no one to lean on. It was by then that her elder sister had taken her home. The young lady who brought her home isnʼt even wealthy. It can be said that she is very poor but she could at least feed the two of them with her job.

At that time, she finally felt once again how to live with a loved one, a family perhaps is the right word. This elder sister of hers is very kind. When she told her that she came to the city to look for her younger brother, she helped her post some missing flyers all over the district. But as time passed, no one still came to her to tell her news about her younger sister. Then that gruesome night happened, just when she and her elder sister were just celebrating her future nephew or niece, her beloved elder sister was killed by a robber.

The police deemed the matter as a robbery case but only she knew that the murderer had come to their house and targetted her sister and her unborn child. It was a nightmare she would never forget in her life. After she lost her elder sister and her only family, she lived her life as a waste. A man saves her from her misery. She thought that the man was her salvation and gave everything to him. She surrendered even herself only to be left behind like a used rag. It was at that moment that she realized that she can only live her life alone. No one would really help her, the people whom she loves either are fakes or had long left the world. She even forgets her missing younger brother as time passes. So when he heard that the orphanage she used to live in had been closed due to certain circumstances, she no longer felt anything.

Then a new change in her life appeared. She was just living her life waiting for her death to come when she suddenly got the news from the famous Doctor in their slums area that she was pregnant. Her pregnancy brought happiness to her life. This unborn child would be her source of happiness and her only family after losing both her elder sister and younger brother. But before she could celebrate, as if fate is playing with her, news about that former serial killer had started once again. Her nightmares from last year started returning and they would hunt her dreams every night. Until finally the police came to her place saying they would protect her in exchange for her giving information about anything she could remember in the case she was involved in a year ago.

It was a police officer who introduced himself as Ying Wu who came over to her house with his team. At first, she was frightened by their sudden arrival but remembering what this officer had said on the phone, she knew that they were sent here to protect her from the serial killer. She honestly told Officer Ying Wu everything she knew. but neither would she have expected that the most probable suspect as that serial killer happened to be Doctor Shen who was kind enough to provide her free supplements. Moreover, the Shen Clinic is very famous in the slums district, she couldnʼt believe what Officer Ying Wu had deduced.

Because if it was the Shen Clinic who killed those girls from the news including the ones from the last, doesnʼt that mean it was she who had become the tool of murder that had killed her elder sister. She only told them their address just in case her elder sister wanted to get an in-house check-up for her baby. But was it a coincidence, because three days after they last visited the Shen Clinic, the night murder had happened.

Even if she wanted to deny it with her everything, the clues would never lie to the case. Everything points out to the Shen Clinic no matter how much she thought about it and in the end lost consciousness in remorse and overwhelming sadness.

Then when she woke up that useless man had come back. Though she didnʼt want him around, her current state is not ordinary. She wouldnʼt be able to protect her baby alone and decided to accept him back temporarily.

But God is fair. After all the pain and sadness she had undergone, God had returned her younger brother to her. That was her greatest wish and happiness.

Yun Jie and the lady hugged each other after all this time. Her tears fall down from her eyes like a waterfall and her grip on Yun Jieʼs clothes are like eagle claws unwilling to let him go.

”Xiao Jie. Xiao Jie. It is really you. I miss you so much!”

Yun Jie pats his elder sisterʼs back trying to calm her down.

”Su-Jie, calm down. I will explain everything to you okay?” he said.

It took a few minutes of coaxing for her to stop hugging Yun Jie, but her grip on his hands was strong and she wasnʼt willing to be separated as if she is afraid that all of this is only a dream.

”Okay. You can tell me now. Tell me everything.”

Yun Jie nodded his head and told her everything that had happened in his life. That he was adopted by someone from the government and was trained to become a secret agent when he was young. Though he didnʼt mention Aster, Yun Jie mentioned Hei Yuhua and their current situation. It might be a bit confusing and surreal for an ordinary person like the lady in front of Yun Jie but everything is a fact and she could only believe it.

”So you are saying you are currently working with the police and working as undercover agents to make a connection with that Red Poppy Organization? Then why are you working on Serial murder cases like the current one?”

”This is because my elder brother, Agent Hei, wanted to work with his husband together to capture this Red Poppy Organization. But Prosecutor Ye Yuyan is still a person with high standing and fame in the police headquarters, getting cold cases to solve as extra work was normal to him. Moreover, if not for this I wouldnʼt be able to meet Dajie. When I came back to the country, I only received the news that you had run away and that the orphanage was closed. I tried looking for you all these years but who would have thought you would be in the slums area with less connection to technology devices like surveillance cameras and such,” said Yun Jie.

”I didnʼt want to leave this place unless necessary. This small house is the only thing my elder sister left for me.”

”But you will have children in the future, the slums area is not for the group of the babies. Come with me okay? I will arrange a house for you within the city. As your younger brother this much should be given,” said Yun Jie.

”Okay. Letʼs talk about this again later. Is the reason you wanted to speak privately with me only because of this?”

Yun Jie had eaten another disguise pill to return his appearance to that of Jie Yun, the contract killer.

”No. I need you to separate from that useless husband of yours and that police officer who came with me,” said Yun Jie.

”What? Is that police officer not with you? But he looks so close to you?”

Yun Jie said, ”No, I came alone. My teammates were pursuing the serial killer within this district and there are no new updates about it. Jie, can I borrow your phone?”

”Sure,” said the lady who brought out her phone from her cabinet and passed it to Yun Jie.

After receiving the phone, he called for Officer Ying Wu as Hei Yuhua had no phone on him.

Ring. Ring. Click!

{This is Officer Ying Wu speaking. Is there a problem, Ms. Su?}

Yun Jie: ”Itʼs me, Jie Yun.”

{Oh? Jie Yun? This number is Ms. Su. Are you in the victimʼs house? Good. Good. Wei Lou and I are on our way.}

Yun Jie: ”What are you talking about? Didnʼt you just call me using an officer number just now?”

{I called? Impossible! My phone has been missing since this morning. I just got it back from Heiyu who picked it up from the church. I didnʼt call anyone today. Anyway, be careful. The serial killer was not caught. He is still on the run and might be secretly hiding within the slums district.}

When he heard about the killer not being caught yet, he remembered something weird just now about the officer. The scent of disinfectant and herbs. It was so strong that it couldnʼt be covered up by the scent of the rain. A frown appeared on Yun Jieʼs face.

Yun Jie: ”Is the killer injured or something?”

{Why do you know? Wei Lou almost got himself killed thankfully Heiyu arrived on time and use the tip of his umbrella to stab the murderer but he was still able to run away as he knew the routes of the back alleys like a professional. Why did you ask? Did something happen?}

Yun Jie: ”You left a few police officers to guard the victim right? Check their situation if they are all alive. There is something weird going on in the house. The possibility that the serial killer is now in the victimʼs house is large. Immediately, come over to back me up.”

{What!? Eh? Wait! Wei Lou what are you doing!!!?}

Another male voice which is different from Officer Ying Wuʼs voice can be heard in the call. It was Wei Lou who stole the phone from the owner.

{AʼJie, donʼt engage in a fight with that suspected killer in the house. The murderer is a professional one. I will be there in 10 minutes.}

In the police car...

Wei Lou had a serious expression and his mood didnʼt look good. The call was ended by him one-sidedly. Beside him, Officer Ying Wu did what Yun Jie had asked him. He called the team he left in the victimʼs house to protect. He was supposed to hear that one of their comrades was killed and his uniform was taken from him.

Officer Ying Wu is still talking on the phone, ”I understand. Surrounded the victimʼs house. I repeat, surround the victimʼs house. I allow you to be armed. Donʼt let anyone from inside the mansion leave. The serial killer is inside that house! We would be there in 10 minutes. Capture anyone who leaves the house no matter who it was!” he commanded in the call.

He grinds his teeth in anger and his face looks gloomy with the news he heard just now. He never expected that he would lose a brother to that serial killer.

Officer Ying Wu spoke, ”Jie Yunʼs guessed it right. One of the officers tasked to protect the victim was killed in cold blood. His uniform was taken away. The murderer must have disguised himself as police. But how come the husband of the victim didnʼt notice anything. He had met all the police officers tasked to protect them even more so than the victim herself.”

”There is another reason. That husband is a mole hired by the killer. They are in cahoots.” said Wei Lou.

Officer Ying Wu said, ”Two against one. Jie Yun is in danger. Step on the gas!!!”

”I know!!!” said Wei Lou. ”Inform the Prosecutor and the one with him. If we failed to catch the man. We will need their help again.”

”I will make another call!” said Officer Ying Wu. Once again making a call this time he is calling his superior.

---

At Ms. Su, the victimʼs house.

The call was suddenly cut off. It seems that something on the other side had happened. Officer Ying Wu was on a hands-free call when Ms. Su called and wanted his teammates to hear the conversation just in case he missed something. Who would have thought it was Yun Jie who would answer the phone and say that the murderer might be in the house of the victim hiding from the police.

Since Wei Lou who had fought with the serial killer once said that the suspect is a professional killer then even Yun Jie wouldnʼt get closely involved. He might be an agent but he is more of an intelligence agent who sits in front of a computer to gather information. He wasnʼt like Hei Yuhua who engaged in fighting and death on every mission.

But as a technology geek, he would have hidden weapons on him. He took out the cross necklace hanging on his neck and took out a few needles. These are paralyzing needles that would even put a huge elephant numbed when pricked. He hid it between his fingers.

Ms. Su overheard their conversation as she was standing close to er younger brother and learned that the Police Officer who came with his younger brother might be fake police and instead a murderer in disguise

”Xiao Jie?”

”Donʼt be afraid, Jie. Iʼm here. The others would be here in 10 minutes. As long as we survive for 10 minutes he would be caught. Help me block the door.” said Jie Yun while Ms. Su helped him push the wardrobe and bed blocking the door.
