A colossal Blood River suddenly appeared above the sea where the island was originally located. It could no longer be called a Blood River; it was a Blood Sea.

Naturally, it wasn’t comparable to the real Blood Sea beneath their feet, but it had formed a magnificent defence line.

After all, more than 70 Blood Race members in the Divine Ocean Realm had activated their Blood Secret Technique to form this Blood Sea. Moreover, with the help of United as One Ward Nexuses, their auras within the Blood Sea were united, showcasing great strength.

As the Blood Sea squirmed, it looked like a living creature.

Blood Race soldiers were inching closer as their Secret Techniques struck the Blood Sea and caused layers of ripples.

On each side of the Blood Sea that hovered in mid-air were the Human cultivators who had lost their island. They used their moves to fight their enemies. Rays of light crisscrossed each other as the situation was chaotic.

Unfortunately for the Humans, they only had a small number of people on their side, so they were prone to setbacks in such a battle. Soon enough, they were almost powerless to counterattack, and many of them were injured or dead.

Just then, the Blood Sea squirmed and expanded to engulf all the Humans.

Even though the Humans were out of sight, these Blood Race members still fiercely crashed into the Blood Sea. The next moment, fluctuations of Spiritual Powers were undulating in the Blood Sea.

Lu Ye and his Dao Troopers were in a formation as their auras were closely connected in the Blood Sea. Despite the chaotic environment, they wandered around and slaughtered their enemies wherever they went.

The Blood Sea was formed by around 70 Blood Race Dao Troopers, so they had absolute control over it, and they obeyed Lu Ye’s orders. Naturally, these Blood Race soldiers would end up in a horrible state after crashing into it.

Lu Ye just had to continuously wield his saber to slaughter the enemies. He didn’t even need to look for targets. The Blood Race Dao Troopers would show him the directions or even send those Blood Race members to him.

The other Humans received the same treatment as well. In this vast Blood Sea, every one of them had an invisible assistant who helped them kill enemies and avoid danger.

As more and more Blood Race members were killed, their blood helped expand the Blood Sea. When one looked at it from the outside, the colossal Blood Sea kept shifting, looking like a monster that was rapidly growing.

Still, more Blood Race members fearlessly barged into the Blood Sea.

Some Blood Race members intended to fly over the Blood Sea and invade the Holy Land.

But the Blood Sea seemed able to see things as it extended some blood whips from time to time to drag those Blood Race members who tried to fly over the Blood Sea into it. All the Blood Race members who were pulled into the Blood Sea were either injured or killed.

For now, no Blood Race members were able to break through the defence line formed by the Blood Sea.

Some people came over to help from the neighbouring islands. All of them knew they couldn’t let the Blood Race members break through their defence line from there. Otherwise, the commoners in the Holy Land would be doomed.

Although a gap had appeared in the defence line, it was replaced by the Blood Sea that these Blood Race Dao Troopers had summoned. The Blood Sea was flexible, and it was also a chance for the Humans.

In the Blood Sea, Lu Ye stopped looking for targets. He stood beside Dao Thirteen and munched on Blood Crystals to replenish his power. He was ready to strike with the Inviolable Saber. If any Blood Race member dared to show up in front of the two of them, they would immediately attack the enemy. No Blood Race member could fend them off.

It wasn’t like no Blood Race member in the Divine Ocean Realm had barged into the Blood Sea, but they could only fight their opponents. How were they supposed to go against the massive Blood Sea? Any Blood Race member in the Blood Sea would see their cultivation significantly suppressed. A Seventh-Order Divine Ocean Realm Master could only use a power that was equivalent to the Fourth-Order or Fifth-Order Divine Ocean Realm.

The slaughter never stopped after it started. Every second, some auras were seen withering. They either belonged to the Humans or the Blood Race.

Lu Ye didn’t even know which side had gained the upper hand. In such a large-scale war, an individual’s power was too insignificant. He could only do his best to kill even more enemies. He believed the others were doing the same.

Time passed at snail’s speed. Lu Ye had no idea how many Blood Race members he had killed. Initially, enemies would continuously be sent to him, but it gradually became less frequent. In the end, no more Blood Race members were sent to him. As such, he could only take the initiative to make a move, but he couldn’t find many enemies.

He had no idea why this was happening. Perhaps they had killed most of the Blood Race members. Or, perhaps the enemies had broken through the defence line formed by the Blood Sea and invaded Crimson Blood Holy Land. Lu Ye hoped it was the former.

There came a moment when a soft voice was heard coming from an unknown direction. “All of you, come out. The Blood Race members have retreated.”

Lu Ye was startled for a moment before shooting upwards alongside Dao Thirteen. It took him some time to leave the Blood Sea, after which he looked around.

He could see that no Blood Race members were in sight around the islands. In the distance, blood lights were seen running away.

The next moment, deafening clamours were heard. Humans who had survived were celebrating their victory and venting their frustration.

Lu Ye panted with a pale face. His burning murderous intent could hardly subside.

“Are you alright?” Yue Ji asked caringly.

A dazed Lu Ye shook his head. Suddenly, he looked down at the Blood Sea, which was formed by around 70 Blood Race Dao Troopers working for him. However, there was something off about the Blood Sea at the moment.

It was now five times larger than the original size, and it was squirming violently. It kept expanding and contracting, looking unstable.

Lu Ye activated his Divine Ego and ordered his Dao Troopers to dispel the Secret Technique, but his attempt was futile.

The Blood Sea squirmed even more violently. It seemed to have the intention of splitting, but it couldn’t achieve that.

This was what was strange about the Blood Secret Technique. Their Blood Rivers could merge and kill the enemies, but it couldn’t be sustained for a long time. Otherwise, it would be difficult for the combined Blood River to split. That was because if a long time had passed, the Blood Rivers of these Blood Race members might truly become one.

The integration was especially strong this time because more than 70 Blood Race Dao Troopers had merged their Blood Rivers, and they had used United as One.

A price had to be paid to use a powerful move.

After the island was destroyed, the Blood Sea served as the defence line and gave the Humans a huge advantage, helping them fend off the Blood Race members. The price was that it would be hard for the Blood Sea to split.

Following Lu Ye, other Human cultivators fell from the Blood Sea. They were all battered and injured. In the more severe cases, some people were without arms or legs.

The cruelty of a large-scale war unfolded before Lu Ye’s eyes for the first time.

Only a small number of people survived. It was fewer than 30 per cent of the original figure. It was imaginable that if the Blood Race members’ attacks had been more violent, Humans would’ve lost the war.

If that happened, Blood Race soldiers could penetrate the gap and enter the Holy Land. The consequences would be dreadful.

The Blood Sea squirmed ferociously. Emotions such as fear and anxiety were felt coming from the Blood Sea. The Blood Race Dao Troopers were struggling to get out of it.

Lu Ye sighed and lifted a hand before pressing it down. He gave the Dao Troopers the last order.

They stopped struggling. As Lu Ye brought down his hand, the Blood Sea descended and merged with the real Blood Sea.

As waves surged, the two of them eventually became one.

These Blood Race Dao Troopers were the biggest contributors to their victory, but they had to die in the end. Although they were all Blood Race members, Lu Ye still felt sorry for them.

A figure descended from the sky and landed in front of Lu Ye. Feng Wujiang glanced at him in shock. “Are you alright, Junior Brother?”

“I’m fine.” Lu Ye staggered, and the next instant, he felt as if the world was spinning around him. Before he lost his balance, he grabbed Dao Thirteen’s arm. “I feel dizzy.”

Suddenly, a bell was heard ringing as a bony finger pointed at Lu Ye’s forehead. Yue Ji said softly, “Get some rest if you’re tired.”

Her voice was so soft it sounded like a murmur in a dream. Lu Ye took a look at her before closing his eyes and slumbering off.

Dao Thirteen grabbed his collars, making sure he wouldn’t fall.

“He has expended too much energy.” Yue Ji glanced at Feng Wujiang.

During the war, Lu Ye had been continuously replenishing his power. It was his first time expending so much of his Spiritual Power and Soul Power.

As an average cultivator expended his energy in a war, the power he could use would gradually weaken, which was why his body could bear the burden. But Lu Ye was different. It was easy for him to replenish his power, so he had been using his energy to the fullest from start to finish.

He felt nothing when he focused on destroying the enemies, but once the war was over and he became at ease, he could no longer bear the exhaustion that swept over him like waves.

Feng Wujiang used his Divine Ego to examine Lu Ye.

He concluded that Lu Ye was fine and just needed some recuperation. “Send him back and ask Grandma Jiu to treat his wounds.”

Yue Ji nodded. “Sure.”

It was thanks to Lu Ye’s Blood Race Dao Troopers that no enemies could pass through the gap in the defence line. Although Lu Ye couldn’t claim credit for it, no one could deny that United as One was immensely useful in this war.

Over a million Blood Race members had come to attack them. If not for United as One Ward Nexuses, Humans would’ve lost Crimson Blood Holy Land. When that happened, the Seniors could only lead some cultivators to force their way out of there. The Holy Land would be destroyed and commoners would be slaughtered. Their efforts in the past decades would go down the drain.

Clamours were continuously heard as they celebrated their success in driving off the Blood Race.

Amid the cheers, Feng Wujiang let out a sigh. They could fend off the Blood Race members and save Crimson Blood Holy Land this time, but what about the next time?

There was no doubt Humans had won the war this time, but they were also the losers.

One out of 11 islands surrounding the Holy Land had been destroyed, forming a gap in the defence line. When the Blood Race members struck again, they would focus on pushing through the gap, and the Humans would have a hard time warding them off.

As the Holy Master, Feng Wujiang had to think for the long term, which was why he was worried.

One had to know that Blood Race members could grow up quickly. Although they had suffered tremendous losses this time, it would only take them a few years to recoup their losses and strike again.

It was a convenience unavailable to the Humans.
