“Sir!” Zhang Julai turned to glance at Lu Ye with a quizzical look on his face.

After giving it some thought, Lu Ye said, “You’ll rule Bright Moon Cave Mansion from now on.”

His original intention was to slaughter all the Blood Race members there. Much to his surprise, many Human women were detained there, and many of them were pregnant.

It wasn’t difficult to kill all the Blood Race members, but how would he help those women after that? It was inappropriate for them to keep staying there. However, if they were sent to nearby villages, they would only be fine temporarily. Once they gave birth to Blood Race babies, they would be in a perilous situation.

They needed a place where they would be safe. Bright Moon Cave Mansion was the only option, so Lu Ye had to keep the place as it was. Other arrangements could be made after they gave birth to Blood Race babies.

Zhang Julai was exultant upon hearing that. He turned around and bent his back before beheading Sun Miaozhu. Then, with the head in his hand, he stepped out of the hall.

When the Blood Race members arrived, they were shocked to see the head with widened eyes. It was apparent that the woman was furious before she was killed.

A Blood Race member questioned, “Did you kill the Cave Mistress, Zhang Julai? How dare you!”

Zhang Julai snorted and tossed the woman’s head away. “I’ll be the Cave Master of Bright Moon Cave Mansion from now on. Does anyone object to it?”

The blood-soaked head rolled towards the Blood Race member who had questioned Zhang Julai. He took a step forward with an icy expression. “I’m afraid you don’t have a right to be the next Cave Master!”

There was no doubt Sun Miaozhu was the strongest in Bright Moon Cave Mansion, and this Blood Race member came next. It was followed by Zhang Julai and another Blood Race member with a similar cultivation.

Sun Miaozhu was dead. Regardless of how Zhang Julai managed to kill her, the rules stated that only the strongest one could be the next Cave Master. Naturally, this Blood Race member, who was now the strongest among them, found it unacceptable.

“I’ll let you see if I have the right.” In the past, Zhang Julai would never dare to seize power as he knew his place. However, since Lu Ye had given an order, he wouldn’t dare to disobey him. Moreover, with Lu Ye and Dao Thirteen standing behind him, he wasn’t afraid of anyone in Bright Moon Cave Mansion.

“Dao Thirteen!” Zhang Julai shouted.

Lu Ye sent a signal to Dao Thirteen, who moved away from behind Zhang Julai and strode towards the provocative Blood Race member. At the same time, his Spiritual Power surged.

The Blood Race member laughed. “How dare a Blood Slave in the Spirit Creek Realm like you challenge me!”

With that, he charged forward and grabbed Dao Thirteen’s head with his sharp nails. As his vitality and Spiritual Power surged, his expression changed drastically. That was because the Blood Slave’s head didn’t explode as he had expected. He felt as if he was grasping a piece of unbreakable steel, not a head.

[What’s going on?] While he was doubtful, a fist suddenly magnified before his eyes. With a boom, an air blast spread in all directions as blood scattered everywhere.

Following Dao Thirteen’s attack, the head of this Blood Race member in the Eighth-Order Cloud River Realm exploded. After his head was gone, blood spurted from his neck.

All of these Blood Race members were flabbergasted when they saw this horrifying sight. They turned to look at Dao Thirteen, finally understanding why Zhang Julai could kill Sun Miaozhu and had the confidence to be the next Cave Master.

They initially thought Zhang Julai had only taken on a sturdy Blood Slave. Much to their surprise, this Blood Slave had such great strength.

The headless corpse staggered and collapsed to the ground. The thud was like a hammer that struck their hearts. They came to their senses and glanced at Zhang Julai in a different light now. While they were afraid, they were also envious of him.

“Does anyone think I don’t have the right to be the next Cave Master?” Zhang Julai swept an icy glance over them.

The Blood Race members exchanged glances before falling to one knee. With their hands on their chests, they shouted, “Cave Master!”

Zhang Julai straightened his back with a smug expression. He had never expected to be the Cave Master one day. Certainly, he never forgot that it was Lu Ye who had given him the glory. Although Dao Thirteen was the one who had made a move, he merely obeyed Lu Ye’s order.

The internal strife between the Blood Race was frequent and severe. Certainly, Blood Race members who lived in the same Cave Mansion usually wouldn’t fight one another. They understood that only unity would help them survive.

There were some exceptions, though. Occasionally, the incident of seizing power within a Cave Mansion would happen. That was the reason these Blood Race members were quick to accept Zhang Julai. With such a powerful Blood Slave, he naturally had the right to be the Cave Master. No other Blood Race member could convince the rest that he had a right to rule Bright Moon Cave Mansion.

“All of you can go back to your rooms and do your own things. I’ll ask everyone to assemble if there’s something important.” Zhang Julai waved his hand.

Naturally, these Blood Race members wouldn’t dare to disobey him. They soon returned to their rooms.

After they were gone, Zhang Julai stepped forward and took out the Blood Crystal from the Blood Race member killed by Dao Thirteen. Holding the item with both hands, he respectfully presented it to Lu Ye.

Lu Ye nodded. “Get me a cleaner place.”

Zhang Julai immediately led the way for him.

A moment later, they arrived at a spacious dugout. Lu Ye built some simple enchantments and sat down cross-legged. Then, he took out some water to clean the two Blood Crystals and chose Sun Miaozhu’s one before tossing it into his mouth.

He was now a Seventh-Order Spirit Creek Realm Master. The benefits of eating Blood Crystals were much greater than those of eating Spirit Beasts he had found on the mountain. He could feel that the speed of dissolving the restrictive force in his body had quickened.

After he consumed this Blood Crystal, he would likely become a Cloud River Realm Master again. While chewing on the item, he beckoned to Dao Thirteen, who stood beside him.

Dao Thirteen then sat down beside Lu Ye, who passed him a Blood Crystal. “Give it a try.”

After Lu Ye was sent to this world by the Heavens of Jiu Zhou, his biggest and only helper was Dao Thirteen. Both of them needed to restore their cultivations quickly. However, Lu Ye wasn’t sure if Dao Thirteen could absorb the power from the Blood Crystal.

Although this thing could quicken the speed of dissolving the restrictive force, it had a lot of impurities. Presently, the Tree of Glyphs was covered in a thick layer of fog as it was burning away the impurities.

Dao Thirteen didn’t have the Tree of Glyphs, so it was a wonder what would happen if he consumed a Blood Crystal. Still, he had the body of a Divine Ocean Realm Master. Even if the Blood Crystal was harmful to him, it wouldn’t kill him. That was the reason Lu Ye told him to give it a shot.

Dao Thirteen took the Blood Crystal and furrowed his brows. It was apparent that he was reluctant to eat this thing. Since it was Lu Ye’s order, he naturally wouldn’t disobey him. He tossed the Blood Crystal into his mouth and started crunching it.

The two of them were seen with bulging cheeks as they were crushing the Blood Crystals with their teeth.

Soon, something went wrong with Dao Thirteen. A layer of blood light flickered around his figure. Even his eyes had turned bloodshot. He seemed irritable, but he had nowhere to vent his fury. The breath spurted from his nostrils made him look like an enraged bull.

Lu Ye could feel that the Spiritual Light around Dao Thirteen had turned dim, but the fluctuations of his Spiritual Power were getting stronger.

Instantly, Lu Ye understood that eating a Blood Crystal was useful for Dao Thirteen, but it was less effective for him than it was for Lu Ye. That was because Dao Thirteen didn’t have the Tree of Glyphs, so he couldn’t fully refine the Blood Crystal like Lu Ye did.

Even with his robust body as a Divine Ocean Realm Master, he could only refine a small part of the item.

Moreover, since the Blood Crystal came from a Blood Race member, it affected Dao Thirteen’s Spiritual Power as well. It was akin to what happened when a cultivator consumed too many Spirit Pills in a short time, which would cause the accumulation of Pill Poison.

The fact that the Spiritual Light around Dao Thirteen had turned dim was the evidence. Lu Ye came to the conclusion that Dao Thirteen could consume Blood Crystals to restore his cultivation, but it couldn’t be too frequent. Otherwise, it would bring no benefits to him.

Meanwhile, Lu Ye had fully refined the Blood Crystal. Just like what he had expected, his cultivation was restored to the Cloud River Realm. Judging from the fluctuations of his Spiritual Power, he was only in the First-Order Cloud River Realm.

He reckoned that he needed more Blood Crystals. After sorting out the information about the Blood Race in his mind, he came up with a plan.

A moment later, he summoned Zhang Julai and talked about his plan. Zhang Julai nodded repeatedly.

A while later, Zhang Julai was seated on a stone chair in one of the dugouts in Bright Moon Cave Mansion. Lu Ye and Dao Thirteen stood on each side, serving as his protectors. More than ten Blood Race members stood in front of him.

It was the first meeting Zhang Julai held after he became the Cave Master. Naturally, all the Blood Race members attended the meeting except for the one who guarded the entrance when they received the order.

It was mainly because Dao Thirteen had showcased a horrifying power in public the other day. Zhang Julai alone couldn’t cause these Blood Race members to be fearful. They had witnessed Dao Thirteen’s power, and none of them felt they could take even one move from the man.

“I’ve asked all of you to come here to announce two things,” Zhang Julai said upon receiving Lu Ye’s order.

All of these Blood Race members were all ears.

“First, we, the Holy Race members of Bright Moon Cave Mansion, can no longer kill or oppress blood meals as we please. If anyone breaks the rule, don’t blame me for going hard on him.”

They broke into a commotion upon hearing that. They were fine with Zhang Julai becoming the Cave Master as he was lucky enough to have taken on a powerful Blood Slave. In Blood Refinement Boundary, power was everything.

However, they couldn’t accept that Zhang Julai told them not to kill or oppress blood meals.

The idea of blood meals being their livestock was ingrained in the minds of these Blood Race members. They believed they could do whatever they wanted to those blood meals. This was what the Blood Race members in Blood Refinement Boundary had been doing over the years. Zhang Julai’s order was against their long-time beliefs, and it was hard to be executed. After all, they needed to cultivate their powers. If the order became effective, it would be difficult for them to increase their powers.

Although they could also cultivate their powers by absorbing World Spiritual Qi or the power from the Spirit Stones, it wasn’t as quick as consuming the blood of Humans.
