Dao Thirteen made a move as soon as Lu Ye finished speaking. He grabbed the Blood Race member’s arm and slightly used some force to contort it.

The Blood Race member shrieked. His Spiritual Power surged and his blood light radiated from his body as he attempted to break free from Dao Thirteen’s grasp.

Although Dao Thirteen’s cultivation was weak now, he still had the body of a Divine Ocean Realm Master. Naturally, the Blood Race member couldn’t set himself free.

He was shocked and furious as he snapped. “How dare you do this to me when you’re only a blood meal!? Release me at once!”

He had never experienced something as inconceivable as this. Not only was the blood meal unafraid of him, but he also had the guts to attack him.

Dao Thirteen was irritated by the other party’s struggle, so he forcefully pulled the other man closer to himself and headbutted him on the head.

With a boom, Dao Thirteen was still fine, whereas the Blood Race member felt dizzy and started seeing Stars.

He finally realised he was in danger. The two blood meals before his eyes wouldn’t obey his orders. Instead, they were the rebellious type. His blood light was so thick that he seemed to have turned into a puddle of blood.

Dao Thirteen had never seen such a strange Secret Technique before, so he accidentally relaxed his grip, which allowed the Blood Race member to regain his freedom. The blood light turned around, ready to shoot into the distance.

A well-prepared Lu Ye quickly activated his Divine Ego, which attacked the blood light with an invisible impact.

When a shriek was heard, the blood light contorted and revealed the Blood Race member.

Seeing that, Dao Thirteen also activated his Divine Ego and assaulted him. The Blood Race member fell to the ground and convulsed.

He was only a Cloud River Realm Master. Naturally, he couldn’t bear the successive Soul Attacks by Lu Ye and Dao Thirteen. He was now muddle-headed. Even if he managed to recover, he would be dull-witted.

Lu Ye stepped forward and pressed his hand against the opponent’s forehead. After some hesitation, he still decided to use Two Hearts Beating as One on him.

If he wanted to find out more about this world, prying information from this Blood Race member would be the best option.

It was Lu Ye’s first time activating Two Hearts Beating as One. Since this Divine Glyph would require the use of his Divine Soul, he was cautious.

As he activated his Divine Ego, he easily broke through the Blood Race member’s Soul Power Shield. The moment the Divine Glyph was successfully built, he furrowed his brows. Images he had never seen before and a lot of information streamed into his mind.

That feeling was strange and caused him great discomfort.

While he was suffering, the Blood Race member wasn’t in a better state either. The Blood Race member was about to pass out when he suddenly opened his eyes and trembled violently. His eyes were filled with shock and disbelief. It was apparent that he could see Lu Ye’s secrets as well.

A moment later, Lu Ye retracted his hand and stepped away. His face was pale, and his forehead was beaded with sweat.

His mind was full of unfamiliar images and information which impacted his soul. He quickly took out a drop of Soul Cleansing Water and consumed it to ease his pain.

He decided that he wouldn’t use Two Hearts Beating as One again unless it was necessary to do so. Although the Divine Glyph was amazing, it was torture for both parties.

Perhaps things would get better when his Divine Soul became strong enough, but in his current state, the experience of using this Divine Glyph wasn’t a pleasant one.

Fortunately, he managed to obtain a lot of information about this world.

“Keep an eye on him,” he told Dao Thirteen and sat cross-legged to digest the information he had just acquired.

Things were different from what he had thought. This world wasn’t Blood Boundary which had destroyed Soaring Dragon Boundary. Instead, it was a world named Blood Refinement Boundary.

This world was as vast as Jiu Zhou, and it was ruled by the Blood Race. Many Humans lived here as well, but they were the blood meals that the Blood Race members kept. They were no different from livestock.

In Blood Refinement Boundary, the Blood Race was inviolable. They could do whatever they wanted and kill Humans as they pleased. Their holiness was so ingrained in the minds of these Humans that they never rebelled against the Blood Race. Most people didn’t even know what the Blood Race was as they were only aware of the Holy Race.

Take this village as an example. From the village chief to the naughty kids, none of them had seen the Blood Race before. Those who had seen them were all dead.

Lu Ye’s doubts were finally cleared by now. He had been wondering why the villagers always appeared anxious even though they were well-off. They would close their doors tightly before the Sun even set.

Now, he finally understood that death might fall upon them at any moment. In this depressing atmosphere, they naturally couldn’t be happy. They closed their doors every night to prevent getting taken away by the Blood Race members, but their attempt was useless.

Whenever a Blood Race member arrived at the village, he could capture anybody he wanted. The thin doors could do nothing to stop him.

There were many residents in the village because the Blood Race kept Humans like livestock. In that case, Humans were encouraged to give birth to more children. As such, every family would do their best to produce more children.

The Blood Race even allowed Humans to become cultivators. To them, the blood of cultivators was more useful than that of the commoners.

However, they wouldn’t allow powerful Human cultivators to appear. Therefore, when a cultivator in the village reached a certain limit, they would disappear at any moment.

This was the reason the village didn’t have any old or powerful Humans. Once they were old, they were useless to the Blood Race. They could only serve as blood meals.

In Blood Refinement Boundary, Humans lived a miserable life as they were no different from livestock. Under the Blood Race’s rule in this world, Humans could hardly live past the age of 40.

Someone like the village chief was thought to have lived a long life among Humans.

After sorting out the complicated information in his mind, Lu Ye rose to his feet and approached the Blood Race member.

After suffering two Soul Attacks and having his mind penetrated by Lu Ye using Two Hearts Beating as One, the Blood Race member lost consciousness.

Lu Ye unsheathed the Inviolable Saber and jabbed it right into the Blood Race member’s chest.

The unconscious Blood Race member suddenly opened his eyes and straightened his body. His eyes were full of shock and fury as he stared at Lu Ye.

An icy glint flashed across Lu Ye’s eyes as he twisted the saber. The next moment, a red ball the size of a longan fruit was dug out from the Blood Race member’s chest.

The ruby ball seemed to be made with blood. At first glance, it looked like a crystal which seemed sturdy.

It was the Blood Race member’s heart as well as the condensation of his cultivation. It was akin to the Mutant Core of a Spirit Beast. The Blood Race called it the Blood Crystal.

It was Lu Ye’s first time finding out about Blood Crystals. When he slaughtered the Blood Race members using the Dragon Throne in Soaring Dragon Boundary, he never noticed such a matter.

If he never used Two Hearts Beating as One to glean so much information from the Blood Race member, he wouldn’t have found out about it.

After the Blood Crystal was taken out of his body, the Blood Race member’s head slumped to the side as he stopped breathing.

Lu Ye studied the Blood Crystal while struggling internally. He was hesitating if he should consume the Blood Crystal.

If he wanted to dissolve the restrictive force in his body and restore his cultivation, he had to brand as much information about this world as possible in his body so that he would be assimilated into this world. The way to do that was to eat local food.

He had been doing that for the past few days, but the progress was slow. Considering his current speed, it would take him at least two months before his cultivation was fully restored. It would be even slower for Dao Thirteen as his cultivation was stronger.

The main reason was that they couldn’t find powerful Spirit Beasts. The ones they killed were mostly ordinary beasts.

In comparison, there was no doubt the Blood Crystal in Lu Ye’s hand was significantly more valuable.

If he could refine the power of this Blood Crystal, he believed the restrictive force would dissolve tremendously. Some of his true power would probably be restored.

Although Blood Race members were not Humans, they shared some similarities with the latter. Moreover, the Blood Crystal was taken out from a Blood Race member.

After giving it some thought, Lu Ye reckoned that since the Blood Race members kept Humans like livestock, it should be fine for him to eat a Blood Crystal. It wasn’t like he had never consumed Mutant Cores of Spirit Beasts before. He could just regard the Blood Crystal as a Mutant Core.

This world wasn’t Jiu Zhou. Whatever the case, his most important task was to restore his cultivation.

At the thought of this, he stopped hesitating. He cleaned the Blood Crystal with water and stuffed it into his mouth while Dao Thirteen watched in shock.

The Blood Crystal was crushed in his mouth. It didn’t taste like anything. It didn’t even taste like blood. All in all, it wasn’t an unpleasant experience to eat it.

While he was eating, the sound of breaking through the air was suddenly heard from a distance. He lifted his head and saw a blood light shooting towards the village.

It was apparent that a Blood Race member was ready to capture a blood meal from the village. Lu Ye slightly activated his Spiritual Power.

As expected, he easily attracted the attention of the Blood Race member. The blood light turned around and flew towards him. It soon landed and revealed a figure.

Just like the previous Blood Race member, this one had a tall figure with red skin and pointed ears. Blood Race members were generally taller than Humans.

When Lu Ye looked at his face, an image sprang into his mind. The image came from the dead Blood Race member on the ground. That was because around an hour ago, the two Blood Race members had fought each other.

In Jiu Zhou, Humans were divided into two sides as the war had been ongoing between the two parties for years.

Naturally, Blood Race members in Blood Refinement Boundary were not united. Their competition was even more chaotic and violent. It was because of the existence of Blood Crystals.

When a Blood Race member killed another person of the same Race, he could take away the other party’s Blood Crystal to improve his cultivation. This was similar to Spirit Beasts, who could devour Mutant Cores to increase their powers.

It was for this reason that Blood Race members could grow in power much faster than Humans. They could gobble up the Blood Crystals of other Blood Race members to hasten the speed of increasing their powers, and it didn’t come with any hidden concerns.

This was an advantage that Humans didn’t have. It was also the main reason that this world was ruled by the Blood Race.

Around an hour ago, the two Blood Race members had contended with each other. The weaker one fled in embarrassment and came to the village to capture a blood meal and replenish his power. He didn’t expect to be killed by Lu Ye and Dao Thirteen.

An hour later, another Blood Race member came to the same village to enjoy a blood meal, but he was lured to this place by Lu Ye.

When the Blood Race member revealed himself, he instantly saw another member on the ground. Looking at Lu Ye and Dao Thirteen, he was puzzled as to what had happened. He asked, “How did he die?”
