Gene Unlocking: I Evolve Every Day

Chapter 129: Chapter 120: You Don’t Know Me Well Enough

Longda Machinery, Laboratory.

Lu Li, Peng Erping, and a few designers stared at the computer screen.

The modeling didn’t take too long, mainly because the drawings Lu Li provided almost accurately replicated each part of the bacterial engine. They could be created by direct 3D scanning.

The modeling was successful, and they are now simulating the model’s functionality.

Lu Li just heard from Longda Machinery’s chief designer, Engineer Fu, that the model’s functionality is generally divided into six parts.

They are torque calculation, accessory loss, fuel consumption, emissions, engine temperature, and RPM.

After high-speed computer simulation, the data is coming out set by set.

Lu Li looked at Engineer Fu, who was staring at the data, and asked, ”Engineer Fu, how is it? Can this engine be manufactured?”

”Theoretically, it’s feasible.” Engineer Fu frowned, still looking at the computer. ”But to actually manufacture it might be very difficult.”

Peng Erping asked puzzledly, ”Old Fu, what do you mean by that?”

Engineer Fu said with a wry smile, ”According to the computer modeling and the simulated data, this ultra-high-speed engine should be manufacturable, but because its speed is too high, there might be significant problems with the materials. General aerospace materials might not be suitable.”

Lu Li didn’t fully understand these things, but he knew that aerospace materials are light, high-strength, high-modulus, tough, heat-resistant, cold-resistant, oxidation-resistant, and corrosion-resistant.

If even aerospace materials are hard to use for this engine, it basically means no chance.

He actually didn’t have much hope from the start, just wanted to see if there was any chance at all.

Peng Erping, wanting to ingratiate himself with Lu Li, quickly asked, ”Even aerospace materials can’t be suitable?”

Engineer Fu pushed up his glasses and said, ”Let me put it this way, a general engine at four thousand RPM works at a temperature of eighty to ninety degrees. If the RPM is increased to six thousand, the temperature will rise to ninety to one hundred and five degrees. After the engine completes its work, forty percent of the remaining energy is absorbed by the oil, and sixty percent is absorbed by the cooling system.”

Lu Li and Peng Erping listened attentively.

Engineer Fu continued, ”The engine drawing provided by Mr. Lu simulates a speed result of one hundred and fifty thousand RPM per minute. The most advanced turbo engines can rival this engine in RPM, reaching up to two hundred thousand at most. However, the temperature of a turbo engine reaches nine hundred to one thousand degrees. The turbo engine uses a smaller displacement for more power. If it were a normal internal combustion engine, at one hundred and fifty thousand RPM, I estimate the temperature would reach two thousand five hundred to three thousand degrees. Even when a re-entry capsule frictionally interacts with the atmosphere at several kilometers per second, the flames produced are only over two thousand degrees Celsius, so I say even aerospace materials may not be suitable.”

At three thousand degrees, most of the body vaporizes at this temperature.

Even titanium alloy softens at this temperature.

To put it bluntly, according to Engineer Fu, even if this engine could be manufactured and installed on a car or other machine, without ultra-high-temperature-resistant materials, the machine would burn out.

Lu Li and Peng Erping were disappointed, thinking it was over.

But then Engineer Fu said the next sentence: ”Unless we can get the country’s most advanced aerospace high-temperature-resistant materials. Our country currently has a revolutionary material that can withstand temperatures above three thousand degrees and is very light and thin. If used for engine manufacturing and heat insulation, I have confidence in manufacturing the engine from Mr. Lu’s blueprint.”

Peng Erping said speechlessly, ”Old Fu, stop joking. With our status and position, do you think we can get the most advanced aerospace materials? You’re thinking too much.”

Engineer Fu chuckled, ”I was just sighing. I never really thought we could obtain those materials.”

The other designers standing around nodded in agreement.

The new material developed by the aerospace industry is a national secret.

How could it be given to them to build an engine?

Everyone felt it was an unrealistic thing.

However, Lu Li felt a stirring in his heart and took the initiative to ask, ”Engineer Fu, what is the name of the material you mentioned?”

Thinking that Lu Li was just interested, Engineer Fu said directly without much thought, ”Ultra-light carbon-based micro-ablation heat protection material.”

Lu Li memorized the name and then said, ”Okay, I’ll ask around and see if I can get this material. I’ll let you know the answer later.”

After saying that, he turned and walked out.

Ask around?

See if he can get this material?

Engineer Fu and Peng Erping were dumbfounded, thinking how could such a national secret-level material be obtained?

...

As soon as Lu Li left Longda Machinery, he immediately called Wang Yu, expressing his desire to meet the person responsible behind it.

Ever since he revealed his capabilities, he knew that sooner or later, he would have to sit down and talk with that group of people.

Since that’s the case, why not take the opportunity to ask for some benefits?

Initially, Wang Yu was denying it, but when Lu Li mentioned the position of every miniature surveillance and listening device in his apartment at Poly Yuxi, the other party had no choice but to admit it.

Around 10 a.m.

In an isolated villa in the suburbs, Lu Li met the person in charge of monitoring him.

In the house, Lu Li sat on a single sofa, drinking tea and occasionally observing the middle-aged man with a square face sitting opposite him.

Xiaolin, Wang Yu, and a few young men and women he hadn’t seen before were sitting scattered around the living room.

The middle-aged man with a square face sat diagonally across from Lu Li, also observing him with interest.

Neither of them spoke, maintaining silence for four or five minutes.

Finally, the middle-aged man with a square face broke into a gentle smile and voluntarily said, ”Mr. Lu, I’ve heard great things about you for a long time. It’s truly an honor to meet you today. My name is Zhang Guocheng, one of the responsible people of the 749 East China Team in Jiang Province.”

Lu Li put down the teacup and blinked, ”I’ve heard of the name 749 before, always thought it was fake, didn’t expect it really existed.”

Zhang Guocheng smiled broadly, ”There are many unknown things happening in this world every day, naturally it requires an organization to investigate these unknown matters thoroughly and understand what causes them.”

Lu Li crossed his legs and asked, ”So have you discovered any supernatural things?”

”In the past, some things seemed supernatural, but after investigation and analysis, it turned out that science could explain them,” Zhang Guocheng said in a steady tone, ”Until recently, we discovered your case, Mr. Lu. It seems there’s no reasonable explanation, so I’m under a lot of pressure. Several times I thought about using force to bring you in for a chat.”

Lu Li laughed, ”You should be glad you didn’t use force, otherwise... there might have been a terrifying disaster!”

”Hmm?”

”Isn’t he too arrogant?”

”We know you’re impressive, but no matter how strong you are, you’re still flesh and blood. Can you really withstand the bombardment of heavy weapons?”

Several young men and women sitting with Xiaolin whispered among themselves.

Their tone was full of speechlessness towards Lu Li’s ”arrogance.”

Logically, they were sitting quite far away, and speaking in whispers, it shouldn’t be possible to hear them beyond a meter.

Yet what puzzled these people was that during their whispers, they seemed to see Lu Li turn with a knowing smile as if he already knew everything.

Xiaolin and Wang Yu, even though they didn’t say anything, also knew Lu Li was formidable, but his earlier words were too arrogant, and they didn’t believe that if force was really used, something as terrible as Lu Li said would happen.

Zhang Guocheng seemed to think the same, although he spoke very tactfully, not making anyone feel disrespected, ”Mr. Lu, after learning about your many feats, to be honest, my first reaction was extreme incredulity, knowing you possess impressive strength beyond ordinary people. If prepared, it should be very easy to target someone. If you were born in ancient times, you’d definitely be a true warrior unmatched by ten thousand.”

This sentence sounded very respectful, with the mention of being unmatched by ten thousand.

However, if you think about it a little, you can hear what this statement truly means.

Zhang Guocheng is saying, nowadays is not ancient times, personal bravery might create some threats, but basically has no real use.

Wang Yu, Xiaolin, and the remaining seven or eight people all nodded, agreeing with what Zhang Guocheng said.

Lu Li could already guess how the other party roughly saw him, nothing more than a somewhat significant threat, but not to the point of needing to be dealt with or respected.

Why would the other party think this way?

The simple reason is, the power he previously revealed wasn’t enough to make Zhang Guocheng, Xiaolin, and the others feel fear.

Or rather, not enough to make the bigwigs behind Zhang Guocheng feel fear or respect.

In other words, if he wants the other party not to bother him in the future or make enough profit from equal negotiations, he must display a strength that commands fear and respect.

If he can’t display such strength, the other party will always send people to follow and monitor him without restraint, and would never truly regard him as something serious, or engage in equal exchanges.

Thinking of this, Lu Li knew that today he had to be ”arrogant” once, to thoroughly intimidate Zhang Guocheng and everyone present, as well as the bigwigs behind them.

Doing so in the future possibly means living under certain restrictive rules for a period of time.

It seems like self-torture, but in reality, it’s not.

Lu Li currently didn’t know what the other party’s ”rules” were, or where the bottom line was.

If he accidentally did something wrong, the other party might not even give a warning before coming to eliminate him.

If he knows the specific rules and maintains contact with the other party, even if he does something wrong, it won’t lead to a breaking point, forcing him to leave.

Of course, this is just buying ”development” time for himself.

Lu Li believes that as long as he can gain enough time, step by step completing his evolution, those rules will ”become invalid.”

So, at the current stage, indeed a rift cannot occur.

Thinking this, Lu Li smiled, ”Mr. Zhang, maybe your understanding of me isn’t deep enough.”

Zhang Guocheng furrowed his brow, ”What do you mean by that?”

Xiaolin, Wang Yu, and the others couldn’t understand the meaning behind Lu Li’s words either.

Lu Li didn’t say a word, just snapped his fingers, and a flame appeared at his fingertips.

Zhang Guocheng’s pupils suddenly dilated!

Wang Yu’s eyes opened wide!

Xiaolin and the other people all showed looks of surprise.

Nobody expected, with a simple snap from Lu Li in a T-shirt, a flame resembling a candle flame would spontaneously appear at his fingertips!

Creating a flame wasn’t actually surprising.

There are plenty of devices that can produce fire.

The surprising part is, Lu Li rubbed it into existence out of thin air!

What does this represent?

It signifies a complete violation of the laws of physics!

Lu Li looked at Zhang Guocheng and chuckled lightly, ”I have this ability, do you... understand now?”
