Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 3184 Amidst The Edge

”Pft~ Ahaha~”

Lest Mistwalker couldnʼt help but laugh stupidly, even through the blood loss from the large hole in his chest. The injury was critical in a way chaotic energy ran rampant within, but he saw that it was controlled to a level, disallowing it to destroy him.

Fortunately, it didnʼt hit his heart or middle dantian, or he would need to spend more resources to heal himself. He didnʼt think of surviving, but this Anarchic Divergent gave him a way out, making him want to grasp it.

However-

”You do realize that if I said that I willingly gave you, an Anarchic Divergent, the Celestial Luminescence Pill, and the Forgeheart Peak Upper Realmʼs forging inheritance, I would most likely be declared a criminal and expelled from my Mistwalker Family, losing all the status and wealth I have in the Prismatic Dream Upper Realm, not to mention have bounty posters all over the Galaxy for siding with an Anarchic Divergent?”

”Oh, siding with an Anarchic Divergent is a full-fledged crime?”

Davis blinked.

”Not exactly. Iʼm a supreme genius from the Prismatic Dream Upper Realmʼs Mistwalker Family. How can I be seen cooperating with an Anarchic Divergent?”

”Oh, so itʼs fine if itʼs rogue cultivators?”

”No one would know rogue cultivators in the first place, so itʼs all the same.”

”In that case, I fail to see where thatʼs my problem.”

”…”

Lest Mistwalkerʼs expression twitched at Davisʼs unapologetic tone.

Still, he grinned.

”Youʼre ruthless, alright. Fine! Consider the treasures you stole-”

”Uh? I didnʼt hear it properly. Can you say it again?”

Davis interruptingly gestured, causing Lest Mistwalker to chuckle with his teeth clenched, ”I, Lest Mistwalker from the Prismatic Dream Upper Realm, willingly gave the treasures I found in this realm to the Divine Emperor of Death. Thereʼs no falsehood to my words, and any attempt to change this narrative will be met with a divine punishment from the heavens.”

ʼEh…?ʼ

Davis almost gawked as Lest Mistwalker recited a sacred transcendent scripture to bind himself to these words. He basically sword like all cultivators could, but with more restrictions set in stone. If he failed, forget heavenly tribulation strengthening; he would be met with a lightning strike every year on the same day he broke the promise.

He knew this wasnʼt fake from the memories he plundered, so he was astonished that the other party made this choice.

ʼLooks like heʼs not playing games…ʼ

Davis pursed his lips, ”But it looks like the formation broke for some reason…”

”…”

Lest Mistwalkerʼs lips also twitched as he saw the flaw in the formation, which was designed to let him take advantage of was now torn, leading to a path outside. He was utterly astounded as he knew the only way this couldʼve happened was because he enraged the heavens, just like when a vase fell and broke, displaying a bad omen.

”You know… you really couldʼve cut out the Divine part when swearing an oath to the heavens, but whatever, weʼre probably the same now. Welcome aboard, Tranquil Divergent.”

”Iʼm not a Divergent! And you wouldnʼt have let me go if I hadnʼt added the Divine part!” fumed Lest Mistwalker.

ʼI really donʼt care…ʼ

Davis inwardly laughed.

Why did he do this?

It was because he would be giving this inheritance to Sophie, and he didnʼt want her efforts to be tainted with this slight so that when she reached greater heights, people wouldnʼt say she didnʼt deserve her mastery because she had achieved it through plundering someone else. He could ignore such comments when it was thrown at him, but he couldnʼt digest if anyone called his beauties a bandit or some other thing.

Nonetheless, he didnʼt care if this deal failed, as he could just move on. After all, he really didnʼt see how he could enjoy a social life in the true immortal world with Anarchic Divergents being basically criminals of the universe. His women would naturally be targeted, so he didnʼt know what to make of this deal and was half-hearted about it.

If Lest Mistwalker knew his thoughts, he would definitely spit blood, as it took an immense amount of determination and sacrifice to make this decision. After all, he knew he would no longer be a part of the Mistwalker Family and could also be likely killed here, not to mention he could feel his heart sinking as he knew a karmic burden couldʼve contaminated him with this oath, making his tribulation slightly more difficult than it needs to be.

Lest Mistwalker popped a healing pill into his mouth after Davis waved his hand and caused the chaotic energy within him to disperse, allowing him to take a breather. He was inwardly shaken as he didnʼt think the other party had such control over chaotic energy. It was no wonder he could battle with Rath Heavenshade so effortlessly.

*Ripp!~*

Suddenly, space severed between his upper and lower torso.

ʼAh… those bastards want me to die now…ʼ

He couldnʼt even react to this attack as it was an ambush, ripping apart the fabric as well as his flesh, feeling a sudden force pulling on him as he was flipped over like he was cut in half.

ʼWhat…?”

However, Lest Mistwalker saw that his body wasnʼt severed. Instead, he was pulled by the Divine Emperor of Death from the collar and flipped around like he was a doll.

*Whoosh!~*

He saw tens of silhouettes descending on them, the sight in front of him suddenly turned into a blur, the icy region becoming lush green again, forests surrounded by mountains and rivers. Turning to look, he saw the Divine Emperor of Death dash forward after exiting the trapping formation through the hole created by heavenʼs wrath, trying to leave the area.

But the most important fact of this all was he was still being held by the nape like a little kitten, basically being manhandled as he was taken away.

”Lest, youʼre an absolute disgrace!”

”What a coward! You can die but not submit to an Anarchic Divergent!”

”The name of the Mistwalker Family will take a huge hit with this!”

”Brother!”

A wail could be heard, along with a few other curses, causing Lest Mistwalker to stiffen as he realized that it was his little sister. She was actually crying. He could imagine her expression that was on the brink of a breakdown.

Davis turned to look at Lest Mistwalkerʼs sorrowful expression, making him move his lips coldly.

”Do you want to stay here? Youʼll die.”

”…”

Lest Mistwalker knew exactly what the Divine Emperor of Death was talking about as he was public enemy number one now. Forget the Divine Emperor of Death. Even the gentle senior sister Layla Mistwalker wouldnʼt leave him alive now as what he did was akin to a betrayal, but what could he do, considering he was thrown to the Divine Emperor of Death as a sacrifice by Lambert Mistwalker?

Intense fury swelled in his heart while sorrow also coagulated, causing him to forcefully turn around and laugh.

”You bitch of a sister! Good riddance! I donʼt have to endure your insults anymore! All of you can die for all I care! Ahahaha!”

Lyra Mistwalker became stunned, her quivering lips coming to a stop while her pupils dilated. Layla Mistwalker held her close, not letting her jump the gun with whatever she was going to do. They remained, but the chase began again, the Empyreal Monarchs carefully and meticulously following the Divine Emperor of Death from a distance.

Davis returned his gaze with a bit of pity but also respect gleaming in his eyes as Lest Mistwalker made sure that he didnʼt involve his little sister in this anarchic undertaking.

*Boom!~*

With a thunderous boom, Davis suddenly put a vast distance between himself and them, one that was unreachable within a few seconds.

”What the fuck was that!?”

”How could he be so fast!?”

”Itʼs his heavenly flame and lightning!”

Numerous Empyreal Monarchs grew panicked, and just as they tried to catch up, they suddenly saw him disappear from their gaze, causing their gazes to flicker as they instantly tried to split up and seal the surrounding area again.
