Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 3153 Gathering More Food

Apocalyptic flames danced relentlessly, incinerating everything in its wake.

Grass, rock, ores, leaf, water. Everything was lit on purplish-black flames, and the searing hot wind stirring past the area made these flames spread like wildfire. It didnʼt leave anything behind, in some cases, not even ashes, as it was entirely destructive, seeking to leave nothing.

A while ago, these destructive flames descended from the skies like a meteor, but now, no such flaming rain could be seen.

But within this region where the threat of absolute death loomed, there was a purple-robed man who had his hands reached out towards a few wisps of apocalyptic flames, pure white energy flowing out of his palms. He was underneath an enclosed valley, relatively hidden from the view of the skies.

Unless people appeared inside the valley, people wouldnʼt be able to see him.

Surrounding him, there seemed to be not much flora as they turned into nothing but scorched air, but at the spot he was standing in, there were three wisps of apocalyptic flames blazing high, burning the cave entrances of the valley.

”Go on.”

Davis took his hands back as a lovely voice fell.

He wasnʼt even half-finished refining these apocalyptic flames, but with a command, a purplish-black sphere leaped into the fray and began pulling the terrifying apocalyptic flames into it. Three wide jaws appeared on the sides of its purplish-black energy body before it began slurping the berserk apocalyptic flames like it was eating noodles.

”Gahaha~”

Davis couldnʼt help but laugh as he saw this scene.

The Apocalyptic Flame Essence was indeed gluttonous, but at the same time, he was ecstatic that he didnʼt need to fully tame and refine these flame essences in order for it to absorb them as it seemed capable by itself. Although these apocalyptic flames were slightly weaker than the ones he refined before, they were still an extreme threat that no heavenly genius would try to have their way with it.

Otherwise, even Empyreans could stop the end of a realm, and since they didnʼt, he knew these apocalyptic flames would only grow worse or, rather, grow stronger in prowess as time passed.

Nonetheless, he was not the only one here.

Lea was also here to accompany him. In fact, she was the one who said for the Apocalyptic Flame Essence to munch on these half-refined apocalyptic flames.

Davis was of the idea that if the Apocalyptic Flame Essence could understand that Lea was the one who was feeding it, then it would be easier for them to form an amicable relationship and form the Prismatic Intramural Spirit-Soul Pact and even achieve the third level in the end.

”Master, weʼll do it…! Iʼm ready…!”

As though reading his mind, Eldia suddenly piped in from his soul sea, causing him to blink.

”No, youʼre not ready.”

”Fhm~”

He strictly said, causing Eldia to deflate like a balloon losing air.

Davis may have sounded strict, but he knew that Eldia was only feeling the urgency as there was a rival who was suddenly stronger than her. As a matter of fact, he could sense her jealousy, and it wasnʼt like Eldia did anything to conceal it.

She was still an innocent and wild spirit that he would like to snuff out in a euphoric way.

”…”

Davis shook the wild thoughts out of his head and went to refine other wisps of apocalyptic flames.

For the stronger ones, he used Fallen Heavenʼs life energy, and for the weaker ones, he used his own life energy.

With each usage, he was understanding the intricacies behind refining with life energy more and more, giving him more insights into Life Laws. The same could be said about when he used Fallen Heaven to hasten the pure essence of the remnant Will into an actual life.

He had comprehended Level One Abstruse Intent in Life Laws before he could even reach the Immortal King Stage and had reached Level Two Abstruse Intent before he stepped into Astral Forgeheart Minor Realm, so his life energy was utterly pure and extremely potent at his current stage, possessing a paramount dominance over healing, curing or refining most essences under the Peak Immortal Emperor Stage as long as he possessed enough energy.

He could even feel the bottleneck at handʼs reach, just a few inches away from Level Three Abstruse Intent.

The same could be said about his Death Laws, which were almost inching towards Level Three Abstruse Intent.

Thinking about Death Laws, Davis still couldnʼt understand the deathly essence that allowed Fallen Heaven to refine soul essences. It was quite difficult for him to comprehend it when death was elusive and sought to vanquish anything in its path rather than refine it. For this matter, he knew he could only rely on Vereina, but she had already left towards the north along with the others.

Nonetheless, he carried on multitasking as much as he could, feeding the Apocalyptic Flame Essence with Leaʼs hands, comprehending Life Laws, and watching over the captives in his life ring while inflicting them with more pain because they had needlessly woken up.

This time, he had marked every one of his women with his soul force before leaving, so he knew where each and every one of them were. Therefore, he didnʼt worry.

Along with Myria, who could deal with an Empyreal Monarch, each one of his women could be considered a Kingly Monarch. Truly, there was no need to worry unless three Upper Realms were working together to capture or kill them.

However, he also understood why many didnʼt bother to mark as it was taxing, but he knew what was also more taxing, and that was to imbue an immortal sense on each of them as that was like creating half a soul body in them. Although this immortal sense would lay dormant unless awoken or the host died, it still took a portion of oneʼs soul essence to make it work.

He couldnʼt place an immortal sense on all of them but could mark all of them with his karmic soul force, and even if that didnʼt work, he had his karmic threads to rely on.

*Rumble!~*

A day and a half later, Davis looked exhausted beyond compare, but he had his eyes wide, witnessing the heavenly tribulation that he hadnʼt seen in a while showing its face again with its tyrannical aura descending with an annihilative nature, causing his lips to curl.

ʼGreat... more food...ʼ

===========

Myria suddenly turned to look towards the south, feeling a sense of foreboding. However, this foreboding feeling didnʼt come from the distance but from the area she was standing on.

”Donʼt bother to hide in the shadows, for none of you could hide from my senses at this range.”

”Oh…? Thereʼs someone like you in the realm of the weaklings?”

A manʼs voice echoed from the dense, huge forest, causing the gazes of Sophie and the others to flicker as they turned cautious.

Assassins? From the true immortal world?
