Chapter 619: Chapter 619: Heaven-sent Perverts (Part 1)

Immersed in his training, Lin Yun had completely cut himself off from the outside world. Every day, he either practiced his Martial Skills or refined Top-grade Spirit Essence Pills. For twenty straight days, he never once stepped out of his courtyard.

In those twenty days, Lin Yun’s progress was immense. Although he had yet to break through to the Peak of the Celestial Spirit Realm, he was very close. Another ten days should be enough.

In this world, breakthroughs before the Celestial Spirit Realm posed no difficulty, which was why so many people in Demon City had reached this stage.

If even those with ordinary aptitude could reach the Celestial Spirit Realm without the help of Elixirs, it was only natural that Lin Yun, with his resources, would make such rapid progress.

’I’ll push through and break into the Peak of the Celestial Spirit Realm in one go.’ One day, after finishing his Martial Skill practice, Lin Yun had just returned to his room. He was about to start cultivating when someone suddenly knocked on his door.

Hearing the knock, Lin Yun was puzzled. ’Who could that be? It’s definitely not the Monk and his companion; they never bother to knock.’

Opening the door, Lin Yun saw Zhang Qing standing outside with a furious expression on his face. Seeing his state, Lin Yun invited him in and asked, a little confused, ”Brother Zhang Qing, what’s wrong...?”

”Hmph! ’Heaven-sent people,’ my ass! More like heaven-sent perverts!” Zhang Qing roared.

Zhang Qing’s outburst left Lin Yun completely baffled. ’Heaven-sent perverts? Did I do something to offend him?’ Lin Yun had no idea what was going on. Only after some questioning did Zhang Qing finally explain the situation.

After listening to Zhang Qing, Lin Yun could only smile wryly. ’It’s those two again, the Monk and the Daoist. Of all the things they could have gotten into, why did it have to be...’

According to Zhang Qing, those two idiots, the Monk and the Daoist, had actually slept with the Second Commander’s wife. To make matters worse, the Second Commander had caught them in the act, right in his own bed.

Seeing the Monk and the Daoist in his bed, the Second Commander had nearly exploded with rage. He had them arrested on the spot, and they were now being held in the Main Hall.

Although the Grand Commander and the others were holding him back, the Second Commander was determined to kill the Monk and Daoist. The Grand Commander and the others could understand his fury; they were furious with the pair as well.

The Second Commander’s wife was actually quite famous in Demon City, and it was, of course, because of her beauty.

Hailed as the greatest beauty in Demon City, she was the woman of many a Demon Palace Warrior’s dreams. However, since she was married to the Second Commander, no one in the Demon Palace dared to make a move on her.

The Monk and Daoist had told Zhang Qing that they had run into the Second Commander’s wife on the streets of Demon City. According to them, she kept striking seductive poses at them, and they simply couldn’t resist, which led to... well, you know.

One could only imagine that hearing this would have made the Second Commander even more furious.

Not only had they slept with his wife, but they had the audacity to turn around and claim she was the promiscuous one. Who wouldn’t be enraged by that?

After hearing all this, Lin Yun finally understood Zhang Qing’s furious expression. From Zhang Qing’s perspective, the Monk and Daoist’s behavior was completely outrageous. They weren’t ’heaven-sent people’ at all; they were exactly what Zhang Qing had called them—heaven-sent perverts.

”Brother Zhang Qing, please, calm down...” Lin Yun said with a smile as he poured Zhang Qing a cup of water.

But Zhang Qing was clearly in no mood for pleasantries. ”You’d better get to the Main Hall, quickly,” he said to Lin Yun. ”Otherwise, the Second Commander is really going to kill them. I’m leaving.”

With that, Zhang Qing left the courtyard without a backward glance.

Watching Zhang Qing’s retreating figure, Lin Yun felt a sense of helplessness. ’Those two... are they really men of the cloth?’

Ever since he’d met them, they hadn’t done a single thing a proper clergyman should do. Instead, they had broken every single monastic rule and precept in the book.

He sighed. Since they were his companions, he couldn’t just abandon them. Without disturbing Xi Zijin, Lin Yun headed for the Main Hall alone.

As he approached the Main Hall, he could feel that the Demon Palace Warriors no longer held a favorable opinion of him and his group. Although the Monk and Daoist were the culprits, Lin Yun was their companion, so it was understandable that the Warriors’ anger would extend to him.

A Demon Palace Warrior announced his arrival to the Grand Commander. Once permission was granted, the Warrior led Lin Yun into the Main Hall.

Even before he saw the Monk and Daoist, Lin Yun could already hear their voices.

”I told you, it was your wife who was throwing herself at us! What does that have to do with this Lord Buddha?” That was the Monk’s voice.

”Exactly! We are men of the cloth! We haven’t even blamed your wife for defiling us, and you have the nerve to play the victim and accuse us first!” That was the Daoist’s voice.

The final voice, brimming with rage, could only belong to the Second Commander. He was practically roaring, ”You... are courting death!”

Listening to the three of them bickering, Lin Yun finally entered the Main Hall and saw the Monk and Daoist. The Grand Commander and the others were treating them with some restraint, having not tied them up. The pair stood in the center of the hall, and opposite them was the furious Second Commander. Beside him stood a beautiful woman who must have been his wife.

When they saw Lin Yun approaching, the Monk and Daoist showed no sign of remorse. They looked at Lin Yun as if they were the ones who had been grievously wronged and were the first to cry foul.

”Young Master Lin, you have to stand up for me!” the Monk pleaded. ”I’m a man of the cloth! You know my character. How could I possibly do something like this?”

”That’s right, Young Master Lin! You know my character better than anyone,” the Daoist added. ”You have to get us justice!”

Hearing their pleas, the corner of Lin Yun’s mouth twitched. If there weren’t so many people around, he really would have asked them, ’Have you two no shame?’

’That’s right, I’m very familiar with them,’ he thought. ’And because of that, I know exactly what kind of scoundrels they are. The idea that they were framed? I wouldn’t believe that even if you beat me to death.’

’This Demon Monk and Evil Daoist are the most depraved clergymen I’ve ever met. They’re worse than bandits.’

Ignoring the pair, Lin Yun walked before the group and first sized up the Second Commander’s wife. ’I have to admit,’ he thought, ’she’s quite beautiful. Though not on the same level as Lu Bingning and the others, she’s definitely a stunner. No wonder the Monk and Daoist were tempted.’

The Second Commander’s wife had clearly been crying recently. It made sense. For a woman to be caught cheating by her own husband was something that could ruin her entire life.

”Lin Yun, what are you going to do about this?” the Second Commander demanded coldly. ”If you don’t give me a satisfactory answer, I swear I won’t let this go. Pah! ’Heaven-sent people,’ indeed. More like heaven-sent perverts!”
