Chapter 617: Chapter 617: The Magical Elixir

The Monk and Daoist watched helplessly as Lin Yun confiscated their Top-grade Spirit Essence Pills. Their hearts ached as if they’d been stabbed.

After collecting the Top-grade Spirit Essence Pills and the Low-grade Spirit Essence Pills everyone had pooled together, Lin Yun left four thousand of the Low-grade pills for the Monk and Daoist before finally untying the ropes that bound them.

As soon as they were on their feet, their first move was to grab their Space Rings and immediately store the remaining four thousand Low-grade Spirit Essence Pills, terrified that Lin Yun might snatch those as well.

Once everything was secured and their Space Rings were back on their hands, they glared at Lin Yun. The Daoist was the first to snap, ”Lin Yun, a leopard can’t change its spots! We’re supposed to be companions now, yet you even rob from your own allies.”

”Exactly! Lin Yun, just think about how much you’ve taken from us already. Do you have no shame at all?” the Monk added.

These two were utterly obsessed with money. You could discuss anything else with them, but the moment money was involved, they would instantly turn hostile.

Faced with their angry accusations, Lin Yun gave them a wicked smile and said nonchalantly, ”Originally, I was just borrowing them. But since you insist on calling it robbery, I can’t help that. Fine, let’s call it robbery.”

At his words, the two of them instantly fell silent. A moment ago they were furious, but now, hearing what Lin Yun said, they realized their mistake.

The Daoist hastily changed his tune. ”Young Master Lin, it was I who was too hasty just now. Everyone knows what kind of person you are...”

”Indeed, Young Master Lin. You go ahead and use these Top-grade Spirit Essence Pills for now. You can just return them to us after we leave the ruins,” the Monk added.

Inwardly, they were cursing Lin Yun to death, but on the surface, they still clung to the hope of getting back whatever they could.

They were no match for Lin Yun in strength. The hard approach was useless, so they naturally had to resort to a softer one.

However, hearing their words, Lin Yun showed no signs of changing his mind. He strolled leisurely back to his room, remarking coolly over his shoulder.

”Monk, Daoist, curse me if you want. You’re the ones who reminded me. Why would we need to ’borrow’ among the three of us? What’s yours is mine, haha.”

Laughing heartily, Lin Yun stepped into his room. The moment the door closed, the Monk and Daoist froze. They knew those Top-grade Spirit Essence Pills were gone for good.

Facing Lin Yun’s room, the Monk shouted, ”Lin Yun, you’re ruthless! Just you wait!”

Robbed by Lin Yun yet again, the pair was utterly dejected. Ignoring Xi Zijin, they went to the pavilion and sat down. The Monk took out his fine wine. Without a word, they sat on the stone stools, trading cups back and forth, their faces masks of pure fury.

Seeing them like this, Xi Zijin smiled faintly. ’Those two have really met their match. Lin Yun is their kryptonite.’

The Low-grade Spirit Essence Pills had been collected—ten thousand in total. In the end, Lin Yun thought for a moment and pitched in one thousand of his own to round out the number. After all, having just ”robbed” the Monk and Daoist of one thousand Top-grade Spirit Essence Pills, he didn’t mind.

「The next morning」 Lin Yun had already sent word to the ten Commanders of the Demon Palace. When the appointed time arrived, he called for Xi Zijin and went out into the courtyard. Seeing the Monk and Daoist already drinking so early, he called out to them.

”Let’s go. It’s about time. The ten Commanders should be waiting for us in the main hall.”

However, the Monk and Daoist completely ignored his call. With cold faces that practically screamed ’I am not happy,’ they continued to sulk.

The two were still fuming. Left with no choice, Lin Yun had to take Xi Zijin and head to the main hall first.

Since the meeting had been arranged in advance, the Demon Palace Warriors guarding the main hall didn’t stop them when they arrived, letting the two of them straight in.

Inside the main hall, all ten of the Demon Palace’s Commanders were already present. In addition to the ten seats for the Commanders, four extra chairs had been specially added for Lin Yun, Xi Zijin, and the others. Since the Monk and Daoist hadn’t come, two of those chairs were destined to remain empty.

Without beating around the bush, Lin Yun immediately stated the purpose of his visit and placed the ten thousand Low-grade Spirit Essence Pills in the open space between the ten Commanders.

The pills were in exquisite Jade Bottles. The ten Commanders, who had never even heard of Elixirs before, listened as Lin Yun explained that these pills could aid a Martial Artist’s Cultivation. Intrigued, they each picked up a Jade Bottle to carefully examine the Low-grade Spirit Essence Pills inside.

After examining one for a while, the Third Commander asked Lin Yun doubtfully, ”Is this tiny Elixir really as miraculous as you claim?”

In response, Lin Yun smiled slightly and asked the Third Commander to demonstrate its effects for everyone.

The Third Commander didn’t refuse. He walked to the center of the main hall, sat down cross-legged, and, following Lin Yun’s instructions, swallowed a Low-grade Spirit Essence Pill.

”Third Commander, circulate your internal Elemental Power to refine the Elemental Power within the Spiritual Essence Pill,” Lin Yun instructed.

The words had barely left Lin Yun’s mouth when the Third Commander exclaimed in astonishment, ”What pure Elemental Power! It’s more than ten times richer than the Heaven and Earth Primordial Power we normally absorb.”

Hearing this, the other Commanders of the Demon Palace grew even more excited about the effects of these Low-grade Spirit Essence Pills.

They watched with rapt attention as the Third Commander refined the Spiritual Essence Pill’s Elemental Power. A full hour passed before he slowly opened his eyes. When he looked at Lin Yun, his gaze was filled with delight.

”Such pure Elemental Power,” the Third Commander said. ”In just one hour, I’ve made more progress than I would in three days of normal Cultivation. And I feel like I haven’t even finished refining all the Elemental Power from the Elixir yet.”

Hearing the Third Commander’s report, the others were all eager to try one for themselves, but Lin Yun stopped them.

”Commanders, since I have already gifted these Elixirs to you, you will have plenty of time to cultivate in the future. There’s no need to rush. However, there are a few things I need to remind you all of...”

He explained the precautions for using the Low-grade Spirit Essence Pills, including the warning not to take more than one a day. Doing so could cause a buildup of residual Elemental Power in the body. After all, not everyone was as ridiculously talented as Lin Yun.

After listening to Lin Yun, the Commanders all nodded in understanding. Gazing at the piles of Low-grade Spirit Essence Pills, the Fourth Commander laughed heartily. ”Haha! With these Spiritual Essence Pills, we’ll be able to break through to the Limit of the Celestial Spirit Realm in no time!”

It was clear the ten Commanders were overjoyed, including the Grand Commander, who no longer had any use for Spiritual Essence Pills. Since the Grand Commander’s Cultivation was already at the Limit of the Celestial Spirit Realm, taking more Spiritual Essence Pills would be pointless.

”Grand Commander, I’ll entrust these Spiritual Essence Pills to you. As for how you distribute them, I won’t interfere,” Lin Yun said, looking at the Grand Commander.
