Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 388: Chapter 209: The Devout Men and Women

Cameron Spencer gifted a portion of his shares to his three children’s trust funds, though he could still reclaim them. Until he did so, his three children, Justus Spencer, Spring Spencer, and Summer Spencer, remained major shareholders in the Spencer Group.

Cameron Spencer nodded and said with a smile, ”It’s best that you think this way. As long as you are willing to learn, you will be even more outstanding! — However, I have decided to take back all of your elder brother’s shares, and I will temporarily manage them myself. Once he has learned his lesson, I’ll return them to him.”

He carefully observed Spring Spencer, waiting for her response.

He knew that Justus Spencer was not as capable as Spring Spencer, but Justus Spencer was, after all, his son.

Spring Spencer neither agreed nor disagreed, and instead said with a smile, ”I’m here to say goodbye to you, Dad. I plan to leave here and go to the Capital City to try starting a small business and test my abilities.”

”Why go to the Capital City?” Cameron Spencer frowned, ”Isn’t it good to do business here?”

”It’s not that it’s not good.” Spring Spencer said mildly, ”Here, and in the entire Southern Region, because of Spencer Group and your influence, I can’t escape the identity of being Cameron Spencer’s daughter no matter what I do. What’s the point in that? I want to learn how to do business, not walk down a path laid out blindfolded.”

”You...” Cameron Spencer chuckled. Although he didn’t agree with Spring Spencer, he didn’t discourage her. Instead, he said kindly, ”Since you’ve already decided, I won’t stop you. If you’re going to the Capital City, what business do you want to do? Your sister is also in the Capital City; I wonder how her entertainment company is doing.”

Spring Spencer shook her head, ”I’m not interested in the entertainment industry. Mom has helped me gather some money, and I plan to use it, along with my savings, to see what businesses have potential in the Capital City.”

”I see.” Cameron Spencer pondered for a while and said, ”Then let me invest some money in you as well; you can use it for venture capital and test your foresight.”

”In families like ours, even if you go out to gain experience, there’s no need to start as a small employee like ordinary people. That’s a waste of time and meaningless.”

”What you need to learn is strategic thinking, long-term vision, and uniqueness. These are the most important qualities and abilities for being a successor of our Spencer Group.”

Spring Spencer’s eyes lit up, and she couldn’t help but feel excited. — Was this implying something?

Cameron Spencer watched her with a smile, seemingly seeing through her unspoken thoughts, and nodded encouragingly, ”Alright, go ahead. A child must experience trials and tribulations to truly grow up!”

Spring Spencer didn’t expect to gain not only more funds but also a promise during this visit, so she was naturally delighted.

She then asked Cameron Spencer about his health with concern before taking her leave.

After she had been gone for a while, Brooke Osborne came downstairs with her belly protruding.

Cameron Spencer quickly went over to support her and asked, ”...Did Spring see your belly?”

”No.” Brooke Osborne shook her head with a smile, ”My belly is so big now; is it necessary to hide it from your wives and children?”

Cameron Spencer had kept Brooke Osborne’s pregnancy a strict secret even up until now.

He squinted his eyes and smiled, the lines at the corners looking exceptionally deep and clear, ”After hiding it for so long, we might as well wait until it is born.”

Brooke Osborne nodded compliantly, ”Okay, I’ll listen to you.”

...

Ever since Justus Spencer was expelled from the Spencer Group, his shares were also taken back from the trust fund by his father, Cameron Spencer.

As an executive dismissed for making a mistake, he didn’t receive any severance, relying on his savings to get by.

Of course, he had ample savings in his bank account, allowing him to continue living as he did without any financial strain.

Nonetheless, he was unhappy and lost all desire to spend money.

Only after being dismissed did he understand the true meaning of the saying, ”Power is a man’s aphrodisiac.”

He was unaccustomed to life without the CEO position.

After languishing at home for a few days, he pulled himself together and went to his uncle’s house, waiting for his uncle to return so they could discuss a strategy.

With his father’s support withdrawn, his only remaining pillar was Uncle Rayner.

Uncle Rayner had just returned home from the Spencer Group headquarters, barely sitting down for a sip of tea, when he saw Justus Spencer rise from the sofa, saying, ”Uncle, help me!”

He chuckled twice and said, ”Justus, it’s not that I don’t want to help you, but you’ve really crossed the line with this matter. You’ve caused such a big loss to the company. How do you expect me to respond?”

”Uncle! I know I was wrong! But to err is human, isn’t it? I’ve realized my mistake, and I’ll change! Could you please plead with my father for me? Just say that I’ll be more careful and avoid making such mistakes again in the future!”

Uncle Rayner smirked, ”You can say that yourself. What does it mean if I say it? Without sincerity in your apology, do you think your father, the sharp-eyed person he is, would believe it?”

”But Uncle, my mom has already divorced Dad. You’re the only support I have left. If you don’t help me, what am I going to do?” Justus Spencer even began to sob.

Uncle Rayner exhaled helplessly and handed him a tissue, saying, ”You need to admit your fault to him yourself; I really can’t help you. If I go, it might even make things worse.”

”...Then how about you accompany me, Uncle? Try to intervene for me, so I can continue as CEO. Please, Uncle?” Justus Spencer attempted eagerly to coerce Uncle Rayner onto his side.

He knew that the Rayner Clan was not a common family and had deep backing.

Although they were not as prosperous as before, an emaciated camel is still bigger than a horse. As long as the Rayner Clan supported him, even his father, Cameron Spencer, could not ignore it.

Uncle Rayner laughed heartily, smoothly saying, ”I really have no say in this. Why don’t you investigate a bit more and see which board members might stand up for you?”

Justus Spencer found these words a bit odd, but didn’t think much of it, and said, ”I’ll go find out right away, Uncle, you must help me!”

”Alright, you go ahead and find out, then we’ll talk.” Uncle Rayner smiled and saw Justus Spencer out, and as he watched him leave, he snorted disdainfully.

Justus Spencer made a few rounds of phone calls, only to realize he had been played by his uncle.

No wonder his uncle was unwilling to stand up for him. It turned out his uncle had taken his CEO position!
