Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 381: Chapter 206: Don’t Give Them Any Sweetness

When someone is talking endlessly about a topic, suddenly inserting another question into the conversation can trap most people, who, unless specially trained, would unwittingly reveal their true feelings.

Although Lawrence Winters had been well-exposed since childhood and wasn’t one of those fresh graduates who were just getting their first taste of the harsh realities of society, in front of someone like Christopher Mason, her experience was hardly sufficient.

As a result, she didn’t even realize she had been ”led” by Christopher and subconsciously said, ”Nothing else, they just taught me to recite the formulas.”

Christopher looked at her for a while, ensuring she spoke the truth.

”...They only taught you to recite the formulas. Do you think we can rely on them?” Christopher smiled, deciding to delve into it himself first and teach it to the others later.

The transaction completed, the two of them went to the restaurant to eat.

Ian Lothrop, Arvin, and Francis Johnson had already finished a round of food, leaving only Kenneth Osborne waiting for Lawrence Winters.

Seeing Lawrence Winters and Christopher Mason coming over, Kenneth Osborne sighed in relief and smiled, ”Come and eat.”

Lawrence Winters sat next to him, with little Arvin sitting on a high chair for children on her other side.

He had finished a plate of seafood fried rice, and Francis Johnson had picked some green vegetables into a small plate for him to eat.

Arvin didn’t like green vegetables but didn’t want anyone to notice, so he ate slowly and carefully, taking tiny bites.

When Francis Johnson glanced at him, he explained, ”...Mama said eating slowly and chewing carefully is good for your health.”

Francis Johnson quickly glanced over his chubby little body, smiled, and didn’t expose him.

When Lawrence Winters put the first spoonful of seafood fried rice into her mouth, all her taste buds exploded.

The fresh sea flavor and saffron complemented each other perfectly, amplifying the delicious taste of seafood by tenfold.

Lawrence Winters enjoyed this sensory feast of flavors with satisfaction, and knowing it was personally made by Mr. Mason, the satisfaction was extraordinary.

Although Arvin was already full, the way Lawrence Winters seemed to enjoy every bite as if it were heavenly delicacies was too appetizing.

He couldn’t help but use his little chopsticks to pick up the green vegetables and put them into his mouth.

Lawrence Winters ate over half a plate of seafood fried rice before slowing down.

Ian Lothrop and Francis Johnson started talking, while Christopher Mason sat on Kenneth Osborne’s side, also talking with him.

Lawrence Winters had been so immersed in eating that she had almost shut off her senses.

Except for her taste sense, she temporarily didn’t need sight or hearing.

Now that she was full, she divided some attention to observe the situation of others at the table.

Seeing everyone eating and talking, Lawrence Winters no longer followed the ”don’t talk while eating” rule and chatted with little Arvin, who had been gazing at her.

Arvin chattered about learning to swim, ”...We have an indoor swimming pool there. Every time Uncle Ze takes me, there are some extremely annoying kids who mess with me, not letting me swim. I don’t like them.”

He looked at Lawrence Winters pleadingly, saying, ”Miss, you seem very capable. Can you give me some advice on how to deal with them?”

How could Lawrence Winters ask the child of her idol to do something bad?

Besides, any child who could bully Mr. Mason and Chief Consultant’s son must also have a significant background, so she couldn’t possibly encourage a child to act imprudently.

Lawrence Winters grinned and threw the ball back, saying, ”What ideas do you have to deal with them? Tell me.”

Arvin looked at her with wide eyes and clenched his fist, saying, ”Actually, I’ve thought about secretly peeing in the pool... to see if they still won’t let me swim!”

”Isn’t that a bad idea?” Lawrence Winters blinked and followed his lead, ”But, if you’re sure you don’t have diabetes, go ahead and pee!”

”Why?” Arvin felt he couldn’t keep up with the lady’s line of thought.

”Because you shouldn’t give them even a bit of sweetness!” Lawrence Winters said with a straight face.

The restaurant suddenly went quiet.

Ian Lothrop, Francis Johnson, Kenneth Osborne, and Christopher Mason all looked at her.

Lawrence Winters blinked her eyes, putting on an innocent face, ”...Why are you all looking at me? Okay, regardless of whether you have diabetes, you shouldn’t pee in the pool...”

Pfft—!

Francis Johnson couldn’t help it and laughed out loud.

Arvin continued to ask, ”...What is diabetes? What’s it got to do with sweetness?!”

Ian Lothrop earnestly explained the medical theory behind diabetes and its treatment to him. Arvin listened with great interest and unknowingly finished all the green vegetables.
