Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 354: Chapter 193: Sword in Hand, Daring to Bind the Azure Dragon (Third Update)

”But someone is more sincere than you.” Luke Stern chuckled, ”The other company, upon hearing I offered you 2.5 billion, immediately raised it to 3.5 billion!”

Justus Spencer: ”!!!”

What does this Wayford Intelligence have that they don’t know about?!

Justus Spencer recalled Thomas’s words, and a sudden insight hit him, he asked, ”... Did you Wayford Intelligence sign any major clients recently?”

Luke Stern smiled and said, ”Do we still need to sign major clients? Don’t you know our biggest client is State Grid?”

Justus Spencer really didn’t know, and he was overjoyed: ”Really? Your biggest client is really the State Grid?!”

”Do you want me to show you the contract? A ten-year contract, signed just last year.” Luke Stern took a sip of red wine and started eating steak again.

He indeed didn’t look as unkempt as last time.

After all, as long as he sells the company, he’ll instantly become a billionaire, and the kind with cash, not just on paper.

Justus Spencer clenched his fist, determined: ”Mr. Stern, we’ll also offer 3.5 billion!”

”... But, what if that company knows you’re willing to offer 3.5 billion, and they raise the price again? Then wouldn’t I lose out big time?” Luke Stern laughed smugly, not willing to concede at all.

As the saying goes, ”No one farms a barren field, but once tilled, many compete for it.”

Justus Spencer hated AI Vision Promise to death at this moment.

If they hadn’t intervened and insisted on competing, would he have needed to spend so much more money?!

And now knowing State Grid is also a major client of Wayford Intelligence, with a ten-year contract, this is surely a profitable deal with no losses!

Justus Spencer gritted his teeth and said fiercely, ”Final offer, 5 billion! If you agree, we’ll sign today; if not, then forget it, we’ll withdraw!”

Luke Stern didn’t expect Justus Spencer to suddenly raise it to 5 billion. Both surprised and delighted, he said, ”Let me make a call!”

He immediately went out, found a secluded place, and called Kenneth Osborne, ”Mr. Osborne, it’s not that I’m neglecting you, but now Spencer’s Justus has offered 5 billion, I want to ask if you’re still interested...”

Kenneth Osborne chuckled, ”5 billion? Haha, then forget it, we’re just a small business, can’t afford it. We’re withdrawing from the bidding.”

Luke Stern was dumbfounded, ”No way? Mr. Osborne, you’re really not going to continue bidding?!”

”We’re a new company; the credit certificate we obtained is only for 3.5 billion. Asking us for 5 billion or even more, we can’t come up with it!” Kenneth Osborne sat back in his chair, a cold smile on his lips, while he sent a message to Francis Johnson: Done.

Luke Stern scratched his head, somewhat regretfully saying, ”Alright then, you think about it. I’ll give you 24 hours. If you don’t reply by this time tomorrow, then I can only apologize.”

”No need.” Kenneth Osborne declined very straightforwardly, ”I’m also in this business, and frankly, I felt uneasy yesterday and wanted to back out.”

Luke Stern didn’t understand why Kenneth Osborne suddenly changed his mind, but at this critical moment, he didn’t want Justus Spencer to withdraw either, so he quickly said, ”Mr. Osborne, think about it, within 24 hours, and please don’t mention your decision to anyone, okay?”

Kenneth Osborne’s smile widened, ”Why? Can you give me a reason not to tell?”

Luke Stern’s heart sank, ”Mr. Osborne, we’re all businessmen here...”

Luke Stern was very sure, as soon as Kenneth Osborne announced that AI Vision Promise was withdrawing from the acquisition, Spencer’s Justus would definitely lower the price, or might even abandon the acquisition.

Seeing himself drop from earning 5 billion to not receiving a penny, such a gap is something most people can’t endure.

And Luke Stern, even more, couldn’t bear it.

His face flushed red, as if all the blood in his body had rushed to his head.

”Yes, exactly. We’re all businessmen, we speak with money.” Kenneth Osborne said meaningfully, ”Do you really think your company is worth that much?”

Luke Stern widened his eyes, ”No way?! Mr. Osborne, what do you mean by that?! Weren’t you interested in acquiring us?”

”Of course, I’m very sincere in acquiring, but... we can’t compete with others; we don’t have the money others have... can’t I even speak a word of truth?” Kenneth Osborne said blandly.

He twirled the pen in his hand, finally feeling a kind of thrill of having ”a sword in hand, daring to bind the dragon.”

Luke Stern’s heart was racing, his blood surging in his chest, like a trapped beast backed into a corner, eager to leap up for a final blow.

He opened his mouth, wanting to lash out, to curse Kenneth Osborne, but remembering Spencer Group’s 5 billion, he had to lower his ”noble” head and said humbly, ”Mr. Osborne, don’t be like this, we can negotiate anything.”

”Hmm, it can be negotiated.” Kenneth Osborne sent him a message, ”I’ve developed an AI robotic system, priced at 1 billion, selling to your Wayford Intelligence. You don’t have to give me cash, just use shares of your company to exchange for it.”

Asking for 1 billion just like that, he was really gnawing at his flesh!

Luke Stern gritted his teeth in anger, ”... Mr. Osborne, what AI system is worth 1 billion?! Aren’t you overcharging?!”

”Mutual learning. I learned from you...” Kenneth Osborne said with a smile, ”If you don’t want it, then forget it, I’ll go on Weibo and announce I’ve withdrawn from the acquisition.”

”No, no, no!” Luke Stern finally realized he’d fallen into Kenneth Osborne’s trap!

This guy from the very beginning probably never intended to actually acquire, did he?!

Just a thirty-year-old mother holding a child.

But if Kenneth Osborne hadn’t intervened, how could his Wayford Intelligence have gone from 1 billion to 5 billion?!

Even if giving Kenneth Osborne 1 billion, he still has 4 billion...

If not, he could immediately lose 4 billion!

This calculation doesn’t need to be done; anyone would know what to do.

”Sign! I’ll sign, okay?” Luke Stern bit his lip, forcing a smile to say.
