Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 368: Chapter 200: A Lifetime of Smooth Sailing

The Crazy Girl quickly waved her hand and said, ”No, no! You really don’t have to! This is the money Kenneth earned through hard work, you really don’t have to give it to us...”

”Crazy Girl!” Lawrence Winters tugged at her hand, his face suddenly serious, ”How can you be like this? Listen carefully, this money isn’t for you! It’s for the child in your belly! You have no right to say no on its behalf!”

The Crazy Girl was stunned, and her mother quickly added, ”You child, why are you being stubborn again? Who would turn away money? — Does it really make you happy to pretend you have enough when you don’t?”

Joyce Shaw’s grandmother looked at Kenneth Osborne and Lawrence Winters, couldn’t help but wipe the corners of her eyes with the back of her hand, and choked out, ”It’s a blessing for Joyce to have friends like you... It’s just a pity... it’d be wonderful if he were alive...”

Obviously, neither the Crazy Girl’s mother nor Joyce’s grandmother refused, but the Crazy Girl still felt embarrassed, her face turning red as she said, ”But this child is half mine, why can’t I refuse?”

”Then consider it Joyce’s half. You can’t refuse on Joyce’s behalf, can you?” Kenneth’s expression wasn’t good either.

We’re all so familiar, yet you hesitate when offered a benefit, do you really think others’ money falls from the sky?

The Crazy Girl’s face turned even redder under Kenneth’s rebuke. She opened and closed her lips, stammering, unable to say anything.

Lawrence Winters pressed her shoulder and firmly said, ”Enough, this isn’t about what you think, it’s what I think. I think you should leave this money for the child, and that’s what you’ll do, understand?! Now is not the time for your ’noble and unyielding’ act!”

Lawrence Winters tapped her cheek with his finger, exasperated, ”To put it bluntly, when I used to read novels and saw those so-called brave women who ’left with nothing’ with their children, I’d call them big idiots!”

”You’re leaving with a child and not a cent, how will you survive?! Don’t naively think like a heroine hoping for a miracle!”

”You don’t take a penny, all the family assets would just benefit the scoundrel and the mistress! — For what?!”

The Crazy Girl laughed through her tears at Lawrence Winters’ words, wiping her eyes with a tissue, ”What a random metaphor! Kenneth’s money has nothing to do with me, how can you compare it to a mistress and a wife’s relationship?”

”I’m just making a point, focus on the message, don’t mind the details.” Lawrence Winters waved his hand casually, ”The point is, this money truly belongs to Joyce.”

She noticed the Crazy Girl’s concerns, so she changed her persuasion method.

Kenneth Osborne also understood, nodding, ”Nora is right. My investment wasn’t with cash, it was with a program, and Joyce was involved in it. Now that he’s not here, I’m just giving him what he deserves.”

The Crazy Girl slowly lowered her head.

Finally, she understood the goodwill of Kenneth Osborne and Lawrence Winters.

To make it easier for her to accept the money without any psychological burden, they even spun a lie about Joyce’s contribution to Kenneth’s software program...

Joyce was all about work since graduation, how could he have participated in Kenneth’s projects?

And the money they made before Joyce and Kenneth split their business had been accounted for and given to Joyce when he left.

Joyce had laid all of this out for the Crazy Girl long ago.

The house Joyce bought for their marriage was through the money from splitting with Kenneth.

Since they put it that way, if the Crazy Girl still refused, she’d not only be pretentious but also brainless.

The Crazy Girl sighed lightly and nodded, ”Alright, on behalf of the child, and Joyce, thank you. When the child is born, would you both like to be its godparents?”

”Of course, of course! Absolutely willing!” Lawrence Winters agreed immediately without waiting for Kenneth to react.

And Kenneth certainly wouldn’t refuse either.

He’s willing to adopt Joyce’s child, let alone be a godfather?

”Well, thank you.” The Crazy Girl smiled, ”Is there anything else I need to do?”

Kenneth said, ”Once the trust fund is set up, you come to the law firm to sign a document and manage it on behalf of the child.”

”I don’t know anything, I can only sign. As for management, you’ll have to find professionals to handle it.” The Crazy Girl no longer resisted, even glancing at Joyce’s grandmother.

Joyce’s grandmother truly breathed a sigh of relief.

In this way, the child will have a smooth life ahead.

She also resolved to live a few more years to help the Crazy Girl raise the child.

Moreover, with this money, the Crazy Girl can focus on raising the child without worrying about living expenses if she doesn’t have a salary.

After finishing things up, Kenneth Osborne and Lawrence Winters chatted with the Crazy Girl for a while, then bid farewell and left.

They didn’t stay to eat at the Crazy Girl’s home because they could tell the Crazy Girl and her mother still had things to discuss, so they didn’t interfere.

Back in the car, Lawrence Winters sighed, ”I hope the Crazy Girl can deliver the baby safely... Actually, it would be nice if we could adopt as well.”

Kenneth Osborne smirked, ”How would you manage on your own, wouldn’t you still end up leaving it to Aunt Wen and Uncle Zhang?”

Lawrence Winters made a face, laughed, ”Yeah, they’re mostly idle anyway, give them something to do so they stop watching me all day... Especially my great master, I always felt there’s something strange about the way he looks at me.”

Kenneth Osborne started the car, turning the wheel while saying, ”The old master treats you well, he’s concerned about you.”

”I know, it’s just that he still sees me as a kid, his compliments are so exaggerated, it’s embarrassing,” Lawrence Winters chuckled, shaking her head, ”You’ve never seen it. When I was ten and went into the mountains to visit him with my uncle, he treated me like a porcelain doll, carrying me everywhere. Not even a birth grandfather could be any more caring.”

Kenneth Osborne felt a stir in his heart; he knew Lawrence Winters had never seen her grandfather, maybe even her father.

He glanced at Lawrence Winters and couldn’t help but ask, ”Nora, do you want to meet your dad?”
