Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 374: Chapter 203: Born a Genius

”Yeah.” Lawrence Winters blinked in confusion, ”Why do you all look like you don’t believe it?”

Her gaze swept across Ian Lothrop, Francis Johnson, and Kenneth Osborne, quickly noticing their barely concealed disbelief.

Ian Lothrop sneered and said, ”Even elementary school students can recite the multiplication table. But after they learn it, can they build a spacecraft?”

Lawrence Winters: ”???”

What kind of ridiculous analogy is this? Forgive her stupidity, but she couldn’t grasp the logic between the two.

”Isn’t it? You also think it’s impossible, right?” Ian Lothrop scoffed, waved his hand to turn off the virtual screen, and leaned on the long table, saying thoughtfully, ”Reciting the multiplication table and knowing how to guide to achieve this effect is as far apart as an elementary school student learning the multiplication table and then being able to build a spacecraft. — Do you understand what I’m saying now?”

Lawrence Winters laughed awkwardly, ”I understand. You’re praising me as a genius!”

Ian Lothrop: ”!!!”

He was initially quite upset, but was soon amused by Lawrence Winters’ few words. Pointing at her, he laughed, ”You’re such a carefree little fortune teller! So open-minded, it’s a blessing not to be petty like most girls who dwell on others’ words repeatedly in their hearts!”

Lawrence Winters said earnestly, ”Professor Lothrop, you’re wrong. I have even more heart than most girls. Others might ponder on a single phrase seventeen or eighteen times, but I can think eighty-eight times!”

”Oh? You think so much, yet you don’t seem to hold a grudge inside?” Ian Lothrop asked in all seriousness.

”It’s precisely because I think too much that I return to the starting point and find simplicity,” Lawrence Winters laughed, ”I’ve long learned not to be angry with people. My uncle said girls who keep sulking are prone to breast hyperplasia, which could lead to cancer if severe.”

Francis Johnson and Kenneth Osborne both looked a bit uneasy and turned their gaze away, wishing they could plug their ears.

Only Ian Lothrop continued to enthusiastically discuss the academic topic of ”women getting angry” with Lawrence Winters.

”That’s true, being angry indeed can cause breast hyperplasia,” Ian Lothrop nodded seriously, ”The most direct consequence of anger is endocrine disorder, which is the number one cause of breast hyperplasia. So being angry leads to breast hyperplasia, no doubt about it.”

Lawrence Winters exclaimed, surprised, ”Really? I thought my uncle was just trying to scare me... But I’ve indeed learned not to be angry with people; whenever I feel upset, I take it out and let it go, never overnight.”

Ian Lothrop laughed and patted her shoulder, ”Good girl, it’s fun talking to you. Your uncle seems interesting too. Could you let me meet him sometime?”

”Sure! No problem!” Lawrence Winters readily agreed, ”My uncle most admires the intellectuals in universities. I know he also wants to be a university professor, but... fate played a cruel trick...”

Lawrence Winters shook her head and said with some regret.

”Haha, maybe there’ll be a chance in the future,” Ian Lothrop said as he prepared to leave.

But Lawrence Winters still remembered the delicious seafood fried rice from a certain country, hastily calling after him, ”Professor Lothrop, what about the seafood fried rice you mentioned?”

Ian Lothrop rubbed his head, regretting not managing to sneak away successfully, and said, ”...Wait a minute, I’ll make a call.”

Ian Lothrop stepped outside Francis Johnson’s office, pulled out his phone, and called Lydia Graham.

Lydia Graham was in her office reading documents. Seeing Ian Lothrop’s number, she quickly answered, ”Dad, what’s up?”

Ian Lothrop proudly said, ”Tell your husband that I’ve invited someone for some country’s seafood fried rice, and they specifically asked for him to cook. Ask him when he’ll be free to make us a pot today...”

His voice faded as he spoke, noticeably lacking confidence.

Lydia Graham immediately knew Ian Lothrop was just ”using it as an excuse.”

With Christopher Mason’s current status, who dares to ”ask him specifically to cook”? — Except family, like herself, Asai, and also Ian Lothrop.

However, Ian Lothrop always tries to promote Patrick while undermining Christopher Mason, so he rarely asks specifically for Christopher Mason to cook for him.

Today suddenly requesting Christopher Mason to make his specialty seafood fried rice, there was surely another reason behind it.

Lydia Graham held the phone and said, ”Oh” with a long tone, ”Dad, not even little Asai who is three years old would believe this. Do you think I would believe it?”

”My daughter is the smartest, immediately sensing I’m fibbing,” Ian Lothrop, not ashamed but proud, ”flattered” Lydia Graham, softening his tone quickly, ”...I had no choice, lost a bet with someone, so I have to ask your husband to help make the meal...”
