Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 343: Chapter 188: A Friend’s Wife Is Off-Limits (First Update)

Lucas Harlow chuckled, buckled his seatbelt, and casually said, ”You’re really thinking far ahead... Common ground? Do you think you’ll ever have a day with Lawrence Winters where you’ll need that term?”

”Hah, just wait and see!” Edward Foster started the car and didn’t forget to glance at himself in the rearview mirror, smugly saying, ”Although Kenneth Osborne is just a tiny bit more handsome, my family background is way better than his! Besides, don’t you think Kenneth and I are the same type of handsome?”

He ran a hand through his hair, flicked it back, revealing a clean and full forehead, ”See... In terms of overall strength, besides you, I’m unbeatable nationwide!”

Lucas Harlow propped his elbow on the car window’s edge, resting his side face on one hand, lazily said, ”You’ve finally admitted I’m more handsome than you?”

Edward Foster stepped on the gas pedal displeasingly, ”Ah, spit! Which ear of yours heard me admit you’re more handsome than me? Clearly, it’s because your family background is much stronger than mine! That’s why my looks are diluted by your origins!”

Lucas Harlow shook his head, ”What’s family background got to do with it? Lawrence doesn’t care about that. If she really cared about family background, would she be with Kenneth Osborne?”

”Maybe she didn’t have a choice back then?” Edward Foster skillfully turned the steering wheel, driving the Maserati sports car like a turtle, focusing on talking about Lawrence Winters with Lucas Harlow.

For some reason, Edward Foster had never experienced such feelings before.

He realized he really liked her, liked to the point where just hearing someone mention her name made him overjoyed, and he wished others would say more about her.

Lucas Harlow was momentarily silent, prompting Edward Foster to urge, ”Speak up! What do you think?”

Lucas Harlow seemed reluctant to discuss the topic, disinterestedly said, ”Don’t overthink it. If you’re serious about pursuing her, get your family’s approval first. Once they agree, wait for the opportunity. Otherwise, if you hook the girl but your family doesn’t agree, it’ll be troublesome.”

Lucas Harlow paused, his voice turning somber, ”...If that happens, we can’t even be friends anymore.”

”Hey, Lucas, clarify yourself. Is it if I win Lawrence over, you won’t be my friend anymore, or if my family disapproves, you won’t be friends with me?” Edward Foster slyly smiled, ”If you help me, my family will definitely approve!”

Lucas Harlow suddenly felt a sense of frustration.

He glanced at the focused-driving Edward Foster, thinking about the possibility of Lawrence marrying Edward, after which she would be not just anyone’s wife but ”a good friend’s wife,” he felt very unhappy.

A friend’s wife is off-limits.

He’s not someone who prioritizes romance over friendship.

Those who know him well understand that he’s always been indifferent about external things like money, identity, and status, and has never harbored possessive feelings over others or things.

His family is a large clan with many siblings, and among them, he is acknowledged for having a good rapport because he’s never in competition with anyone.

Only this time, he realized he actually had the desire to keep someone to himself, not letting others see, not letting others covet...

Lucas Harlow sighed lightly, and casually said, ”Neither. Even though we’re friends, in this matter, it’s every man for himself.”

Edward Foster was startled, slamming on the brakes suddenly.

The Maserati let out a sharp screech, the sound of the tires scraping against the asphalt during the emergency stop.

The car behind also braked suddenly, and when the driver saw the license plate of the car ahead, they broke out in a cold sweat.

”Drive properly, stop being so jumpy, show some composure!” Lucas Harlow shot him a glance, then shifted his gaze forward.

Edward Foster released the brake and pressed the gas pedal, ignoring the blaring horns behind him, questioning Lucas Harlow, ”...You’re serious? Brother? I heard from your family that you clearly like men!”

Lucas Harlow’s face darkened, ”Which bastard said that! Name them, if I don’t beat them up, I’m not Harlow!”

”You were never a Harlow.” Edward Foster sneered, quickly driving to the company’s underground parking and unbuckling his seatbelt. He then turned serious, saying, ”Then it’s settled, fair competition.”

Lucas Harlow nodded.

The two walked towards the elevator together.

As the elevator smoothly ascended, Edward Foster regretted it again, angrily saying, ”No way! We can’t have a fair competition! I want special privileges!”
