Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 321: Chapter 177: I’ve Read Too Many Books for You to Fool Me (Second Update, 600+ Monthly Tickets)

”What?! Are you out of your mind?!” Justus Spencer was furious and embarrassed by Spring Spencer’s remarks, and realized he hadn’t initially thought about comforting the employees and their families, which indeed showed some management negligence, but he would never admit to this in front of Spring Spencer.

”Brother, now’s not the time for arguing. How about this, I’ll head up north first to comfort Joyce Shaw’s family, and express our company’s position that we must catch Joyce Shaw’s murderer. As for the other two involved employees, we’ll also urge the police to investigate carefully, making sure not to miss any wrongdoers or falsely accuse a good person, how does that sound?”

Spring Spencer sincerely proposed her handling opinion.

Justus Spencer immediately felt this approach was correct, better than the advice Thomas had given, and more in line with the country’s conditions.

But precisely because of this, he didn’t want Spring Spencer to take charge, so he said with a smile, ”You were thinking the same as me. I’ve already sent people to find Joyce Shaw’s family, and we’ll also make our position clear.”

Spring Spencer nodded and laughed, ”Great minds think alike.”

Justus Spencer thought, who’s thinking alike with you? The ’hero’ refers to men, what makes you a hero?

Despite his contempt for Spring Spencer in his heart, he said with a smile, ”You’re right, little sister. How about this, I’ll go north myself. When I’m not here, you help me exercise the CEO’s authority and when I return, I’ll report to the board and give you credit!”

Spring Spencer quickly waved her hand, seriously saying, ”No, no, I’m the Chief Financial Officer, I can’t simultaneously act as CEO. That’s against company regulations. You should find a vice president to act as CEO.”

Justus Spencer was choked, thinking how Spring Spencer was still so cautious at this time.

Since one plan didn’t work, Justus Spencer proposed another, ”Then how about this, you help me find a vice president to act as CEO. My flight ticket is already booked and it’s about to take off.”

To his surprise, Spring Spencer still didn’t fall for it, she said with a smile, ”Actually, with technology being so advanced, even if you go north, it doesn’t affect your exercise of CEO’s authority, so why find a substitute? — Besides, inviting Buddha is easy, sending Buddha away is difficult, right?”

Justus Spencer didn’t expect Spring Spencer was genuinely thinking about him, which made him even more uneasy.

He didn’t want to believe a word his sister said, in his heart, Spring Spencer was far less intimately connected to him than Summer Spencer who grew up with him.

Yet Spring Spencer’s words were always so reasonable.

He put on a comforting smile, ”True, then let’s do it this way. We can stay in contact online, if anything requires my signature, just fax it over.”

”Okay. Brother, be careful, don’t get too tired, don’t rush things.” Spring Spencer said a few comforting words, then turned to leave.

As soon as Spring Spencer came out of Justus Spencer’s office, her smile disappeared.

Their three siblings, was there ever any family love?

Even at this point, Justus Spencer wouldn’t forget to suppress her, it was truly enough.

Justus Spencer didn’t bother to notice Spring Spencer’s mood change, he immediately called Summer Spencer.

Summer Spencer had been kicked out of Spencer Group headquarters months ago to set up an entertainment company, she was quite happy at first, but then felt regretful.

So when she received Justus Spencer’s call, she immediately asked, ”Brother! When are you going to transfer me back to headquarters?!”

Justus Spencer tugged at the corner of his mouth, ”Summer, help your brother with something, after you finish, I’ll have reason to get you credit with the board and then transfer you back as vice president, above the CFO position, how does that sound?!”

”Really?!” Summer Spencer was thrilled, ”Brother, I’ve read a lot of books, don’t deceive me!”

Justus Spencer smiled, ”I know second sister you’re well-read, I wouldn’t dare deceive you! — Here’s the thing...”

With that, he repeated to Summer Spencer what he had just discussed with Spring Spencer regarding Victory Wise and Joyce Shaw.

After listening, Summer Spencer immediately exclaimed, ”What?! The local police are issuing seals again! Moving computers! Isn’t this more than excessive? This is extremely excessive! Is the Spencer Group theirs to mess with?! We mustn’t let them off like this!”

With a completely different reaction from Spring Spencer, Justus Spencer was satisfied and smiled.

Right, that’s the reaction I was expecting...

Why are women too smart for their own good?
