Daddy Always Gets Jealous

”...”

The little one sat there feeling stuffed up, looking in the direction of the driver’s seat. His voice had been so low; how could Huo Jinnan still hear him? Really!

Huo Jinnan continued driving, his eyes’ peripheral vision always keeping watch on the surrounding traffic.

Che Huan looked at Huo Jinnan, biting her lip as she stared at his back. If things continued this way, without any movement, all the evidence would point to her mother, herself, and Nuannuan! Could it be... could it really be that the other party did it on purpose, to lull them into a false sense of security?

With that thought, her brows furrowed.

Currently, she couldn’t reach Qiao Qiao, and Qiao Qiao wasn’t contacting her! If it weren’t for his trust in her, she really would have been at a loss for words.

The little one rubbed the back of his head, glancing at the absent-minded Huanhuan, wondering why she was frowning!

He then looked back at Huo Jinnan, his eyes falling on the ashtray’s position, and suddenly his pupils sparkled. He spoke earnestly, ”Huo Jinnan, Huanhuan has a little baby in her belly, how can you still smoke!”

Huo Jinnan’s brows knitted for a moment.

The little one finally caught Huo Jinnan red-handed and with a stern face, spoke up, ”Did you hear that? From now on, no smoking.”

”...”

Huo Jinnan turned to look at the little one.

The little one burrowed into Che Huan’s arms, puffing out his cheeks.

Che Huan looked at Huo Jinnan and smiled sweetly, ”I think Xiaowei has a point.”

Huo Jinnan’s gaze fell upon Che Huan.

The little one glanced at them and suddenly remembered a dream from long ago. Could it be coming true?

Che Huan looked at Huo Jinnan, her clear eyes and white teeth flashing, ”Drive carefully; you’re not alone in the car. We’re a family of four now.”

”Why not say five or six?”

Huo Jinnan sat up straight and continued to drive.

”...”

Che Huan looked at Huo Jinnan, suddenly remembering the gift he had given to her mother today. It seemed both he and her mother intended to keep her in the dark, so she didn’t ask further.

Upon returning to Nanyuan Villa, the housekeeper had already prepared dinner.

Seeing them enter, Zhong Qin and the housekeeper began setting out the dishes together.

The little one glanced at Che Huan’s belly and took her hand as they entered the dining room.

As they walked, he wondered what the baby inside Huanhuan’s belly looked like now.

Huo Jinnan, following behind and changing into slippers, turned his head and asked Uncle Lu, ”Has Huo Bei not come back yet?”

Uncle Lu, ”Not yet.”

Huo Jinnan glanced at his watch, ”When he arrives, tell him to find me in the study.”

Uncle Lu then remembered that Mr. Guan had come by today, ”Sir, Mr. Guan brought some things over again, said they were from the old master for the missus.”

Huo Jinnan, one hand pocketed in his trousers, had just touched the cigarette pack but, recalling the little one’s words, his slender fingers had just touched the cigarette and then pressed it back in place, ”Did you accept it?”

Uncle Lu, ”I did not.”

Huo Jinnan swept a glance at Uncle Lu, ”Accept it next time.”

”...”

Uncle Lu looked at Huo Jinnan, had the sir just told him to accept it?

Huo Jinnan, in his crisply pressed trousers, entered the dining room to see Zhong Qin and the little one seated next to Che Huan with no place left for him. He walked over, picked up the little one by the collar and placed him on the side, then elegantly sat down beside Che Huan, ”Eat well now while you still have an appetite. In a few days, you might not be able to eat with the morning sickness.”

Che Huan remembered her severe reactions during her last pregnancy and, compared to Gu Yunqing’s lighter experience.

Thinking of Gu Yunqing, her mind drifted to Gu Yunqing’s child and Xiaowei; then back to herself and Fang Tong, her brows knit as she looked at Huo Jinnan, ”Did Gu Yunqing really get pregnant before?”

Huo Jinnan took the towel passed to him by the housekeeper and wiped his hands, his movements charming as he picked up a pair of chopsticks, ”Hmm, she was.”

Che Huan smiled and leaned towards Huo Jinnan, whispering, ”Then... was it yours that she was carrying?”
