Daddy Always Gets Jealous

The next day

Uncle Guan visited Gu Jizhou at the detention center.

Gu Jizhou sat there with his head down, silent, his face a picture of despair.

Seeing him in his prison garb, Uncle Guan couldn’t help but sigh, ”Young Master Gu, do you have a red photo album in your bedroom?”

At the mention of the red photo album, Gu Jizhou suddenly looked up.

Observing his reaction, Uncle Guan was sure he was right and asked quietly, ”What kind of photos are inside?”

Gu Jizhou’s body stiffened, and after a while, he asked in a low voice, ”Uncle Guan, why are you asking about this?”

Uncle Guan did not mention the divorce between Huo Jinyun and Gu Yunping. ”It got lost when the housekeeping service came to clean, so I’m just asking.”

Hearing this, Gu Jizhou reverted to his previous state, sitting there and muttering dully, ”If it’s lost, let it be.”

Uncle Guan said softly, ”The housekeeping company found several albums, so I came to confirm with Young Master Gu.”

Gu Jizhou sat there, eyes closed, ”No need, if it’s lost, so be it!”

Uncle Guan, ”...”

”...”

Gu Jizhou clenched his clothes tightly, thinking of the photos inside, all of Che Huan, the person was already gone, what do the photos matter! It’s better they’re gone, no more yearning, and no more feeling like a shameless thief!

Uncle Guan, ”Young Master Gu.”

”You may go.”

Gu Jizhou stood up and turned to leave the visitation room.

Back in the detention cell, sitting alone on the hard bed, he looked down at the floor, his hair having grown long enough to obscure his eyes.

Why hasn’t Huo Jinnan made a move yet? Why won’t he put an end to this?

In fact, in this lifetime, he didn’t hate Huo Jinnan.

He didn’t understand that kind of feeling, like a pyramid one looks up to, never able to surpass, yet always feared and dreaded, becoming a curse in his heart!

Thinking of Uncle Guan’s sympathetic gaze, he felt uncomfortable all over.

Something must have happened on his mother’s side, right? It had been a long time since she had come to visit, even his father stopped coming.

Although he didn’t know what exactly happened, he guessed it was nothing good!

But no matter what, he didn’t need pity!

...

Uncle Guan returned to Huo Mansion, ”Elder, Young Master Gu didn’t say what was inside the album. He seemed reluctant to talk about it, probably just some casual photos.”

The elder ”hmm”ed, ”Uncle Guan, do you think I’m being too biased?”

Uncle Guan smiled, remaining silent.

The elder shook his head, ”If it were Anan and Jizhou switched around, I’d still make the same choice.”

”I understand.”

Uncle Guan looked at the elder.

The elder sighed, ”But Anan doesn’t understand.”

Huo Bei looked at Huo Jinnan, ”Sir, Uncle Guan made a trip to the detention center.”

Huo Jinnan didn’t look up, ”Go do your work.”

Huo Bei glanced at the photo album and diary kept aside in the study, then left the room, closing it behind him.

After finishing a video conference with Yu Zimu and Shen You, Huo Jinnan closed his laptop, cast a sidelong glance, and opened the diary, flipping through it casually. He didn’t flip through many pages before he reached the spot where Che Huan was on the recording.

After scanning it for a few moments and taking another look at the photo album, he picked it up to divert his gaze.

Turning his attention back, he took the diary and left the study, looked down at it, and made a call to Wen Ru, ”Mom, do you have time?”

Hearing Wen Ru say she had time, Huo Jinnan lit a cigarette, ”Good, I’ll come over with Huanhuan to see you in a while. I also have something I want to give you.”
