Daddy Always Gets Jealous

”...”

”If something like this contract issue happens again, don’t blame me for not being nice. I’m letting you off this time solely because you are his sister—mind yourself, and don’t be used as a pawn by others without realizing it.”

Huo Jinxue stood there, dazed, watching Che Huan leave in her high heels.

Did Second Brother know about the contract matter?

At that thought, she felt a wave of fear!

Considering what Che Huan had said, could it be true? Could Huo Jinyun have really treated Mom that way?

After closing the door, she sat there, growing more and more uneasy the more she thought about it.

Picking up her phone, she hesitated, then called Huo Jinnan.

After three rings, the call connected, but before she could hear a voice, Huo Jinxue panicked and hung up the phone!

If Second Brother found out, how would he treat her?

Did Second Brother really lose hundreds of millions?

But at that time, wasn’t she told it was only targeting Che Huan?

Remembering Che Huan’s last words, ”Don’t be used as a pawn by others without realizing it,” she felt both embarrassed and furious!

Picking up the phone again, she found that the number had already been disconnected.

Huo Jinxue sat there, knowing it was too late for regrets.

On the way back, Che Huan thought of that diary. She had read it before without understanding, but lately, she had begun to grasp its meaning.

While driving, Uncle Lu glanced over at Che Huan, ”Madam, I hope the young lady didn’t give you any trouble?”

Che Huan smiled, ”No.”

Thinking about Huo Jinxue, perhaps speaking kindly to her was actually counterproductive. She wondered if this approach would work, hoping she would come to her senses and not make Mother Zhong sad, not to disappoint him.

Pausing, she thought again of the diary, wondering if it contained even more events? Maybe about Mom?

At that thought, she asked Uncle Lu, ”How is the Gu Family doing now?”

Uncle Lu hesitated, then spoke slowly, ”It seems that the young master and the eldest miss have gotten divorced.”

Divorced?

It seemed like Huo Jinnan had never mentioned it to her.

Che Huan looked at Uncle Lu.

Uncle Lu said softly, ”The young master went to attend the wedding of Madam’s mother and President Qin. It seems something unpleasant occurred with the eldest miss, he went to a club, and was caught in the act by the old master’s people. At that time, the young master was drunk and not yet sober, clamoring for a divorce, and the old master got so angry that he went ahead with it.”

”...”

Che Huan, not knowing what to say after hearing this, thought of the diary again, ”Who got the Gu Family’s previous residence after that?”

Uncle Lu said softly, ”Of course, the eldest miss. The young master probably left without a penny to his name.”

”...”

Che Huan said nothing, perhaps in the mind of the Huo Family patriarch, everything from the Gu Family was given by the Huo Family. Huo Jinyun probably thought the same, right?

She remembered, at the Gu Mansion, Huo Jinyun never considered Gu Yunping’s feelings. Over time, even his love for Huo Jinyun dwindled away.

Uncle Lu looked at Che Huan, ”Madam, why do you suddenly ask about this?”

Che Huan smiled, ”Just asking.”

Thinking of the diary, she knew she wouldn’t be able to get it by just going there; the Gu Mansion was probably being watched by the old master’s people, right?

But if she went there with nothing to hide, the old master wouldn’t openly do anything to her.

With this in mind, she said to Uncle Lu, ”Let’s stop by the Gu Mansion first.”

”...”

Uncle Lu looked at Che Huan, unsure what the madam had in mind.

But remembering the young master’s words that the madam was the mistress of Nanyuan Villa, he drove towards the Gu Mansion.
