Daddy Always Gets Jealous

Huo Jinnan’s gaze landed on her hand, telling her now was not only the wrong time, it would only make her worry.

He shifted his eyes away, looking down at the cigarette between his fingers as the smoke wafted around him.

Che Huan snuck a peek and saw his motions, her gaze drifting to his hand. The man’s slender fingers carelessly flicked the cigarette, shaking off the ash. With a twist of his wrist, he crushed the whole cigarette in the ashtray.

His hands were appealing, stained subtly between the middle and index fingers from years of smoking, which far from detracting from their beauty, added an indescribable charm.

The little guy had a pair of attractive hands too, had he inherited them from him?

Huo Jinnan leaned back in the car seat, unfastening two buttons of his shirt to reveal the seductive Adam’s apple, ”If you think he’s pitiable, you can take care of him more in the future.”

Che Huan bit her lip, remaining silent.

He made it sound so noble, without blushing or skipping a beat!

If it wasn’t for the little guy being as comforting as a small padded jacket, just because of Gu Yunqing’s connection alone, she wouldn’t have possibly liked him!

Huo Jinnan glanced at Che Huan’s face and raised his hand to caress her cheek, his eyes deep and penetrating, ”When did you find out I’m Huo Minhan’s dad?”

He couldn’t possibly think she had known for a long time, could he? That she approached the little guy because of him, playing some kind of hard-to-get game?

Che Huan’s heartbeat was frantic, ”I was only guessing at first, I became certain after seeing Uncle Lu.”

Huo Jinnan’s finger glided over her cheek, his thumb carrying the scent of tobacco, pervading her overly sensitive sense of smell, his gravelly voice containing a tremble-inducing power, ”He must have been deliberately kidnapped.”

Kidnapped?

A father whose son was kidnapped and was still calmly hitting on a girl here—probably only he could do that!

Che Huan’s heart tightened into a knot, ”Aren’t you going to call the police?”

Huo Jinnan swept her a glance, remaining silent.

Che Huan couldn’t help but speak out, ”You don’t want to deal with it, do you?”

Huo Jinnan moved his hand away, ”Calling the police wouldn’t be of much use, the kidnapping must have a purpose, and the other party will naturally contact me.”

Although what he said made sense, a father so calm about his son’s kidnapping was really rare!

It was actually her who seemed more anxious than he was!

Che Huan looked at Huo Jinnan, ”The little guy is so smart, he should be fine, right?”

Huo Jinnan spoke in a low voice, ”Cleverness.”

Cleverness is still smartness, how much can a four-year-old child comprehend?

Huo Jinnan started the car, ”Call Wen Nuan, I’ll take you there.”

Che Huan responded and picked up her phone to call Wen Nuan, but no one answered, suddenly she felt an ominous sensation!

Huo Jinnan looked towards Che Huan, his eyes landing on her furrowed brows.

Che Huan held her phone, listening silently and nervously, just hoping the call would go through the next second!

Having divorced so smoothly, without even needing to see each other’s faces, Gu Jizhou surely wouldn’t let it go so easily!

He wouldn’t go after her uncle and Wen Nuan, would he? Or could it be he was behind the little guy’s kidnapping?

At this thought, she looked in Huo Jinnan’s direction, feeling it was unlikely—the little guy was Gu Yunqing’s child! Gu Jizhou’s aunt’s son, Gu Jizhou couldn’t possibly kidnap the little guy, could he?

”Don’t be nervous, let’s wait a bit,” Huo Jinnan gently pinched her hand.

Che Huan looked at Huo Jinnan, feeling as if a mysterious force had just passed through his palm into her body, bringing a sense of peace.

A few minutes later, Wen Nuan’s call came through, ”Sister Huanhuan.”

Hearing that Wen Nuan’s tone was off, Che Huan quickly asked, ”What’s wrong?”
