Daddy Always Gets Jealous

She was here for a blind date with Doctor Shen, so following his lead in addressing him should be fine, right?

And him—since he knows Doctor Shen, he wouldn’t do anything inappropriate, would he?

With this thought, she naturally glanced at Huo Jinnan.

Huo Jinnan swept a look in Che Huan’s direction, his eyes deep and piercing. Casually lighting a cigarette, he didn’t speak but nodded slightly, handing his suit to the waiter who had just entered.

For a moment, no one spoke.

Wen Nuan scanned the room, finding the atmosphere somewhat strange, but couldn’t quite put her finger on what was off!

However, all her thoughts were on her idol.

She stole several looks at Huo Jinnan, and couldn’t help but mentally complain. When she greeted her idol earlier, he ignored her, but when Sister Huanhuan greeted him, he nodded. And remembering how he had kept his eyes on Sister Huanhuan that day? She felt an indignant pang in her heart—was she really that unappealing? She was a ”cute little cabbage,” after all!

After her silent grumbling, she suddenly thought how great it would be if Sister Huanhuan had a blind date with her idol today! What a spirited brother-in-law he would make!

But she wondered if her idol was single?

Such an excellent catch must have already been taken, right?

Seeing Wen Nuan like this, Che Huan suddenly regretted bringing her along. ”Excuse me, I need to go to the restroom.”

She stood up too quickly, accidentally causing her chair to topple, and she started to fall backward.

Before Wen Nuan could react, the chair was already steadied by Huo Jinnan, who had stood up to answer a call.

Che Huan blushed, muttered a ”thank you,” and quickly exited the private room.

Huo Jinnan looked at Shen You and Shen Mubai, ”Taking a call.”

He followed Che Huan out.

Only when the door clicked shut did Wen Nuan snap back to reality. Her idol really did treat Sister Huanhuan differently! But it seemed like Sister Huanhuan didn’t know her idol, what exactly was going on?

She turned to Shen You, ”Hello, Mr. Shen.”

”Hello, Miss Nuannuan.”

After the greetings, Shen You looked down and let out a knowing smile. Miss Che’s calling of ’Brother Huo’ earlier was really something, any man would be stiffened by her soft and moist voice!

Miss Che was heading to the restroom and Brother Huo got a call at the same time—what a coincidence, right?

Recalling that his old man mentioned she was the niece of his old friend Wen Hua, Miss Che seemed more and more like a mystery.

Wen Nuan pointed towards the door, ”Just now, that... ”

Then she remembered that Sister Huanhuan was here for a blind date with Doctor Shen; asking like that seemed inappropriate, so she cut herself off and sneaked a glance at Shen Mubai, ”I’ll also head to the restroom real quick.”

Shen You guessed that Brother Huo would have something to handle and pointed at the restroom inside the private room, ”There’s one inside.”

Wen Nuan replied with an ”Oh,” stood up, and walked toward the restroom.

Once she was inside, Shen Mubai looked at Shen You, ”How come Brother Huo is here?”

”Ran into him on the way. He heard I was going on a blind date and followed me here. I still haven’t figured out what’s going on,” Shen You shrugged, looking at Shen Mubai thoughtfully. Was it possible that Brother Huo had known all along about today’s blind date with Miss Che and ambushed them on the way? But if he didn’t know, how could Brother Huo be aware?

After a pause, he delicately spoke up, ”Brother, I don’t think Miss Che is quite right for you.”

Shen Mubai glanced at Shen You, understanding he couldn’t speak plainly, and thought about the medical report from the other day, ”I understand.”

Shen You breathed a sigh of relief, hoping his brother had caught the hint.

————Restroom————

Che Huan heard footsteps behind her and her heart sped up. Not wanting to meet him alone, she hurried into the restroom.

He wouldn’t follow her into the ladies’ room, would he?

Just as she was feeling relieved, the door closed, and turning around, she saw Huo Jinnan standing there, ”Mr. Huo, this is the ladies’ restroom. You...”
