Daddy Always Gets Jealous

Chapter 214: 214 Divorce, Car Accident (4)_1

Just now, I received orders from my superiors: a landslide on the Gangdong Highway has blocked the road, and the nearby village has been severely affected. We need to swiftly activate Level IV flood emergency response and head out for disaster relief and emergency efforts.

I don’t know when Jizhou left, I hope he wasn’t in that area!

I tried to call Gu Jizhou, but as expected, no one answered. I heavily set the phone aside, feeling a surge of frustration. He’s being so willful! Too willful!

After a while, suppressing the sudden anger, I looked toward the guard officer at my side and said in a deep voice, ”Take a few men and an armored vehicle and search along the Gangdong Highway for a white Ferrari with the license plate number GA—8866.”

”Yes, sir!”

The guard officer saluted and went out.

Huo Qichang sat in his office chair, his expression very grave.

Not long after Jizhou arrived at the military base, eager to transfer to military status, I discovered the word ’married’ in his file, and that’s when I found out about Che Huan.

I never imagined that Gu Jizhou could be so reckless, hiding a secret marriage for five years from both me and his father!

Fearing the old man would worry, I directly helped Gu Jizhou transfer to military status here, and at the same time, I submitted a divorce application. Through the military’s channels, everything was settled in a week, but I didn’t expect Jizhou to suddenly leave and head back to Hong Kong because of this!

After some thought, I returned a call to Huo Jinyun, ”Ayun, why have you and Grandpa been kept in the dark about Jizhou and Che Huan’s marriage?”

Upon hearing this, Huo Jinyun glanced in the old man’s direction and hurriedly got up and left the Huo Mansion, stuttering, ”Dad....”

Huo Qichang said sternly, ”Jizhou is willful, but you should not have indulged him! Married for five years, and neither I nor your grandfather had any inkling, it’s preposterous!”

Huo Jinyun looked back at the Huo Mansion and walked to the side, ”Dad, you know how Jizhou is, I couldn’t stop him. At the time, Che Huan was pregnant, he took the household registration booklet without my knowledge and got the certificate; it caught me by surprise. Because of what happened in the past, I’ve also been afraid to bring it up with you and Grandpa...”

Huo Qichang spoke gravely, ”Alright, I’ve already handled his divorce here. Keep this matter from your grandfather and pretend it never happened.”

Hearing this, Huo Jinyun finally understood why Jizhou had suddenly returned to Hong Kong, ”I know, Dad.”

Huo Qichang added in a much lower voice, ”It’s precisely because of this that Jizhou suddenly went back to Hong Kong.”

Huo Jinyun made a sound of acknowledgment, and seeing the old man standing on the balcony looking in her direction, she went back into the Huo Mansion. The television was broadcasting live news, ”At present, 58 personnel from the Winter City military, public security bureau, and firefighters, along with 12 rescue vehicles and one assault boat, have urgently evacuated the residents flooded by a flash flood...”

Huo Qichang also heard the news anchor’s voice through the phone, his voice much lower, ”Ayun, don’t worry, Jizhou just left and hasn’t reached that section of the road yet; I’ve already sent people to follow him.”

His words had just ended when suddenly, a ”crack” was heard, a streak of light flashed, and the sky seemed to tear open, the downpour became fiercer, like a mighty river cascading down.

Huo Jinyun didn’t have the chance to respond before the call dropped.

Huo Qichang stood up and looked outside into the increasingly fierce wind that sent branches thrashing wildly, hitting the windows with a rattle.

I don’t know Jizhou’s situation at the moment.

He picked up his cellphone and saw that there was a missed call. It was from Jizhou, just moments ago.
