Daddy Always Gets Jealous

Chapter 221: 221 Meet Gu Yunqing (3)_1

After walking a distance and finding themselves alone, Huo Jinyun looked towards Gu Yunping, ”Go find Che Huan, but make sure not to demean yourself by begging her in a lowly manner. And by the way, tell her that if anything happens to Jizhou, I will never let her off the hook!”

Gu Yunping spoke with a displeased tone, not too amiable, ”At a time like this, why are you still holding a grudge against Che Huan? I can’t afford not to say good things.”

”Gu Yunping...”

Huo Jinyun was about to say something but before she could, she saw Gu Yunping turn and head towards the stairs. Staring at his retreating back, she curled her fingers tighter and tighter—

Che Huan, you and your daughter are truly my nemeses in this life!

Che Huan, once Jizhou wakes up, I’ll settle scores with you slowly!

...

Che Huan was watching TV in the living room when she heard someone knock on the door. Thinking it was Wen Nuan coming over, she glanced at the time. Wasn’t it agreed to be two hours later? Why so early!

She stood up, opened the door, and saw Gu Yunping. The name ”Nuannuan” almost slipped out but she swallowed it back.

Recalling the days at the Gu Family, when Gu Yunping was quite pleasant towards her, she greeted him with a ”Uncle Gu.”

Seeing Che Huan, Gu Yunping felt conflicted. He didn’t dislike Che Huan, in fact, he was quite satisfied with this daughter-in-law before. But because of her, Yunqing and Jizhou were successively in trouble, making it hard for him to be as open-hearted as before, ”Huanhuan, may I come in and sit for a while?”

Thinking that Gu Yunping was reasonable, not like Mrs. Gu, Che Huan let him in, poured him a cup of hot water, and silently sat beside him.

Gu Yunping said ”Thank you,” took a seat on the sofa, sipped the water, and then slowly spoke, ”Huanhuan, I came today to talk about you and Jizhou.”

Che Huan gave a polite yet distant smile, ”Uncle Gu, the divorce case between me and Gu Jizhou goes to court tomorrow.”

It dawned on Gu Yunping that it was because the court session was tomorrow that Jizhou had rushed back. Suddenly, it felt like a thorn had lodged in his heart. Without speaking, he just sat there in silence.

Turning his head, he saw several bunches of white roses on the side table and fixated on them for a long while.

Che Huan noticed his expression but had no intention of explaining.

After quite some time, Gu Yunping looked away. With Jizhou now lying unconscious in the hospital, and Che Huan already seeing someone else, bringing up the divorce made him very uncomfortable. Thinking back to the call Jizhou made to Yunyun before dawn, his heart ached—

Jizhou cared so much for Che Huan, yet Che Huan...

After a long silence, he finally turned to Che Huan, ”Do you really have to divorce Jizhou?”

Che Huan brushed aside her bangs, smiling indifferently, ”Uncle Gu, do you think there’s any difference now between me and him getting divorced? Once divorced, Mrs. Gu can find a daughter-in-law she’s happy with, and the president can find someone he likes. Isn’t that good?”

Gu Yunping put down his cup, ”Che Huan, Jizhou is now lying in the hospital, his fate uncertain, and he may not be able to appear in court.”

Che Huan frowned and looked towards Gu Yunping.

Gu Yunping attempted to calm his fluctuating emotions, ”Today I came to ask you to go talk to him. Maybe he will wake up sooner. Once he’s awake, I’ll persuade him to proceed with the divorce.”

What kind of game is Gu Jizhou playing now?

Che Huan’s hand clenched the nightgown tightly, ”Uncle Gu, he hates me so much, I’m afraid my presence might backfire, right?”
