Daddy Always Gets Jealous

Che Huan breathed a sigh of relief after hearing that.

Yet, the little fellow couldn’t help frowning with worry, ”Uncle Shen, are you sure it’s nothing serious? Why don’t you take my blood and give it to Huanhuan? I have a lot of blood.”

Shen Mubai didn’t expect Xiaowei to be so concerned about Che Huan, ”Huanhuan has mild anemia, it’s just that she hasn’t been resting well, so she looks a bit pale. She just needs to pay attention to resting normally.”

The little guy uttered an ”oh,” glanced back at Che Huan, remembered what Huanhuan had said, and then looked in Shen Mubai’s direction, ”Uncle Shen, the uncle living above Huanhuan is really annoying; he snores loudly, and she can’t sleep well at night. Do you have any solutions?”

”...” Shen Mubai smiled and made a call to the nurse, ”Bring some medical earplugs to my office.”

Soon, the nurse came with the medical earplugs.

The little one left contentedly with Che Huan.

Shen Mubai saw the two of them off into the car and watched them leave. He glanced at his phone, which was still on the line, anticipating that Huo brother had heard the entire conversation, and put it to his ear, ”Huo brother, Xiaowei just brought a girl named Che Huan for a check-up at my place.”

Huo Jinnan heard the implication in his words, ”What about it?”

Shen Mubai paused for a moment, ”This girl has RH negative O type blood and beta-thalassemia.”

Huo Jinnan extinguished the cigarette between his fingers, his voice deep and rich like a cello, ”Understood.”

Just these three words?

Shen Mubai thought of the recent DNA test. Although nothing was conclusive, all the traits were Xiaowei’s, and he recognized it at a glance when the results came out!

The other person likely was Gu Yunqing, but more importantly, the results—there was no blood relation between the two of them!

After a long silence without Shen Mubai’s voice, Huo Jinnan spoke calmly, ”Keep this matter confidential.”

”Understood, Huo brother.”

After hanging up, Shen Mubai looked in the direction where the Rolls-Royce had departed for a long time before finally withdrawing his gaze and making a call home, ”Dad, what does the girl you introduced to me do for a living?”

—”She’s the niece of an old friend of mine. Remember to meet her on time this weekend.”

An old friend?

As Shen Mubai made his way back to the hospital, he asked, ”Is her name Che Huan?”

—”Yes, she’s a nurse at the Army Hospital. I’ve seen her photo, a very nice girl. Her uncle mentioned she had a failed marriage, which is just like you since you’re also divorced. She’s a nurse, and you’re a doctor; I think it’s a good match...”

”Okay, I got it.”

...

Saturday

Wen Nuan heard that her father had introduced a suitor to Che Huan, a professional doctor and head of a private hospital, and insisted on vetting the man for Che Huan.

With the divorce not yet finalized, Che Huan originally didn’t want to go, but didn’t want to dismiss her uncle’s kindness and pulled Wen Nuan to join her.

Wen Hua drove, taking the two cousins to the destination.

Upon arriving at the reserved private room and seeing Shen Mubai, Che Huan was stunned!

”Doctor Shen!”

Shen Mubai stood up to shake hands with Che Huan, smiling like the warmth of spring, then turned to Wen Nuan, ”And who might this be?”

She hadn’t expected at all that the man her uncle had set her up with was Doctor Shen, whom she had just met a few days ago!

Che Huan introduced Wen Nuan, pulling her over, ”This is my cousin, Wen Nuan.”

Shen Mubai greeted Wen Nuan with impeccable politeness, ”Miss Wen Nuan, a pleasure.”

Wen Nuan smiled sweetly, ”Nice to meet you, Doctor Shen.”

Che Huan sat there, recalling that the little guy knew Shen Mubai, calling him Uncle Shen, which meant he must be familiar with Huo Jinnan, making her feel awkward, ”Doctor Shen, I really didn’t expect that the person my uncle introduced would be you.”

Shen Mubai smiled placidly, ”Likewise, I didn’t expect it to be Miss Che either.”

Che Huan pushed her bangs aside, unsure of how to say they were unsuitable for each other and lost in thought, when suddenly she heard a familiar voice!
