Daddy Always Gets Jealous

Huo Jinnan glanced at Qin Shaojin, ”What do you want to ask?”

Qin Shaojin picked up the stemmed glass, his long fingers caressing the slender waist of the cup, smiling bewitchingly, ”Recognized at first sight upon our reunion, or...”

He directly omitted the rest of his sentence, smiling ambiguously.

Huo Jinnan’s eyes deepened, looking down at the regiment commander, if not for his unusual reaction that day, rushing to the Gu Family, he wouldn’t have thought it was Che Huan.

Seeing that Huo was not planning to answer, Qin Shaojin took a sip of the red wine, his fingertip caressing the glass lightly laughing, so it seemed it was the latter situation.

He didn’t continue on this topic, ”Huo, let’s have a toast.”

Huo Jinnan’s slender fingers pinched the stem of the glass, and he gently clinked it with Qin Shaojin, took a sip of the red wine and set it aside.

Qin Shaojin looked at Huo Jinnan, his expression becoming a bit more serious, ”Are you really just letting Gu Jizhou join the army? With this transfer to military status, the case will be harder to deal with.”

Huo Jinnan swept a glance at Qin Shaojin, ”Your preparation is just so.”

So, this matter had other mysteries?

Qin Shaojin’s fingers leisurely caressed the stem of the glass, ”I got it, Huo.”

.....................

In the evening, Huo Jinnan returned to Nanyuan Villa and saw Gu Yunping waiting at the door. He swept over him indifferently, ”Brother-in-law, what brings you here?”

There wasn’t the slightest peep from the old master, and Yunqing had been inside for nearly half a month now.

What else could be done? He dared not rashly seek the old master’s help, so he could only swallow his pride and find Huo Jinnan. Perhaps it would be easier if he asked the old master.

Gu Yunping looked towards Huo Jinnan, hesitantly speaking, ”Jinnan, I didn’t know before, that day...”

”It’s all in the past.”

Huo Jinnan spoke indifferently, not wishing to continue.

Gu Yunping was a clever man and quickly understood, ”I came to see you today about Yunqing.”

Huo Jinnan lit a cigarette and took a drag, ”I won’t marry her.”

”Jinnan, you misunderstand, that’s not why I sought you out.” Gu Yunping thought of Che Huan and Gu Jizhou’s marriage, which had been kept secret from the Huo Family because of Huo Jinyun, and for a moment, he didn’t know how to broach the subject.

Huo Jinnan stood quietly, awaiting his next words.

Gu Yunping glanced at Huo Jinnan, feeling somewhat alarmed inside. Jizhou, his nephew, was only three years his junior, yet he carried a maturity and steadiness far beyond his years, ”Jinnan, Jizhou has a...”

As the words reached his lips, Gu Yunping’s face showed distress, again at a loss for words.

”Wife? He’s mentioned her to me,” Huo Jinnan said, flicking away some ash, his voice resonating with a low magnetism.

Relieved at this information, Gu Yunping exhaled, ”Because of that girl, Yunqing did something foolish and ended up in the station. Could you possibly pull some strings to get her out? I’ll talk some sense into Yunqing, arrange for her to go on some blind dates and get married off early.”

Huo Jinnan twirled the cigarette between his fingers, lifting his gaze to Gu Yunping, ”Wouldn’t this be better resolved if my sister stepped in?”

Gu Yunping shook his head, ”It seems that girl has someone backing her; your sister called Director Zhang, but no one answered.”

Huo Jinnan expressed his regret, ”I’m even less acquainted with Director Zhang, I’m powerless to help my brother-in-law.”

Gu Yunping knew Huo Jinnan had been leading a leisurely life since retiring from the military and didn’t expect him to handle Director Zhang, ”Jinnan, the old master has been quite concerned about Jizhou’s matters, and your sister can’t broach this topic again. Look, could you maybe bring it up with the old master?”
