Daddy Always Gets Jealous

Huanhuan’s hand was soft and tender, what if Uncle Shen Mubai shook it, liked Huanhuan, and then what?

Shen Mubai looked down at the little guy, smiled, withdrew his hand, and his gaze landed on Che Huan.

His father was going to introduce him to a girl, also named Che Huan, he wondered if it was the same Che Huan.

Shen Mubai took another look at the girl who was pleasing to the eye, ”Miss Che, please take a seat.”

Che Huan sat there, thinking about how she had been feeling sleepy lately, always feeling very tired, ”Recently, I’ve been having trouble sleeping at night and haven’t been feeling great during the day.”

Shen Mubai looked at Che Huan’s poor complexion, but couldn’t discern anything from just a couple of sentences, ”Is there anything else that’s bothering you?”

Che Huan shook her head.

After Shen Mubai asked for a while and couldn’t find out anything, noticing her poor complexion, he asked, ”Have you had a health check-up recently?”

”No,” Che Huan thought about how she hadn’t had a health check-up for several years and gently shook her head.

Shen Mubai gave a warm and gentle smile, ”How about this, you can get a check-up.”

While Che Huan was getting her check-up, the little one had nothing to do and sat waiting next to her, secretly took Che Huan’s phone, and couldn’t help but take a second glance — how ugly. Huanhuan’s previous phone was pretty nice. Why had it been changed again?

After looking for a while, he browsed through the contacts list but didn’t find Gu Jizhou’s name; however, he saw Gu Jizhou’s mobile number in the missed calls. After thinking for a moment, he tapped it the way his uncle had taught him at school last time, a pop-up appeared reading ”Activate harassment block,” confirming he could block incoming calls and messages, and he lightly pressed confirm.

After setting it up, he pursed his lips, thinking of Huo Jinnan.

For his and his mother’s happiness, he opened the dialer, dialed Huo Jinnan’s mobile number, didn’t wait for it to connect, quickly hung up, then promptly added it to the harassment block list and quietly placed the phone back in Che Huan’s bag.

Huo Jinnan was busy, saw the call, and called back only to receive the message that the number he dialed was busy.

He looked up at Huo Bei, ”Check this number.”

Huo Bei complied and quickly went to check.

An hour later, back in the study, ”Sir, it seems to be Miss Che’s new number.”

A new number?

Huo Jinnan looked pensively for a moment and saved the number, ”Is Huo Minhan with Che Huan right now?”

Huo Bei spoke softly, ”Yes, the young master took Miss Che to Doctor Shen’s place.”

Huo Jinnan hummed in acknowledgement, then called Shen Mubai, ”Is Huo Minhan with you?”

Shen Mubai was looking at Che Huan’s check-up report when he saw it was Brother Huo calling, so he answered the phone.

As soon as Huo Jinnan spoke, he heard the little guy’s excited voice—

”Huanhuan, we have the same blood type, oh!”

Che Huan glanced at the report and pinched the little one’s cheek, ”Is that so? You’re type O as well?”

”Yeah,” said the little guy, his eyes locked on the paper, no longer able to make anything else out, ”Uncle Shen, please check it quickly.”

Shen Mubai had just glanced at the report and hadn’t gotten the chance to reply when he looked up in astonishment at Che Huan and the little one.

Both were β-thalassemia minor! They even had the same blood type, and the incidence of β-thalassemia minor in China is only 0.67%, too coincidental, right?

Che Huan, seeing his expression, couldn’t help but frown, ”Doctor Shen, is there an issue?”

Shen Mubai came back to his senses, uttered, ”Oh,” and said, ”Nothing serious, just a bit anemic, β-thalassemia minor, mild anemia, you’re carriers of the genetic trait for thalassemia, which means there’s only a minor issue with hemoglobin production, generally without clinical symptoms, your health is normal, no need to worry.”
