Beneath the Red Dragon

The former young master of the Centaur Tribe, Suniya, said indifferently, ”Dragons are powerful, but they were driven to the wilderness of the world because there are too many of you such dragons.”

Naloya’s fair face instantly turned red with anger as she rebuked, ”So should the crimes committed by that Red Dragon be endured by other innocent beings? If your family had been killed by that Red Dragon, would you still have such thoughts?”

The Centaur Knight Suniya shook his head, ”You don’t have to stand on the moral high ground to accuse me. I know that the mistakes made by some dragons indeed bring many disasters and pains,”

”That’s why the Holy Gogomola Emperor wants to reverse the destructive nature and uncontrollable desires brought by the innate evil blood of the dragons. This is an act that benefits the entire Giant Dragon Race, and even the whole world. You should follow it!”

After Suniya finished speaking, he did not continue to argue with this disguised dragon but walked towards the Judicial Court instead.

Holy Knight Elis said nothing, and the female Golden Dragon Naloya had no choice but to follow, so as not to get lost in the myriad of intricate paths within the Judicial Court.

The majority of knights and officials coming and going in the Judicial Court were members of the Centaur tribe, which was due to the personal preferences of the court’s head, Black Dragon Rosani.

Even Nora, the girl who was once known for raising horses, was promoted to the captain of the Judicial Court Knights by this Black Dragon, which clearly showed his preferences.

On the Island Realm established by the Ancestral Golden Dragon Erikson, there were also tens of thousands of centaur tribes. However, compared to the female Golden Dragon Naloya, the centaurs on the Island Realm always seemed much weaker than their kin in the distant North.

Not only in terms of physical stature but also in terms of the spirit and energy sensed internally.

However, the vastness inside the Judicial Court surprised female Golden Dragon Naloya. According to the estimation from the courtroom hall that Centaur Knight Suniya led her through, it covered an area of several acres.

Even if Naloya walked here in her true dragon form, she wouldn’t feel the slightest bit of narrowness or constraint.

The towering, adjoining bookshelves lined against the walls of the Judicial Court hall housed thousands of hard-bound books on every shelf, containing not only the specific laws and extended regulations of the Golden Empire across various sectors but also legal research materials from other civilized realms and related legal knowledge from other world planes.

These massive bookshelves, visually, soared straight to the courthouse’s arched ceilings, standing at a height of 120 meters.

Some elves and kobolds stood atop tall wooden ladders, organizing the intricate books on the shelves while transcribing and extracting the knowledge needed by Judicial Court officials.

Female Golden Dragon Naloya even saw a few heavy books, as thick as the combined arms of two people, with covers inscribed in scripts even a Golden Dragon couldn’t recognize. To Naloya, they appeared to be artifacts unearthed from an ancient era.

Under the lead of Centaur Knight Suniya, Elis and Naloya traversed through corridors, floors, and rooms stretching miles long, through labyrinth-like architectures, until they finally reached their destination.

”Both of you, His Majesty Rosani awaits you inside,” Centaur Knight Suniya extended his hand in a gesturing motion to enter, then whispered, ”However, whatever purpose you may have, Dragon Sir, you must not get into a dispute with His Majesty Rosani here.”

”This is the ultimate repository of the Imperial Code, and also the final law ground of the Empire. The Holy Gogomola Emperor’s knowledge about law is also stored here. Any kind of destruction here, you wouldn’t want to witness that scene.”

Naloya involuntarily nodded, as the solemn atmosphere in the Judicial Court, surprisingly, could easily affect the psyche of a Golden Dragon.

The massive sandalwood doors were gently pushed open, their operation nearly silent due to the deep-sea whale oil mixed with magic spice maintaining them, despite the enormous doors being as tall as dozens of people.

An extremely pleasant aroma permeated the nostrils of Holy Knight Elis and Golden Dragon Naloya, a scent from books combined with the smell of sandalwood bookshelves, mingled with the breath of vibrant life force.

Even though the vast interior was illuminated by long skylights and crescent-like moonlight lamps, the space still appeared somewhat dim.

The shadows cast by the towering bookshelves often obscured some of the light.

On the thick carpet, a massive Black Dragon squatted with its back to the two individuals, its thick dragon tail casually slapped the thick carpet, making only a soft sound.

It seemed this Black Dragon was studying some knowledge.

Female Golden Dragon Naloya couldn’t help but take a deep breath, as the mere silhouette of the King of Black Scales from the Golden Empire could impose an unseen formidable pressure upon this adult Golden Dragon.

It wasn’t derived from Dragon Power, but rather akin to some kind of suppression in bloodline status.

”Unbelievable,” Naloya shouted silently in her mind, if facing merely one of the Dragon Kings from the Gogomola Dragon Group could impose such powerful pressure, then what about the strongest Dragon Emperor within the Gogomola Dragon Group?

An inexplicable sense of dissatisfaction and hostility arose within female Golden Dragon Naloya’s heart.

Hearing the nearly silent footsteps of the two individuals, the sharp, long horns behind the head of Black Dragon Rosani lightly swayed as he slowly turned his head to gaze at the newcomers.

”Roar,”

At the sight of Black Dragon Rosani, a phantasm-like illusion seemed to suddenly rise before female Golden Dragon Naloya’s eyes.

She heard the mournful roars of dragons echoing in her ears, saw countless enormous Dragons falling into the jaws of this Black Dragon, chewed, swallowed, turning into food within its belly.

A sense of fear, birthed from the Dragon species bloodline and sensed by Golden Dragon Naloya’s own Dragon Blood, made this Golden Dragon suddenly shiver all over.

She felt as if, when faced with this Black Dragon, she was akin to a rabbit before an eagle, an innate connection of predation and restraint.

Naloya hurriedly blinked, finally regaining her senses to clearly see the true face of the King of Black Scales.

A massive, exquisite tortoise-shell frame perched on the eyes of this Black Dragon, with golden threads entwined around its dragon horns, suspending this large frame, lending a gentle aspect to the frighteningly face of the Black Dragon.

It seemed that the scene she witnessed was merely Naloya’s illusion.

Black Dragon Rosani turned around, its robust body appeared mightier than an adult Golden Dragon.

”Do not fear, nor should you harbor hostility or an exploratory intent towards me, stranger dragon,” Black Dragon Rosani raised his head, looking down upon the two little figures before him.

”That way, you will avoid being impacted!”

Female Golden Dragon Naloya was taken aback and couldn’t help but ask, ”What was that? I could feel a terrifying force.”

Thud, thud, thud

Black Dragon Rosani’s massive form strode upon the thick carpet, its black steel dragon claw lightly adjusted its glasses, and he spoke calmly, ”I don’t know either, but Karon said it’s called ’Dragon-eating Aspect’ or ’Devouring Dragon Aspect’!”

”If you hold no hostility towards me, then I shall not affect you, for the Gogomola Dragon Group never employs forces beyond their control.”

”But if you hold hostility towards us, then all the Dragons under heaven, upon meeting, must regard us as superior by one tier!”
