Beneath the Red Dragon

”Let’s go, I can’t wait to see the realm established by the Honorable among the Metal Dragons. I hope it can give me a profound change of perspective.”

Silver Dragon Valkyrie Chris Tianna smiled at her two companions beside her and said, ”If it is as beautiful as declared, Silver Dragon Fluo’s hope that we can assist Ancestral Golden Dragon Erikson’s intentions is not entirely unfeasible.”

Thus, the three adult Metal Dragons began their journey into this newly established kingdom, traveling with their expectations.

But as they learned more day by day, the hopeful expressions of the three Metal Dragons gradually turned serious.

In the Island Realm, where mortals proliferated, there were also Elves and Giants, and traces of the Five-Color Dragon loyal to Ancestral Golden Dragon Erikson could be found.

The mixed races within, while not as numerous as those in the Golden Empire, could still be described as a diverse amalgamation.

Yet despite so many different races living together, there was good order. Though fights and brawls frequently occurred, cases of serious crimes like murder were rare.

This was because, in the realm of Ancestral Golden Dragon and the Ancient Titan’s Son, there existed many Paladin Legions.

Under the order maintained by these Paladins, ordinary mortals could live and work in peace, attracting many other orderly races to settle there.

But what surprised Silver Dragon Chris, Bronze Dragon Gross, and Natarili was that although this Golden Dragon’s kingdom followed laws similar to other human civilizations, it almost entirely relied on the subjective initiative of the Paladins to govern.

In the kingdom created by the Golden Dragon, the rigid subjectivity of the Paladins almost replaced the law, becoming its symbol.

The most prominent feature was the frequent public trials held in this realm, which Silver Dragon Chris Tianna once considered boring trials based on morality.

The law is the embodiment of the ruler’s will, but the Island Realm, with its numerous laws, never recognized this point, being entirely governed by man.

Even in the Golden Empire, the Gogomola Dragon Group, positioned above the law, would subtly modify the empire’s legal standards through their actions, reflecting the Gogomola Dragon Group’s intention for the direction of imperial rule.

Moreover, the three Metal Dragons believed that starting solely from stereotypical alignments was the most foolish thing; even Paladins couldn’t represent the law.

”Arrogance, or being completely lost in one’s own fantasy?” Silver Dragon Chris Tianna couldn’t help but frown.

Having experienced the trials in the Golden Empire, these Giant Dragons no longer acted purely on ideals but made decisions based on practical experience and investigation.

Yet in the Island Realm, the Metal Dragons saw no signs of civilized societal productivity development, only a teetering production relationship built on Ancestral Golden Dragon Erikson’s idealistic notion of fairness.

Bronze Dragon Natarili also frowned, ”No wonder Silver Dragon Fluo headed north to study in the Golden Empire, but in my opinion, this arrogant and self-conceited Golden Dragon is unlikely to change its mindset.”

”This so-called ideal kingdom is ultimately too naive a fantasy,” Bronze Dragon Gross looked blankly at the nobility hanged by Paladins at the dock and the enslaved Five-Color Dragons.

In the eyes of the three Metal Dragons, these nobles indeed deserved to die. But these nobles were sentenced to hanging without any trial or law court, only by the so-called judgments of these Paladins.

As for the enslaved Five-Color Dragons, there were beings similar to Dragon Witch Demons and Dragon Undead.

According to the Metal Dragons’ understanding, these Dragon Undead once served the Ancestral Golden Dragon Erikson, but after death, their souls were still controlled by the Ancestral Golden Dragon, not granting these Five-Color Dragon souls the peace they deserved.

It should be known that even in the Golden Empire ruled by the Five-Color Dragons, the two young White Dragons who perished in the Beastman War are now consecrated in the Holy Hall of the Dragon Group.

In the central square of each city in the Golden Empire, statues of the two young White Dragons are carved on the column of accolades, narrating the rare yet undeniable merits of these two White Dragons.

Upon witnessing these events, a unique aura was manifested in Bronze Dragon Gross, a reflection of a certain ideology.

”Not using the knowledge and clear ideas one possesses to reform the world, only wishful, barbaric conquest and suppression; such a civilization does not have the growth potential according to the empire’s evaluation standards and is garbage that needs to be cleaned up,” Bronze Dragon Gross said coldly.

”This garbage-like civilization should be swept clean, leaving the land and living space to more potential civilizations, promoting progress and development.”

Previously, when Bronze Dragon Gross saw the Five-Color Dragons defeated and enslaved by Metal Dragons, he thought it testified to the strength of the Metal Dragons. But now, this situation only made him feel harsh.

”If Lord Gogomola knew of this, Ancestral Golden Dragon Erikson wouldn’t fare well,” Bronze Dragon Natarili said with disdain.

”Too far, the Golden Empire is too far, and Gogomola is too far from here,” Adult Silver Dragon Chris said calmly, their once-expectant expressions now transformed into disgust.

She hoped that the civilization established by the Metal Dragons would give Karon Gogomola a recognized impression, but just by slightly interacting with this kingdom, without delving deeper, Chris understood that the Island Realm’s future would only be the target for the Ancestral Red Dragon’s purge.

While the Ancestral Red Dragon also enslaves Giant Dragons, the purpose is to reform the thoughts of these Dragons, using their intelligence and consolidating their power.

As for this Ancestral Golden Dragon, its behavior indicates that it merely treats these Dragons as tools, and crude ones at that, only as thugs, without realizing the true advantages of the Dragon race.

The other might have realized it, but under the desire for its power, it chose the simplest method—forcing slavery through power rather than pursuing a shared path with philosophy and wisdom.

”I’m not interested in assisting such a Dragon. I want to leave here and return to the Southern Continent, what about you?” Silver Dragon Chris asked her companions.

Through prolonged association and journeying together, the three Metal Dragons had already formed a companion-like relationship, perhaps each Giant Dragon emerging from the Golden Empire naturally connected in a similar way.

”Our journey together is soon reaching a fork in the road, Chris,” Adult Bronze Dragon Gross looked at his companion, ”No matter what Emperor Gogomola once told you, I have my goals and a mission to complete; you must be careful in the future, perhaps we may become ’enemies.’”

”I will choose to stay and try to guide this so-called ideal nation back to the right path,” Gross smiled. ”If I can’t guide this kingdom back to the right path, then let the ideas of the Golden Empire take root on this land; that’ll be my contribution to the empire’s future road!”

Silver Dragon Chris pondered the warning from the Adult Bronze Dragon, nodding, ”I understand, Gross, I hope you and Natarili will always be well.”

”Let’s go, we’ll see you off a bit further,” Female Bronze Dragon Natarili softly smiled, ”Gross and I will stay in the Islands, it’s at least a response to Silver Dragon Fluo’s request. Take care after you return to the Southern tribe, Chris.”

Silver Dragon Chris nodded, and the three Giant Dragons stepped out of the Islands. At the edge of the Island Realm, they avoided the kingdom’s wardens and transformed into their true dragon form, flying outwards.
