Chapter 2100: Taking Over a Faction from Inside (3)

Tang Shaoyang observed the whole thing from the side. The moment he mentioned the King was dead, the trio immediately made their move. They had a few minutes’ discussion, splitting the job at that moment. Then he summoned the spirits to follow them, not the big ones, of course.

Tang Shaoyang put himself a thousand meters in the air, observing everything from above. Osmund and Niko opposed Alger’s idea to spare the Royal Guard. Those were the elite army tasked with protecting the castle and the capital.

Alger at first wanted to spare the Royal Guard and persuaded them to join them, but Osmund and Niko opposed that idea. Their reasoning was sound; it was because the Royal Guard only listened to the King’s order. Not just that, they were picked after a rigorous selection. They only chose the ones loyal to them.

If they spared the Royal Guard, they might join them at first. However, that might change later, especially when there is no strong bond to them. They might try to put the King’s other sons on the throne and oppose the council that they tried to form.

Alger insisted on keeping the Royal Guard because of how essential and strong they were for the kingdom. The Royal Guard comprised the thirty percent strength of the Auriga Kingdom, with more than 700 God Ranks.

Tang Shaoyang had to step in and make the decision for them. He agreed with Osmund and Niko not to spare the Royal Guards. They would be a pain in the ass later on if that was how they were selected.

The next discussion was about the Royal Family. Tang Shaoyang wanted to kill them all, even the children. That was a hard decision, but he must do so to root out future trouble. He had made up his mind to kill them, but Alger, Niko, and Osmund came into a tacit agreement to spare them.

They insisted not to kill them. Of course, they could not stay in this kingdom anymore. They would be sent back to their original world, the whole family, including the servant. That included the in-laws and anyone who was related to the Royal Family.

Tang Shaoyang had to agree with that. That was a relief when the three ensured that they would not be able to return to the God Realm through the same gate, but they might return to the God Realm another way, but not here. He was relieved because he didn’t have to kill those innocent children.

The three immediately made their move after their little discussion. His spirits followed them closely, each having twenty spirits following them. They led the spirits to the influential people who were not needed in their reform. They didn’t have to dirty their hands as well because the spirits did the killing.

Of course, it included the Royal Guard that was stationed in the castle. It took them a lot of time to eliminate all the Royal Guards within the castle quietly. But that was worth it, and it was not like he was in a hurry. He spared a week or two to make sure no one could be a threat to his territory.

Everything went smoothly, and overnight, they killed all the Royal Guards in the castle, purging them from the capital. Of course, the nobles who remained in the capital were not spared either. They eliminated the corrupt nobles that were not needed in their reform and spared those who were willing to join their reformation.

That was when another assembly was held in the castle, but Alger, Niko, and Osmund led the assembly this time. Two Dukes, three Marquises, three Earls, and five Counts. That was still less than half of the nobles in the Auriga Kingdom, but they were the only ones who, fortunately, stayed in the capital.

The Queen joined them as well, with her eyes red, furious with what happened. She cursed loudly, pointing his finger at the trio commander, shrieking hysterically, slamming the table with his hand, which caused a crack in the table. She tried to rally the remaining nobles with her to oppose the three commanders.

Osmund was about to ask for help from the spirit to keep the Queen quiet, but Ouyang Biya acted first. She jabbed the Queen’s neck with her finger, and the Queen lost her voice immediately.

She was still screaming and pointing a finger, but this time Ouyang Biya was her target. Her mouth was moving, but there was no voice coming out.

Ouyang Biya then grabbed the Queen’s shoulder and put her on the seat and jabbed the Queen’s back this time. This time, the Queen completely stopped moving, but her eyes were moving around. People could see that the Queen was still alive by her eyes’ frantic movement.

That was when Alger announced his reformation. The Royal Family and their in-laws would be sent back to Bolarg. That was the name of their world.

Those who didn’t agree with the reformation also would be sent back to Bolarg with the Royal Family. Alger, Osmund, and Niko truly did their best to avoid a bloodbath. They truly loved the kingdom they had served, after all.

”Why? Why did you betray us?” One of the dukes questioned the trio.

None on the table truly expected the three commanders to betray the Auriga Kingdom until now. While not many favored the three commanders, they knew these three were loyal to the kingdom. The last thing they expected from them was a betrayal.

”Is it because the King decided to execute you?” One of the Marquises chimed in. That was the only plausible reason for their betrayal.

”No. I have accepted my death until I heard you all had come to a decision to attack the Tang Empire, again. Even after my army was wiped out, you try to attack them again. He came to me and offered me a proposal that would save the people of this kingdom.”

Alger gestured toward the sixty spirits that surrounded them in the room, ”I didn’t kill a single person. They all killed the Royal Guards, the King, and the other nobles who we deem will be a problem to the reformation. Can’t you understand the situation?”

”It’s because you help them!” One of the Counts raised his voice, pointing his finger accusingly at Alger, ”Without your help—”

Alger cut him off before the Count finished his words, ”Without my help, we will not be here to hold this meeting. You would be dead, I would be dead, all of us would be dead. Didn’t you understand our situation? Didn’t you understand why I made such a choice?”

”Sir Tang Shaoyang managed to sneak into the core of our territory without anyone noticing him. Do you believe you all will be fine if not for his generosity? He will have his people kill all the guards and nobles, leaving the city in chaos. Then what? Then the kingdom will fall on its own without him doing anything!”

That was the fact that people could not accept. The fact that a single person easily took down the kingdom that they had built for years. It took them a lot of effort to set up and establish themselves in the God Realm, but a single person destroyed it overnight.

People could not accept how fragile their kingdom was. They might not be the top dogs in the God Realm, but they considered themselves an established kingdom that would not easily fall. That was until they met an Executive Administrator.

The worst was the fact that they attacked first, which gave the Executive Administrator a justification to attack them. There was nothing they could do. They could not even complain about how an Executive Administrator bullied them.

”I understand!” The two Dukes accepted their new reality, ”Let’s say we support you, but you know a lot of houses outside the capital are supporting the Royal Family. The Queen should have told them how the capital was taken over by now. A lot of reinforcements will flood the teleportation gate. How are you going to handle them?”

In Alger’s eyes, it didn’t matter how much reinforcement came to the capital; there was nothing they could do against these monsters. They had seen how Tang Shaoyang’s people handled the Royal Guard. Before he could answer that question, one of the spirits spoke first.

Mathias the Hurakan Legion Commander VI stepped up and answered it for the Duke, ”You don’t need to worry about the teleportation. We have disabled it. No one could use it anymore. If they want to come to the capital, then they must come through the closest city.”

Gianni, the Hurakan Legion Commander II, also took a step forward, ”You don’t have to worry about what will come to the capital. You are here to make a decision whether you are going to join the reform or go back to your world! Make the decision and just watch... And prepare the force under you to invade the Crazules Kingdom!”

It brought a shock to everyone at the table when the Crazules Kingdom was mentioned. They didn’t expect that the Tang Empire was making a move against the Crazules Kingdom while they were here, taking over the Auriga Kingdom.

”Our forces have taken down five cities of the army. We might be able to take them down within three to four days. You’d better prepare your army for that day. You and the Ridian Kingdom will absorb the leaderless Crazules Kingdom.”

Everyone looked at Alger to seek confirmation, and Alger confirmed it with a nod. Niko had confirmed that the Crazules Kingdom’s capital was in a mess because they lost contact with several cities. That was why Alger easily confirmed the information.

At this point, the nobles realized that they didn’t really have any choice in the matter. All the nobles accepted and joined the reform. The two Dukes would join the council, and the remaining nobles would pick two representatives to join the council to represent them.

Just like that, the Auriga Kingdom was no more as it fell under the Tang Empire’s order.
