Chapter 2083: Picking the Wrong Enemy

Tang Shaoyang was a little bit surprised by what he saw the moment he switched places with his spirit. He did expect a scenario like this to happen, a small chance for it to happen. A little surprise, still within his guess.

’I guess these people truly underestimate me that much for them to fight among themselves.’

[Why do you care about these fools? Once the news about you destroying the Shadow Star spread, no one will underestimate you ever again.] Zara tried to console Tang Shaoyang.

’Now you said it. I kinda regret attacking the Shadow Star. I want people to keep underestimating. I guess I don’t need to stay reserved anymore and make this quick.’

Tang Shaoyang summoned Avyn, Karan, Mathias, Afi, Galeon, and Bronson. Then he summoned five members of the Skelly Family: Kaiser, Skelly2, Skelly3, Skelly4, and Skelly6.

The spirits and the skeleton decided that they would hold a competition for the most God Ranks killed. That was decided between themselves before leaving Allavaine.

The spirits chose those five as their representatives. From the Skelly Family, Kaiser was the one who made the decision. Skelly2 was Magic Swordsmaster, Skelly3 was Abyssal Archmage, Skelly4 was Abyssal Destroyer, and Skelly6 was Abyssal Slaughterer.

Skelly4 had a massive mace in his right hand and a massive hammer in his left hand. Skelly6 had two curved broadswords made of bones. These two were the true definition of berserker. Maybe that was the reason why Kaiser picked them with Skelly3 as their backline support.

”How? How do you get here!?” Chief Avourel raised his voice, questioning Tang Shaoyang.

He and the Elders were confused as to why Tang Shaoyang could get into their territory. Tang Shaoyang needed to use their private teleportation to get to this place. He was not supposed to use their teleportation without the Daenelis Clan’s permission.

”I guess I don’t mind telling you how,” Tang Shaoyang flicked his finger.

Right after he flicked his finger, Artras came out from Avourel’s shadow, leaping toward the Elder next to him. The Elder’s scream rang for a moment before stopping abruptly. That shocked the Daenelis Clan’s Elder and Chief. They abruptly turned toward the voice and saw a headless body with a shadow creature in the shape of a wolf.

Before they could proceed, the shadow creature brought the headless body into the shadow. That sent a panic until they saw the same shadow creature appear next to Tang Shaoyang.

Tang Shaoyang stored the dead body, and then he used the Spirit Switch, switching places with Artras, ”That should answer your question, no?”

Chief Avourel immediately connected the dots. Tang Shaoyang put that shadow creature in him after Oriphine was killed. Even before the three Executive Administrators could interfere, Tang Shaoyang had already prepared this, in case he escaped from the Starter City.

”Call the Serpent Star right away and call the rest of our people as well! We are under attack!”

Avourel knew it was pointless to think about this further. The most important thing was that Tang Shaoyang was in front of them, and they must fight if they wanted to survive. The worst part was that the Serpent Star’s people were not here yet, and half of their force backed down from fighting Khaya. But their opponent was no longer Khaya this time. They must join the fight if they want the Daenelis Clan to survive.

”As usual, leave the leader alive and kill the rest, and one more. I will participate in this silly competition as well.”

As Tang Shaoyang announced his participation, his whole body plunged into his own shadow and disappeared. His announcement caught the spirits and the Skelly Family off guard.

Screams resounded as they looked up at the Daenelis Clan’s crowd. Five God Ranks were pulled into shadow as their screams abruptly cut off.

Karan didn’t want to lose, as he threw his axes as the fight broke out.

Chief Avourel was looking around in panic, holding his swords tighter. He was ready to fight, but that was when he realized that he was totally being ignored. The red-skinned monster was after the Elders. The same with the demons, the knight, and the bear-folk.

He wanted to help, but he didn’t know who to help. It wasn’t until he heard his son’s plea.

”Help me, Father!”

Avourel snapped toward the voice and found the giant skeleton with a curved broadsword in front of Arsus. Arsus was blocked by two massive swords with his own, but he was clearly losing ground slowly.

There was no hesitation in his decision as he tried to rush toward his son, but then the skeleton with the dragon-kin’s frame appeared in front of him. Its tail shot toward his head, and he quickly raised his sword.

Clank!

He stopped the tail from making a hole in his head. At the same time, he was sent flying backward. He was spinning for a while in the air before landing on the ground.

Avourel was not going to stay still and was about to charge again to help his son until he felt a fierce tremor from the ground, right below his feet. Before he could find out what it was, he was launched into the air as the ground shot up.

That move didn’t really do anything to him, just sending him to the air. He was spinning once more in the air. By the time he stabilized himself in the air, he was hit by a blast of wind. His body crashed to the ground.

Again, the attack hit him, but that was nothing. It didn’t even hurt him, merely pushing him away further from his son. That disoriented him for a moment as he immediately got back on his feet. The first thing he did was to locate his son.

He quickly located where his son was, still fighting the massive skeleton with the curved broadsword. Arsus was losing his ground, getting pushed back without being able to fight back.

Avourel activated his movement skill, wanting to get to where his son was, bailing his son out. That was when he found out that he could not move his body. Right after that, he felt cold, deeper down to his own bones.

He looked down at his body and found out that from the neck down to his feet, his body was frozen, covered in ice. Shocked? No, he was beyond shocked because he could not feel when his body was frozen. Was it when he was right back on his feet and still disoriented, or was his body frozen just now?

”I don’t really like doing this, but you have angered the wrong person,” A melodious voice entered his ear. That was when he found a lady in a blue-ashes dress, standing next to him while shaking her head.

Avourel was not going to stay still and tried to activate his skill, trying to break free from this ice. That was when he realized something horrifying: he could not feel his body or his energy. He tried to circulate his energy, to break the ice, but he could not sense them. It was as if he lost his energy.

He tried to move his body, but it should not be hard for someone with his attributes to destroy the ice from the inside. However, he also could not feel his own body. He was breathing fine, but aside from that, he could not feel anything. This was terrifying because he immediately realized that he was no longer feeling cold.

”What did you do!?” He bellowed at the woman.

”Keeping you alive and to ensure that you witness your clan’s downfall,” Avyn shook her head that the snow elf had not realized his situation.

”As I said, you have angered the wrong person. You should stay still in this remote palace instead of getting involved with the big shots.”

Avourel struggled, but he could not even struggle when he could not feel his own body. No matter what he did, he was completely paralyzed from the neck down to his feet. He could only move his head, eyes, and tongue. In this situation, he could only watch the battle from the sidelines.

It was eleven against thirty-five God Ranks from the Daenelis Clan. They were not just ordinary God Ranks, but an elite force. With Khaya and three other Administrators, including his son, they managed to find more classes and skills that fit their people.

They were an elite force in this world, the reason why the Daenelis Clan survived until now, even without an ally. However, the pressure kept growing recently as several clans formed alliances just to stop the Daenelis Clan from getting stronger. That was the reason why Khaya wanted them to join the Tang Empire. The reason why Avourel took the risk to side with the God Order.

Even though the God Order was isolated by the System after meddling with the trial. The God Order had a big influence that even top powerhouses would not be able to ignore. The Daenelis Clan’s enemies would not dare to touch them if they knew the Daenelis Clan was under the God Order’s umbrella. That was his plan until everything went south.

”Run! Arsus Run! Get more reinforcement from the city!”

Avourel screamed, but it was useless, a futile attempt because his son could not hear him. His son was too focused on his enemy in front of him. No matter how hard he screamed, his son would not be able to hear him.

That was until he witnessed how his son’s body was split into two by that curved broadsword. In that moment, his son finally spotted him as well. His son’s last moment was terrifying, in fear and desperation, and he had to witness his son’s last moment.
