Chapter 2089: One Choice, One Path

”What are you going to do tomorrow?” Zhang Mengyao didn’t expect such an answer. She furrowed her brow, thinking about whether they were in any conflict.

No factions dared to touch the Tang Empire on Earth. They had learned their lesson after the United Sovereign attempted to fight them with the help of an outsider from the Dimensional Tower. They had seen how Tang Shaoyang handled the God Ranks, and no one was stupid enough to look for trouble against the Tang Empire right now.

The conflict inside the Dimensional Tower was nothing that serious. It was just the other factions trying to steal their resource point, but that was it. The conflict never escalated into a big fight.

Zhang Mengyao didn’t try to resolve the issue from above as well because those small-scale fights helped the Tarrior to grow, constantly fighting to gain actual combat experience.

They were not really in a conflict that was big enough to escalate to a battle to show her the battle between the God Ranks. This made her worried that Tang Shaoyang might be looking for trouble.

”We will open our territory in the God Realm. There are three factions that set up a camp outside our territory in the God Realm, which were ready to attack us the moment the protection was wearing off. I am going to fight them, and you and others will watch from a safe distance.”

Tang Shaoyang was, of course, not going to cause trouble for no reason. Those three factions had been waiting there for quite some time, and it was time to get rid of them before he left for the Sacred Realm.

He didn’t remember the exact time until the protection expired, but it should be in a few months, maybe three or two months left until it expires. He didn’t know how long he would stay in the Sacred Realm. It might be quick, or maybe it might take a few months.

”Can we talk it out with them?” Zhang Mengyao was relieved a little bit, but then she liked a peaceful approach if it was possible. Even if she wanted to see the battle between the God Ranks, she preferred not to create unnecessary conflict just for her curiosity.

”Do you think they want to talk with us when they bring an army into our front door?” Tang Shaoyang had predicted that the battle was inevitable. If those three factions wanted to make a peaceful approach, they would come and propose a meeting instead of bringing their army.

”The fact that they are not fighting each other means they must have come into an agreement to attack us together. They are in cahoots.”

”In another scenario, let’s say, they are willing to talk with us. Do you think we can end the talk without taking a loss? They would think that we are afraid of them, and they would request something outrageous from us.”

Zhang Mengyao could not refute Tang Shaoyang. That was what most likely happened if they agreed to a talk and resolved this peacefully. Those three factions would ask for something that was not easy to fulfill.

”I have to agree with Shaoyang this time, Sis Mengyao. They are not going to back down easily when they have been waiting for months already,” Kang Xue finally joined the conversation.

”And this might actually be the best time to open our territory. I can catch them off guard and finish one of the factions quickly.”

Zhang Mengyao and Kang Xue snapped toward him when they heard his claim. That sounded outrageous, even if it was coming from their husband. They knew Tang Shaoyang was strong, but finished an army by himself quickly? That sounded unreal, hard to believe.

”I told you. I will show you what kind of battle I have been through. Those three factions might not even be on the same level as the enemy I have been fighting, but they are good enough to be an example for you to see. I will show you why I can’t bring my own army to my battle.”

Zhang Mengyao could not really say anything about that. She was aware that she could no longer be convinced with words. She must see it herself to ease her frustration.

”Alright, but not tomorrow. What about in three days? I can recall most of our people to see what kind of battle you have gone through. That will work as a motivation for them as well.”

She had prepared a lot of things in her head, but ended up not saying it. With the way her husband looked, she didn’t want to push this matter further. Her husband was also affected by the matter. The way he looked at their daughters also troubled her.

Tang Shaoyang rarely made that kind of expression, and it seemed this incident truly got to him. However, she had to disagree whether he must go to the battle tomorrow. Their daughters truly needed him on their side, so he must stay on their side for now.

”I would say a week, but three days is also fine. Xiulan, Yue, and Jiaying really need you right now,” Kang Xue immediately added when she noticed that Tang Shaoyang was about to argue back.

She understood why her husband wanted to do it tomorrow. He was looking for an outlet to vent his anger that had not yet subsided. Those three factions would be his target. However, that might not be a good thing for Tang Shaoyang. On top of that, the three little girls truly needed him right now.’

Yesterday was the first time she witnessed how hysterical the three little girls were. The moment they realized that their father was not around, they cried. That was when she realized that Tang Shaoyang’s presence gave them a sense of security.

”Alright then... Three days...” Tang Shaoyang relented.

He needed something to vent out his anger, and he chose those three factions. But he was convinced to delay it to three days the moment Kang Xue mentioned their daughters.

They had a little chat, and Zhang Mengyao gave an update about the Cladeos Emporium’s proposal. They had drafted the big outline of how the cooperation would work, but they would need to talk it out in person before they came to an agreement.

The chat continued for another half an hour. Tang Shaoyang finished his coffee and his bread at that time. He stood up and kissed her wives’ foreheads.

”I think I need some time alone....”

Zhang Mengyao and Kang Xue nodded, watching him leave the room. There was no need to guess where Tang Shaoyang was going. He was going back to his daughter’s bedroom.

Tang Shaoyang returned to his daughter’s bedroom and stood next to their bed the entire night, watching his daughter sleep.

A lot was going through his head as he watched them sleeping. From what he could do to prevent a similar situation, to what he should do to prevent his family from being targeted.

There was one absolute answer to that. It was to become strong enough that no one dared to think of fighting or attacking him and his faction, let alone his family. The perfect example was the Ancient Kingdom and the Hurakan Kingdom. Both kingdoms were in a peaceful state where no factions dared to touch them.

Of course, there was another solution. It was to create or form an alliance with strong factions. Becoming something like the Ten Stars Accord, or maybe stronger than them, because the Ten Stars Accord seemed to be fragile with how easily he destroyed the Shadow Star’s main base. The alliance didn’t even send a reinforcement to help the Shadow Star.

But he disliked this idea because an alliance was fragile. There was a chance that the other factions might stab him in the back and become his doom later on if they were presented with such a chance.

”It seems I only have one choice, huh...” He muttered in a low voice.
