Armed Train in the Apocalypse

Number 1 is required to process chaos data every day, involving various stages of train modifications, ongoing projects in various labs, and preliminary planning of future projects based on materials, etc.

Computers can only handle logical calculations, whereas things like flesh and blood machinery that have no theoretical foundation rely solely on the perceptual thinking of the human brain.

Through this, Number 1 acquired a massive amount of data, with the entire armed train defenseless before him.

Initially, Director Xu considered limiting this, but later Su Huan told him not to waste his energy, just treat Number 1 as an AI.

Even if all the information gets transmitted out, so what?

Who will receive it?

The newly appointed Black Kite is his personal secretary, close to him both in flesh and spirit.

After all the maneuvering, it’s still within the family, completely unnecessary to guard against.

As for other powers, they are even less likely to receive it, they can’t wait to stay as far away from the train conductor as possible; who would be so reckless to take over this hot potato?

Last time Deep Blue Data managed to escape, it was because Su Huan couldn’t be bothered to chase; it doesn’t mean Deep Blue Data is qualified to confront the train conductor directly.

If they truly had such ability, they wouldn’t have run away.

When strength crushes everything, they obey the rules more than anyone else, precisely because they fear the train conductor breaking the rules.

Having acquired Number 1’s body size, Yu Jing quickly flipped to the information on this material.

The annotation on it only contained a short sentence: ”Capable of carrying souls,” which attracted all her attention.

Glancing at the inventory, there are over a hundred pieces left; she was about to purchase them all when she discovered the points required were quite substantial, each costing 200 points, more expensive than most Tier Two materials, each worth nearly half a set of [Scavengers-3] exoskeleton.

She’s the chief conductor of responsibility, with a monthly basic salary of 150 points, plus laboratory subsidies, reaching up to 200; canned luncheon meat costs 2 points for a 340g tin, equating to about twelve thousand pre-apocalypse buying power.

Not little but definitely not affluent either.

Recently, private experiments have consumed a large amount, leaving her with hardly any points.

The laboratory subsidy points cannot be used; she must find a way to acquire a batch from elsewhere.

Yu Jing furrowed her brows, researchers don’t have combat tasks, daily research mission breakthroughs take too long, and the train’s material recovery prices are too stingy.

Thinking it over, there are only a few options.

Borrow or rob.

Could it be she has to accompany someone?

But no one knows where Su Huan has been these past few days, and moreover, allowing this experiment to proceed has already been a great effort on his part; the same method may not work, considering his nasty temperament, he might even increase the material price tenfold.

Might as well rob them instead.

Lao San happened to be coming out of Director Xu’s lab, looking deeply contemplative, completely unaware of Yu Jing nearby.

In front of the prison, Yu Jing seemed to have thought of some brilliant idea, a faint brilliance spilling from the corner of her eyes.

Perhaps her previous project selection was too challenging, starting simpler might be better.

...

Three days later, Su Huan returned carrying a cow.

The armed train sank ten meters under the weight of the cow before stabilizing.

Disregarding the crowd that hurriedly approached for a handover, Su Huan returned to the dining car on the sofa and began to sleep soundly.

As he fell into slumber, energy began rushing towards the train from a radius of several dozen kilometers, entering his body with each breath, every breath like a storm of energy.

Fortunately, Pan Energy does not directly interfere with other substances, so the carriage maintained apparent peace.

He slept for two whole days, surrounded by a field of dense energy, which overall boosted the train’s evolvers’ strength by a tenth; many seized the opportunity for breakthrough promotion.

Lin Jin also officially advanced to Tier Three.

Though the timing wasn’t quite right, what could be a better opportunity than a high-density Pan Energy environment?

However, aside from Lin Jin, others only advanced from ordinary evolvers to Tier One, not one advanced to Tier Two.

Su Huan slept soundly, without having any strange dreams.

He lightly sniffed the scent of sunshine on his nose, stretched lazily, opened his slender eyes slightly to find Yu Jing covering him with something.

He reached out to randomly fondle the woman’s waist, unexpectedly feeling a weak heartbeat, his arm abruptly froze.

Yu Yue gently guided his hand back.

Su Huan, dazed for a moment, realized the touch of his palm was of smooth fur, particularly soft, somewhat resembling the yellow skin he manipulated before.

Lowering his head, the silver-grey fur shifted to black with a slight push, appearing both elegant and luxurious.

Faint energy waves emanated, obviously from the fur of a Tier Three Evolution Beast, such extravagant behavior reminded him of that domineering woman.

Before he could inquire, Yu Yue calmly said, ”Lord Lian entrusted someone to deliver this to you, it’s been tailored to fit you; seeing you’ve been lying down for two days, not honoring their kindness, I decided to have you try it.”

The train conductor instinctively avoided Yu Yue’s serene gaze; he couldn’t quite describe this extraordinary sensation.

It was like a freshly bathed orange cat sneaking off to frolic, only to discreetly return home, finding itself suddenly grasped by its fate’s scruff by an already waiting owner.

The train conductor figured he wouldn’t face such situations, closed his eyes, and played dead.

Yu Yue’s gaze turned to Su Huan’s hand clutching the large mink, gently stating, ”It seems you really like this mink coat.”

Su Huan exhaled lightly, removed the black pendant from his ear, grasped Yu Yue’s soft hand, intending to put it on her.
