Armed Train in the Apocalypse

But whenever Su Huan turned around, there were only children with their backs to him and an eerie silence.

Su Huan slung the shovel over his shoulder, grinning in the sunlight, ”Looks like we’re playing hide and seek, I get it, this requires a knock and search method.”

”You better hide well now.”

”Heh heh heh...”

Su Huan walked toward the little girl in the pavilion.

Soon, a terrifying sound of shattering and panicked gasps echoed in the courtyard, as a shadow darted over the wall and fled outside.

Su Huan cleaned up the courtyard thoroughly, yet the scene still didn’t dissipate.

He puzzled over the artifact in his hand, ”Could it be not buried?”

But the ground was clean, with not a single corpse to be found.

After some thought, Su Huan’s gaze fell on the distant closed door.

Three seconds later, the door was kicked open, revealing a wide street, bustling with traffic and weaving pedestrians.

But just like inside, everyone turned their backs on him, even the dogs showed their rears.

”Tsk tsk tsk...”

With narrowed eyes curving in a smile, the conductor held the shovel and moved towards a vast world.

There was no time in there, so he had no idea how long had passed, but he somewhat began to enjoy the crisp feeling in his hands.

Besides the shovel, he had experimented with many other things, but ultimately found the shovel to work best.

The sound was bright without being brittle, round and powerful.

As for the initial heavy panting sounds, he no longer cared, hammering away in there with abandon, unwearied.

The conductor, after much fuss, not only didn’t find a trace of fear, but somewhat started to enjoy this sensation.

Meanwhile, in the outside world, He Jie and others couldn’t really see any rule chains or blue-violet curtains, they only saw the conductor seemingly dazed for a moment in mid-air, while the Terror Slaughterer floundered like a moth in the sky.

The roars continued but were all bark and no bite, the large blade waved around for ages, yet only grazed past.

”Did someone curse him or what?”

He Jie scratched his head with bewilderment.

But no one replied to him, as they couldn’t comprehend this bizarre battle either.

However, Zhong You suddenly recalled the time when his ability went out of control in Zhijin, it didn’t feel right back then but he didn’t know what Su Huan did, given that their abilities were entirely different. Later witnessing Su Huan’s mastery over energy, he understood.

The current situation was quite similar.

Although Su Huan couldn’t directly extract energy from a Tier Four being, interfering with the opponent was effortless for him.

”Hiss...”

Su Huan snapped out of his reverie almost instantly, and immediately oriented himself without a moment’s fuzziness.

Meanwhile, the Slaughterer was still comically spiraling in the sky.

Sometimes a slight flutter sent him hundreds of meters away, sometimes he flapped for ages without moving an inch, with different attributes of energy appearing and vanishing around him.

Su Huan reflected.

Both were competing for the rule of this area, but the rules of [Energy] and [Fear] weren’t fundamentally in conflict.

This was the main reason for both passing by each other.

Why Su Huan could clear his mind so quickly was partly because he was unafraid, and partly due to his superior mastery of the rules compared to the Slaughterer.

The latter wasn’t even talking about mastery, probably just starting to dabble with the rules, his power still in a rising phase.

However, battling with rules for the first time brought Su Huan numerous insights.

The power of rules could let him easily annihilate low-tier life, spar against those of the same tier, but it’s hard to directly kill an opponent using rules.

Just like the Terror Slaughterer, with a purely Tier Four physical body, purely relying on strength already surpassed most matter, the energy aftermath enough to wipe out the entire Plant Zone.

”Still have to do it the old-fashioned way...”

Su Huan sighed lightly, releasing the energy chains on the opponent.

The Slaughterer instinctively rushed over, suddenly realizing he could control his body, yet briefly hesitating.

”Huh, are you afraid of me?”

Su Huan keenly sensed the hesitation, slightly astonished. The dark blue energy in his hand had been compressed into a giant shovel over three meters long, layered with energy until it turned black.

The shovel’s shape became ever rougher, like holding an indescribable mosaic.

Then, in the Slaughterer’s wavering scarlet gaze, it struck down hard.

”Boom!”

As the Slaughterer burrowed in, the ground rippled like water, dirt waves spreading layer upon layer.

Before causing greater damage, it was compressed by Su Huan using the Domain.

The people on the train, like Yu Yue, breathed a sigh of relief; as long as the conductor had the upper hand, it was fine.

Ge Mian in the tree looked puzzled, ”Seems that opponent was somewhat ordinary after all.”

With an angry roar, a black-purple curtain quietly spread underground, instantly enveloping a range of dozens of kilometers.

Ge Mian suddenly felt an immense terror grip his heart, like years ago walking home alone after his brother drowned, facing his parents’ gloom and oppression, he suddenly found himself walking that desolate path!

Decades of experience and life felt like a dream.

”Thud thud thud...”

Several people fell from the tree, only Ge Mian still barely holding on, his chubby face twisted, drenched in sweat, fear-stricken like he was pulled from water.

The Armed Train hovering in mid-air also fell into the Domain of fear.

Desperate wailing burst from the train like a fear train bound for hell.

Only a few Tier Twos at the front barely held on.

Within several dozens of kilometers, all conscious life forms died on the spot in the deepest fear.

Only No.1 remained unaffected, as he simply lacked those extra organs.

Having endured fear again, Su Huan recovered more swiftly, hearing the extremity of fear-spurred screams on the train made him wince, he waved his hand, an Energy Torrent surged forth, pushing the train over ten kilometers away, as for others, he couldn’t help.

He could limit the Slaughterer’s body or even domain, but couldn’t constrain the rules.

If the guy was determined to target others, Su Huan couldn’t stop him.

Especially this kind of emotion-based Domain killed quicker than even a snap of Su Huan’s fingers, even hiding underground wouldn’t help.

Perhaps just after enduring a wave of fear, the Slaughterer’s momentum rose slightly again.

Looking at the large hole in the ground, Su Huan’s gaze deepened.

He’d need to finish this quickly, else things would get out of hand.

With a mosaic enveloping his right hand, it formed a huge spearhead five meters long.

He thrust it straight down.

Piercing fiercely at the Slaughterer’s abdomen just emerging from the ground.

”Boom boom boom—”

The ground was plowed open, plants shattered to pieces.

In the chaotic torrent of energy, the two of them tore through the forest diagonally downward for a kilometer, forcibly pushing out a hundred-meter-high hill at the end!

The soil closest to them crystallized completely, bearing the Slaughterer’s towering form.

The hard explosive sound made Su Huan’s brow twitch.

A full power strike only plunged the energy spearhead half a meter deep, the crimson in the Slaughterer’s eyes no longer flickered, fixing deeply, growing ever profound.

He had completed his corruption.

The Slaughterer always clutched the long knife, never discarding it even when struck flying.

He roared, back-handing at Su Huan, his head emerging from the chest, mouth open, ready to bite Su Huan’s nose.

”Clang!”

Su Huan’s left hand lifted to block, instantly, energy shattered, and half his body was sliced open by a slash.

Blood splattered out like Ruby.

Before the severed body hit the ground, energy surged out, returning to Su Huan’s damaged form, then began a frenzied repair.

Within breaths, bones grew flesh, skin grew hair...

If not for the torn shirt and half-exposed chest, the terrifying mark from the earlier slash was nearly invisible.

Meanwhile, the half-body on the ground had withered and dried.
