Armed Train in the Apocalypse

It was as if another thought in his mind was conversing with him!

Su Huan’s gaze lowered, and the lightning in his hand not only didn’t extinguish but became even more violent.

”You have one sentence to explain who you are.”

”I am a strand of consciousness formed by the Fungus Carpet beneath your feet.”

Yu Yue noticed Su Huan’s slowness, puzzled she asked, ”What’s wrong?”

Su Huan stepped on the throne beneath him, hesitatingly said, ”The Fungus Carpet seems to have become sentient.”

”Sentient?”

Yu Yue was stunned for a moment.

Soon that voice appeared in her ears too.

Only it changed to Su Huan’s voice.

Under Su Huan’s coercion, the Fungus Carpet quickly confessed all the contents it knew.

She is the mother of all the Coprinus Mushrooms here, all these mushrooms were nurtured by her.

Their life source is the stone in the package, which has some sort of ”enlightenment” function that gave her wisdom, leading her to instinctively nurture mushrooms to fight, to seize other mushroom groups’ ”enlightenment” stones.

Therefore, the mushroom groups within the Spore Zone would constantly wage wars, slaughtering each other.

And once the stone is lost, the Fungus Carpet will lose life and gradually wither, becoming like that dark red Fungus Carpet outside.

The Fungus Carpet outside was formed by the accumulation of countless small Fungus Carpets that died.

”Can you detoxify the spores?”

”I can, except for a few exceptional ones.”

”Here, try it.”

Su Huan extended his hand.

He still had quite a few residual spores inside his body.

Yu Yue, hearing their conversation, was somewhat worried, but Su Huan waved his hand to let her not mind.

From a biological standpoint, Su Huan, who’s filled with high energy all over, is more dangerous than the Fungus Carpet; entering his body was akin to moths flying into the flame.

The Fungus Carpet felt instinctive fear and repulsion.

But to survive, it had to comply.

The spore detoxification process was fast, even exceeding Su Huan’s expectations; there was no need for hyphae to search inside his body—it just had to attach, and the Fungus Carpet could absorb the spores from Su Huan’s body.

Su Huan used ”Inner Vision” to check his body, and was very satisfied, then let Yu Yue and the soldiers who were affected by spores to try it.

Within a few minutes, the terrifying spores weighing on everyone’s hearts were eliminated.

Su Huan moved his wrist, looked at the Fungus Carpet, and said calmly, ”You’d better figure out a way for me to transport you, otherwise I’ll have to take drastic action.”

He spoke with righteousness, feeling no shame in killing the donkey after it’s done its job.

Fortunately, the Fungus Carpet wasn’t human, and didn’t perceive itself being treated poorly.

The Fungus Carpet in the cave quickly contracted, wrapped all the Pan-energy Crystals into a ball, and then, layer upon layer, became a complete sphere, rolling inside the cave, deploying spider-web-like Fungus Carpet to pull the main body when encountering an uphill.

”My Fungus Carpet has high nutritional value, if you can take it away, it’d be best to take all of it.”

”Can it regenerate?”

”Yes.”

”Then leave it, are there any other valuable items in the cave, take them all.”

When the Fungus Carpet ball rolled out, Su Huan asked again, then snapped his fingers, watching the cave completely disintegrate during the explosion before leaving satisfied.

...

As the explosion sounded, over by the train they were still struggling amidst the Mushroom wars.

Mushrooms of various kinds continually charged at the train, pounding the armoring with loud bangs, but the train, having undergone numerous modifications, was completely indifferent to attacks of this level; occasionally, there were soldiers whose mechanized arms were improperly operated and got broken.

Lin Jin stood on the train head, glanced at the earth-shattering sounds over there, and his heart slightly relaxed, ”Looks like it’s over on the train master’s side.”

The voice on the other end of the communication from Mountain Goat said, ”A bit more prompt than I expected, once Lu Xiao returns we should have a round and drink well.”

Lin Jin’s face twitched, the last time Mountain Goat said it, first they drank, afterward took away a month’s worth of their points.

”Bang!”

”You’re planning without including me, believe it or not, I’ll twist your goat head?”

The opposite side came He Jie’s rough voice, Mountain Goat should have retreated, wounded.

He Jie took over the command authority and shouted, ”Lin Jin, can you work harder, the Fungus Carpet burns so slowly, if the train master comes back and sees the train only moved a few miles, aren’t you embarrassed?”

Lin Jin retorted irritably, ”It’s easy to talk big when you’re not working here, the Fungus Carpet here has a thickness of four to five meters at a time, it won’t burn through quickly!”

Flames transformed into a longbow, firing three arrows consecutively towards the Fungus Carpet ahead, carrying ”Fire Seed”, ”Explosive Flame”, and other multiple passive flames, causing explosive blasts upon landing that then burn intensely.

The Fungus Carpet instantly turned charred and burnt, followed by the tank tread pressing over it, slowly advancing northward.

During the conversation gap, another two arrows were fired to kill a giant mushroom.

”Quickly bring two teams up here to help clean up.”

He Jie cared little for him, directly shouting through the loudspeaker, ”Train master is coming back, show off now, later when others get promoted, don’t say I didn’t remind you!”

Inside the car, Qu Hang glanced at the screen filled with an overwhelming number of mushrooms, cradling his sniper rifle, he altered angle and leaned against the wall to rest.

Though he could manipulate the wind to form wind blades and the like, his main output method still relied on his sniper rifle, he tried many times but couldn’t find the mushrooms’ fatal spot, so he stopped wasting ammunition.

The news of the train master’s return instantly boosted everyone’s fighting desire.

When Su Huan returned, he saw the giant mushrooms crashing onto the train like pillars, accompanied by rumbling sounds, with soldiers in Power Armor holding gigantic axes heading up to chop, preventing impacts on the train’s advance.

As the Fungus Carpet called, the Coprinus Mushrooms ceased their attacks on the train, like soldiers obeying a command, standing neatly at the edges, awaiting the train master’s review.

Armed soldiers were also puzzled seeing this, though they expected such upon the train master’s return.

He is a man skilled at creating miracles.

No cheering, no applause, just checking equipment quietly, adjusting statuses, preparing for the next battle.

When Su Huan boarded the train, Shu Wei’s voice was the first to appear, ”There’s an issue over here that requires your attention...”

”A Tier Two voice-type Evolver?” Su Huan frowned, ”Let everyone go to the dining car to wait for me, all those fighting outside enter the train, including Wenbiao and them, keep any usable vehicles, throw away those that can’t be loaded.”

After sanitizing, shedding the heavy, sticky Power Armor, the train master finally returned to his throne.

Even if outside the window was a dark, damp mushroom forest, the train still maintained a warm and suitable temperature, humidity, including the sunshine smell of the orange cat blanket’s touch.

Mushrooms hopped outside the train window, from Su Huan’s perspective, like vivid cutscenes on the screen.

The mushroom collisions were intense, but isolated cleanly by the train’s multi-layer armor, only a slight dull sound, even quieter than the sounds of bubbles in a pot cooking meat broth.

”Where should I go?”

The Fungus Carpet ball stood at the ”narrow” doorway asking.

”Have you counted your mushrooms? How many are alive?”

Su Huan randomly asked.

”There are sixty thousand battle mushrooms, giant mushrooms are the fewest, only two thousand, one thousand large spray mushrooms.”

The massive number of mushrooms made Su Huan slightly gasp, such scale is enough to arm the train out of the Spore Zone.

The first to arrive were He Jie, Mountain Goat and a few others.

They have been directing dispatch in the train head all along, close in distance, hence arriving quickly.

Everyone initially had some joy in their faces, but upon seeing the train master’s quiet demeanor, silently closed their mouths, each finding a corner to shrink.

After a while, Yu Yue, having changed clothes, also came out.

Yu Jing holding a stack of sketch papers was drawing something on them, found a chair to sit on, without any desire to greet anyone.

Her state of wandering since the Power Armor was commissioned continued for a long time.

Soon, the tired-faced Lin Jin, Xiaoba, and Mongoose, among others, also arrived successively.

As Pang Tu brought Xiaoma to the dining car, Mongoose’s curiosity finally couldn’t be contained.

”Where are Sister Qi and Brother Xiao?”

”Are their injuries serious?”
