Armed Train in the Apocalypse

Chen Shan was at a loss for words, he couldn’t just say it was because of lust.

Mountain Goat waved his hand, sneering, ”No worries, you first raise a dirt wall around here and encircle it. Once the heavy weapons are brought in, I don’t care how many Tier Twos there are, I want them to know who the hell rules Zhijin!”

Chen Shan let out a sigh of relief and immediately went to work.

In the dust, Xiao Hong was fully focused on the battle in the arena, then suddenly ducked as a terrifying blast of air skimmed over his head, shattering a large chunk of concrete behind him into small pieces, and even the exposed rebar was sliced apart by the air blast.

A boy, covered in dust, poked his head out from the ruins; though he looked disheveled, his eyes were calm. Out of the corner of his eye, he glimpsed a figure curled up in the corner, took a deep breath, and shot out. Thanks to the enhancements from the ”Defender,” he easily dodged the large obstacles, grabbed Bomb by the scruff of the neck, and without checking the injuries, erupted with all his strength and charged towards the outer perimeter.

As the sound of the air slicing behind him reached his ears, Xiao Hong sighed internally, and could only pull Bomb over and take cover to the side.

Seeing Bomb’s state, Xiao Hong’s expression changed, and he quickly reached out to press against the other’s chest.

”Cough cough, how’s Aunt?”

Bomb asked weakly.

Upon hearing the voice, Xiao Hong released his hand, somewhat speechless.

One couldn’t blame him for being tense; Bomb looked too pitiful, with half of his body stained red with blood, and then covered in dust, making it impossible to tell the severity of the injuries. According to the coach’s teachings, in such a situation, the likelihood of death is extremely high.

”She got away, but I advise you not to do such foolish things as intercepting Tier Two Evolvers next time. If the opponent’s target wasn’t you, you’d really be dead.”

”I’m not dying; I still need to be your uncle.”

Xiao Hong glanced at the situation, seeing the battle shifting to the other side, ”You can only watch from heaven and be my uncle.”

”Bullshit, why does your aunt have a Tier Two Evolver hidden here?”

”I don’t know either, we just exchanged a few words and then started fighting.”

Xiao Hong’s expression shifted, turned to look back, and his hand found empty space at his waist. He then bent down to pick up a fragment of something unknown and looked cautiously behind him.

”Are you new recruits?”

A muted voice came over.

Xiao Hong discarded the fragment in his hand, ”Yes, we have one injured and unable to move.”

Pang Ke nimbly crossed a few obstacles and approached the two, giving them a glance and then suddenly freezing, ”Bomb?”

Bomb grinned, showing a row of white teeth, ”Brother Pang.”

Pang Ke cursed angrily, ”Damn it, calling me just Pang after a few days, huh? You deserve to get beaten like this.”

Afterwards, he looked at Xiao Hong, ”Know how to use a sniper rifle? Here.” Without waiting for a response, he shoved the heavy sniper into Xiao Hong’s hands.

Xiao Hong’s eyes had been locked onto the [Dragon Spine-2]. The team had exchanged training points for just an ordinary sniper, but it was with that ordinary sniper they achieved first place in the last assessment. However, that gun wasn’t considered theirs, so they couldn’t take it out.

”I’ll carry him, you keep an eye on the rear; if they come, shoot them down!”

With that, Pang Ke lifted Bomb and ran outward at high speed.

Xiao Hong covered their retreat.

Outside, Mountain Goat saw the three emerging and sternly asked, ”Are there any more of our people inside?”

Chen Shan decisively shook his head, ”No.”

”Then hit them hard for me!”

The command given, the City Guard Army and armed soldiers, who were already prepared, began frantically raining bullets toward the fiercest part of the battlefield.

In the center of the battlefield, two figures fought like fierce beasts, steel and concrete felt like toys made of cookies. Whether it was the blade light from the man in camouflage or the big axe in Mirror’s hands, they could smash everything into powder.

As countless barrels aimed at him, the man in the camouflage shivered, roared, and shifted direction, instantly swinging out dozens of slashes. Intense Pan Energy fluctuations lit up on the blade as a long slash broke free, heading towards the bullets.

The air burst with a string of sparks, each blade light knocking away a dozen bullets.

”Wang Wu, what the hell are you doing?!”

The man turned and roared, then he saw a row of bullets seeming to appear out of thin air, embedding mid-air and being compressed into small copper cakes. This process was lightning-fast, if he hadn’t sharp eyes, he could only see small copper cakes suddenly appearing in the air, more and more, like someone was stamping in mid-air.

It had a sort of rhythmic beauty.

But the Tier Two Evolver down there caught in the blocking was suffering, drenched in cold sweat, shrieking, ”Heavy machine guns, we’re already surrounded by the army, forget about that woman, if you don’t run now, it’ll be too late.”

Even after multiple evolutions, human bodies were far inferior to Tier Two Zombies’ corpse armor. Hit by this battlefield killing aura, no ability would leave them anything but corpses!

The man looked back at the Genetic Primordial avoiding bullets, and fear of death overtook the persistence for the mission, gnashing his teeth as he shouted a retreat.

The escape of the Genetic Primordial ultimately lay at the feet of higher management. Even if there’s an issue with them, the organization wouldn’t easily deal with Tier Two Evolvers like them, at most delaying their promotion. But surviving means there’s still a chance.

Death means it’s all over!

Feeling the increasingly intense crisis and instinctual warning, the camouflaged man turned to run.

Just in that moment of distraction, Mirror bounded up, swinging an axe down upon his head.

But even more terrifying was the sense of crisis—a killing intent locked firmly onto his heart.

The man in camouflage looked up abruptly, seeing a boy with calm, dead-like eyes, holding a heavy sniper, locking onto him, waiting for that moment of vulnerability.

Mirror’s axe was already overhead, leaving him to grit his teeth and choose defense first.

In the instant he moved, the roar of the heavy sniper resonated in his ears.

’Why not shoot this one above?!’

The man roared internally with frustration and rage, pushing all his skills to their limits and meeting the woman’s axe.

As for the heavy sniper bullet, he could only rely on comrades.

At the moment of clash, the man’s long blade shook wildly, the bright blade light shattered and twisted, emitting a screech no less sharp than the heavy sniper’s firing.

A slight sound of glass shattering rang out, the power of the heavy sniper bullet surpassed Wang Wu’s ability limits, tearing through the membrane, instantly ripping through the camouflaged man’s arm, breaking their deadlock.

If not for Wang Wu’s intervention, his entire body would have been torn apart by the heavy sniper!

The man twisted away from the giant axe, narrowly escaping, then the next moment, his pupils constricted as four rocket launchers, accompanied by sharp whistling, shot towards the entangled duo, giving them no chance to breathe.

”Boom boom——”

The explosions overlapped; the man in camouflage, not yet landed, was again launched into the air, flying straight out of the battlefield, with bright red blood trailing behind him like a long ribbon, crashing into the ruins, worsening his already dire injuries.

The camouflaged man spat blood, feeling the murderous aura swirling madly through the smoke, unable to help but bitterly smile. He’d checked the almanac before leaving; how could he have ended up in such a mess.

The echoes of the explosion carried sharp and maniacal laughter, as if it reveled in this chaotic and bloody battlefield.

”That woman’s power has grown stronger again.”

Wang Wu’s face was incredibly solemn.

According to Mirror’s strength before fleeing headquarters, the two of them could firmly suppress her, one on offense and one on defense. Even without the interference of themselves and the armed soldiers outside, just the man in camouflage alone could suppress the opponent, yet now he was beaten down head-on.

The camouflaged man leaped out of the ruins, making such large movements that blood gushed from his severed arm, but he remained silent, heading toward the rear buildings with determination.

The soldiers wanted to intercept, but Wang Wu blocked all the bullets mid-air.

They could only watch helplessly as the two ran into the alley.

The remnants of the explosion slowly faded, leaving only insane laughter in the arena.
