Armed Train in the Apocalypse

A whole vial of medicine was administered, but Yu Yue showed no improvement, her clothes stained with bright red blood.

The soldiers who had just entered remained silent, the only sounds in the entire carriage were from the medical staff and equipment, even the knocking and cries for help outside the train gradually weakened until they vanished.

Su Huan placed Yu Yue on the bed and let Lin Xia connect the equipment to monitor her vital signs.

”Is there no other way?”

Lin Xia looked at the tense train conductor and swallowed the word ”no,” hesitatingly said, ”There’s still one type of inhibitor...”

”But it will suppress the evolution speed and damage some of the evolution potential,” Lin Jin suddenly interjected nearby.

Before Su Huan could ask, he pointed at a silver-gray vial in Lin Xia’s hand and said, ”Lin Xi has always used this; otherwise, the evolution couldn’t be controlled.”

Listening to the increasingly faint heartbeat of the woman, Su Huan paused for a moment, then decisively said, ”Use it!”

”No matter how much inventory there is, use it on everyone.”

”Yes.”

”What about Wen Biao and the others outside?”

Shu Wei’s voice suddenly came from the broadcast, but Su Huan looked back towards the end of the corridor where the locked door stood, behind which the secretary stood silent.

Su Huan coldly said, ”Are they all dead?”

”No, through our observation, only those who went out of the train died; those inside are still alive.”

Su Huan’s eyes flickered, ’Inside the train?’

He seemed to catch a spark of insight and said in a deep voice, ”Let them stay inside the train and not move, close the door and windows, do not turn on the air conditioning.”

Shu Wei said nothing more, just nodded, and was about to leave when Su Huan asked, ”Does Black Kite have specific information about the Spore Zone?”

Shu Wei shook her head, ”When I arrived, Black Kite was fully sweeping the Storm Zone, and the intelligence on the Spore Zone was obtained through communication with another faction.”

”Which faction?”

”Tianze Alumni Association, originally a top faction, now vanished.”

Su Huan did not inquire again, sinking into contemplation.

According to the messages released by Donghuang Heavy Industry, there were originally nine top factions, and after a year of brutal elimination, only five remained, with one being the armed train. The fortunate ones, like Black Kite, merely fell from grace; the unlucky ones, like Tianze Alumni Association, vanished directly.

Su Huan sighed inwardly; if Donghuang Heavy Industry’s released list included specific reasons for disappearance, he might not be so passive.

...

Outside the train, a kilometer away on the abandoned country road.

An off-road vehicle sped wildly on the road, occasionally jumping due to obstacles.

”Hang on a bit, we’ll soon be back by the train, and once the conductor comes down, that damn thing is done for!”

Lu Xiao’s pale face burned with intense flames as he stared at the rearview mirror and suddenly jerked the steering wheel. The off-road vehicle made a large turn, diving into a narrower country road. Behind, a vicious Tier Two Ridgeback Dog leapt, missing the target, crashing through a brick and dirt wall, its savage dog head glaring at the off-road vehicle, raising dust under its four paws.

As it was about to give chase, it whipped its head around.

A burst of blood erupted beside its ear, causing it to howl at the sky in pain, its malicious gaze fixed on the sniper 800 meters away on the warehouse.

After hesitating between the off-road vehicle and the sniper, it decisively chose the former.

”Tough dog head.”

Miao Qi muttered, but didn’t immediately flee, pulled back the bolt, and shot the Ridgeback Dog with two more lethal hits.

After six months of Zhijin’s trials, she successfully advanced to Tier One ”Decomposer.” Although she didn’t know what happened to Lu Xiao and the others, she decisively spread her decomposition ability over her body, a decisive move that saved her and made her the only one in the team who didn’t succumb.

Thus she remained to cover for Lu Xiao and the others.

Seeing the Ridgeback Dog already within 500 meters, Miao Qi packed her gun and left.

In her hands was only an ordinary Law Enforcer sniper rifle, using 7.62mm bullets, unable to kill a mutant beast with strong life force.

But she only needed to delay until the train support arrived.

Whether Lin Jin or Xiaoba came, this dumb dog was doomed!

”Boom!”

The off-road vehicle hit the ground, and the three comrades inside rolled around like cabbages.

Lu Xiao looked at the train before him, swerved the car’s tail and opened the door to unload.

As long as the people were delivered back, there would be no problem, the conductor surely had a way to revive them!

Now he had to find that tigress woman.

Lu Xiao suddenly felt a warmth near his lips, wiped hard with his sleeve, taking off the blood-stained trench coat and tossing it into the passenger seat, then got back in the car, ignited the engine, kicked the accelerator, the off-road vehicle roared forth like a raging bull.

The man inside the car, nosebleed pouring down, furiously revved the engine, his gaze fierce like a lone wolf.

...

Inside the train, Lin Jin exclaimed, ”Conductor, Lu Xiao left again!”

”I’ll go one more time.”

Su Huan swung open the car door, a flash of lightning, disappearing outside.

If ignoring the sprawling corpses below, the outside world remained harmonious, heard He Jie’s angry roar from the car roof, and sporadic heavy machine gun fire.

”Run towards me!”

”Don’t look back, don’t look back, you idiot Lu Xiao!”

Su Huan frowned, that off-road vehicle not only did not approach the train but was getting further.

His body covered by lightning, next moment, stood atop the heavy machine gun stamping his foot, ”Stop wasting bullets, keep them all watching, not one allowed out!”

Next moment, he appeared a hundred meters away as if teleporting.

Despite seeing it many times during Zhijin’s combat sweeps, He Jie remained shocked by Su Huan’s ghostly speed of movement, originally he thought upgrading to Tier Two would narrow the gap with the conductor, but unexpectedly it became more hellish.

After months of slaughter, Su Huan gained new understanding of energy manipulation.

Although basic attributes didn’t change much, the speed burst far exceeded Tier Two ”Defender,” able to overwhelm himself months ago upon first advancement.

If previous combat power was 3 or 2, now it’s 5.

For the first time since Tier Two advancement, combat power exceeded its paper data.

Previously exceeding this much was during initial awakening, leveraging past experience, able to preemptively use skills beyond tier.

To date, only two evolvers exceeded paper combat power, one Liang Kuan, the other Xiaoba. The former had slightly excessive power attributes, but enemies faced by Liang Kuan, which were not Tier Two or above in power?

The second was Xiaoba, similarly metal manipulation, turning decay into divine under his control, initially overpowering Black Kite’s metal manipulator to the point where he couldn’t utter a word.

Several sprints, Su Huan caught up to the off-road vehicle.

But inside, Lu Xiao’s state was near collapse, sustained solely by strong will.

Su Huan sighed, a dark blue hand smacked the car window of the racing off-road vehicle, glass scattered as the entire door tore off, then ripped the seatbelt, operated ”Gas Vortex,” directly pulled Lu Xiao from the driver’s seat.

After checking the latter’s status, Su Huan could only carry him back to the train.

Upon boarding the carriage, saw Director Xu, Professor Ma, and a crowd of researchers surrounding Yu Yue and others.

Su Huan scanned with his eyes, pupils narrowed sharply.

Gone out still fine, Lin Jin unbelievably lay on the bed too, continuously bleeding from the nose!

”Tier Two can’t withstand this virus either?”

Director Xu waved boldly, approached Su Huan decisively saying, ”It’s not a virus at all, it’s a type of spore.”

Su Huan frowned, ”What are spores, mushrooms?”

Director Xu shook his head, ”Spores are reproductive units of microorganisms, plants, or fungi, possessing strong resilience, able to dormant in harsh conditions, sprouting into new individuals under suitable conditions. They are not living organisms themselves but akin to seeds of plants, albeit more primitive than seeds.”
