Armed Train in the Apocalypse

”Ah Shan, block the road!”

Li Xinlong, smelling of gunpowder, shouted menacingly.

A cold-faced man responded and climbed out of the car, none other than Chen Shan, one of the Black Star Five Tigers.

He jumped onto the off-road vehicle nearby, his stark black-and-white eyes flashed with a deep chaos, three earth walls rose one after another in front of Li Xinlong, the first two were very low, just over half a meter high, toppling the charging zombie horde over, filled by bullet fire.

Struggling to climb over the first two walls, they then crashed into the last 1.6-meter wall.

With agility not yet at Tier level, the zombies could only futilely stick their heads over the wall.

Then they were precisely harvested by Li Xinlong.

To prevent accidents, they chose a street flanked by low-rise buildings to stop zombies from overwhelming them by jumping down like dumplings.

Without Tier One Zombies breaking the formation, Li Xinlong, with dozens of guns, easily defended the earth walls.

Once the bodies filled the pits, everyone retreated a little and raised two more walls.

After twenty minutes, three pits eight meters wide and 1.6 meters deep appeared in front of Li Xinlong, covered layer by layer with gray dirt and blood, with brass bullets scattered all over.

Only scattered zombies persisted in crawling over this ”natural moat,” as gunfire gradually dwindled.

More concentrated gunfire came from across the street.

”Bang!”

Several zombies running forward suddenly stopped, turning around only to be hit by a car door.

A man with a fire axe rushed out, a rocket launcher slung over his back, wearing a sleeveless denim jacket exposing muscular arms, splitting open a zombie skull with one axe strike.

Facing approaching zombies, he kicked hard.

The sound of bones snapping echoed, and the violent impact sent limbs flying.

”Peng Peng––”

Dull gunshots rang from behind him, eliminating the last few zombies.

”Already a Tier One Evolver, but you won’t give up that lousy axe.”

The woman’s tone lost its softness from talking to Jiang Rong, turning sharp and crisp.

A graceful figure passed through the dust, stood next to the man, carrying a shotgun, her gray-purple suede jacket emphasizing her strong shoulder line, her black-purple gradient hair strikingly unique.

”Master Rong, we’ve fought through a street; what reward will you give us tonight?”

Yin Yinan looked provocatively at the woman behind Li Xinlong.

The latter held a backpack, licked her lips defiantly.

Li Xinlong wisely didn’t involve himself in the war between the two women, turning to shout at Chen Shan, ”Ah Shan, seal off the street, leave some zombies for Old Yang, spread the plague afterward.”

Seeing Li Xinlong begin to command the wrap-up, Yin Yinan snorted coldly, giving up for now.

She’s not so stupid; the apocalypse values strength, values worth, what does it matter if that bitch’s face is pretty?

Li Xinlong will be hers sooner or later!

Pang Ke also came down with his crew from upstairs, carrying a 12.7mm heavy sniper exchanged from the armored train, his chubby face flushed with excitement, small eyes brimming with excitement, ”Ah Long, three Butchers, four Night Demons, one Jumper, four shorties, killed a total of twelve Tier One Zombies in one battle! This gun was worth the exchange!”

Everyone, including Li Xinlong, stared eagerly at the 1.4-meter-long [Dragon Spine-2] in his hand.

The firearms produced in Donghuang after the millennium mostly had uniform naming, like the Iron Falcon for submachine guns, Iron Guard for assault rifles, Iron Eagle for pistols... But after 2030, military factories began breaking this naming convention for some advanced weapons.

For example, the [Dragon Spine-2] held by the fatty, capable of precise strikes within 2000 meters.

Normal sniper rifles typically have an effective range of 800 meters, large caliber sniper rifles, meaning heavy snipers above 12.7mm, have a kill distance of 1200 meters, with a few reaching 1500. And the [Dragon Spine-2] was a product of technological explosion.

Were it not for Mr. Shu’s generosity, the armored train couldn’t have secured ten of them at once.

Without this gun, with just their six Tier One Evolvers and the convoy’s hundreds of guns, clearing this street alone would take a week.

Risking casualties if not careful.

In a sense, this heavy sniper’s importance to the convoy is comparable to three or four Tier One Evolvers.

Seeing Pang Ke holding the gun carelessly, Li Xinlong frowned, ”Put the gun in the car if you’re not using it, the sandstorm here is fierce, the upcoming cleanup depends entirely on it!”

Pang Ke quickly tossed the gun into the car, shouting, ”Ah Long, let’s go take down that Tier Two Skull Crusher at Chenxi Square on Zijin South Road.”

Li Xinlong looked at the sky, the sun reached noon, temperature rising, but the sandstorm showed no signs of slowing.

He said steadily, ”Today, clearing this street is our task, according to the meeting’s target distribution, clearing Zijin South Road within a week will do, let’s see others’ progress first.”

Yin Yinan asked, ”So we’re retreating today?”

Li Xinlong ordered sternly.

”You and Wei Tian take the close combat group to scavenge supplies from the buildings on both sides, stay within the street’s range, don’t linger, call me if anything happens.”

After the two led the squad of 200 wielding rebar, fire axes, and other melee weapons into the buildings along the street, Li Xinlong looked at Pang Ke nearby.

”Ah Ke, let the bulldozer in, pile abandoned vehicles aside, then gather the corpses for Old Yang to handle.”
