Armed Train in the Apocalypse

The four major convoys set off from the neutral town and headed towards the Weinan District of Zhijin City.

Their actions were like a signal, causing the convoys and Scavenger groups from Fuyuan, Changxing, and Xinma Counties to emerge like bamboo shoots after the rain, excitedly heading towards Zhijin City. The humans, repressed by the apocalypse for so long, howled loudly in the wilderness, attracting the zombies and Evolution Beasts they once feared.

Using the firepower and crowd of the large convoys to annihilate them.

Death and blood instantly filled every building and every inch of land between the Three Counties and Zhijin.

When the first person exchanged a weapon from the convoys using a freshly killed zombie, the crowd’s enthusiasm for hunting was pushed to its peak!

It was as if humanity had returned to the era of cooperative hunting tens of thousands of years ago. Even though some died, many were attracted by the highly valuable materials and resources.

This was humanity’s first large-scale attack on a major city after the apocalypse, and also a counterattack against the apocalypse!

Overlooking Weixing Avenue, a large modified convoy was driving towards Zhijin, the tires crushing the broken highway with a muffled ”bang bang” sound, and a large ”Black Star” logo printed on all the vehicles.

A fat figure darted through the convoy traveling at 60 km/h with a speed that didn’t match his build.

He climbed into a modified off-road vehicle with a 12.7mm heavy machine gun welded to its roof.

With a ”bang,” he shut the door.

Pang Ke shook his head, ”Ah Long, you wouldn’t believe it. This group of Scavengers went crazy, sacrificing dozens of lives to take down one Butcher. If I hadn’t arrived in time, they’d have been turned into mincemeat!”

Li Xinlong sat in the back seat, looking at the paper map in his hand.

”To construct a base city, you have to make some noise. Our Black Star’s rise is predestined here.”

Pang Ke asked, ”I thought we were waiting until the market opened to start the cleanup, why so soon?”

”The original plan was to clean up while the market was opening, just not on this scale. It was discussed to have two hundred thousand Scavengers clear the area around Zhijin into a safe zone and then delve deeper. However, Black Kite proposed that the four major teams lead the charge, clearing out the dangers in one go. The market will remain open during this period, and if the plan goes smoothly, the Scavenger Market will become permanent.”

Pang Ke turned his small eyes, puzzled, ”This bit of stuff warrants more than an hour of discussion? What’s this rise opportunity you mentioned?”

”Black Kite came up with an interesting idea: whichever team contributes more will have more influence once the base city is established. They’ve outlined the functional departments of the base city, and as long as we contribute more, we can choose our location first.”

Li Xinlong looked up, his eyes filled with undisguised ambition.

”The security system of the base city will have two internal and external teams. Our Black Star must secure one of them!”

Pang Ke nodded, ”Ah Long, your mind works well. I’ll follow your lead. Oh, I heard from others outside that an armed train has arrived. They even flattened Xinma County in a grand display. Wen Biao is now working for someone. What’s the deal with this train?”

A shadow flickered in Li Xinlong’s eyes, ”Black Kite has been in contact with them. The train won’t be involved in the base city plan and won’t stay in Zhijin, so we don’t need to worry about them.”

Pang Ke said cautiously, ”I’m just afraid they’ll be the oriole in the end...”

Li Xinlong sneered, ”Let the train test the strength of the four major teams then. Let’s not talk about it for now. First, head to the camp to drop off my mom and have President Nan leave a team to protect her.”

”Don’t worry, your mom is my mom. I won’t forget Auntie even if you did.”

”... Get lost!”

...

At the back of the convoy, a white RV was surrounded by four off-road vehicles and a dozen motorcycles.

Two women sat on the bed at the back of the RV.

”I thought the storm was scary enough; I didn’t expect there to be a heat wave, rising so fast. Wouldn’t millions...”

Jiang Rong sighed in response to the question.

”Sis, you’re amazing. If I were you, I’d be too desperate to know what to do.”

President Nan had tears in her eyes, covering her bright red lips with a purple cuff.

Jiang Rong smiled calmly, ”You’re amazing too. There aren’t many Tier One female Evolvers at this stage.”

”I was elevated using convoy resources by Master Rong. I can’t compare to you, Sis.” President Nan looked surprised, ”Sis, did you see other sisters on the road? Are they Tier One too?”

Although after evolution, women’s strength disadvantages would be compensated for by various special abilities,

before that, women were far behind men in terms of survival and resource acquisition methods. This led to a scarcity of female Evolvers in the wilderness. In the entire Black Star Convoy, there were five or six Tier Ones, and only she was a female Evolver.

Beyond that, there was almost a complete break.

”Yes, after all, having traveled to many places, you see some here and there.”

Jiang Rong replied vaguely.

However, if you think about it, there were quite a few female Tier One Evolvers on the train, and the number of those not yet at Tier One was also very balanced.

Almost one-third.

President Nan suddenly looked out the window, then apologized to Jiang Rong, ”It seems Master Rong needs me for something. I’ll head out first.”

Jiang Rong smiled, ”It’s okay, go ahead.”

President Nan didn’t have the vehicle stopped, opening the door and slipping into an off-road vehicle like a purple swimming fish.

Seeing her son in the car waving at her, Jiang Rong smiled in return, and the off-road vehicle quickly merged into the traffic ahead.

Jiang Rong’s smile gradually softened.

The scale of the Black Star Convoy was no smaller than that of the armed train, and she was well aware of how difficult it was to sustain a force of over two thousand people. Although she was worried about her son, she didn’t want to be a buzzkill mother.
